Chapter: 7

_{"I had a feeling it had to do with those damn wolves, they're responsible," Logan said, gesturing towards them. While watching the frightening pack members, Logan's gaze fell upon three men who'd joined a week prior. Logan felt the weight of their deadly stares, as if they could kill him with a single glance. With beta and gamma at his side, he informed his father of the situation and they started planning.} 

 _{Eugene mind links Lina, “Baby, what I’m going to need for you to do is gather all the women, children, and run into the house and head to the hideout, all of the men will distract these rouges.”}

_{“Okay, I understand,” she muttered.}

_{Eugene mentally connected all the men, giving them orders to show no mercy. Everyone nodded in agreement. In a matter of minutes, James, a member of Logan's pack, viciously ripped the rogue apart, resulting in blood spraying all around.}

_{Having shifted, Logan, Julian, and Simone ran into the crowd, upon doing so, Logan recognized the three male wolves by their scent. Logan charged toward them in a furious, determined mission. With a rush, Logan tackled the central wolf, sinking his teeth into its throat and clawing its face; the wolf's pained howl marked its end.}

_{The two light brown wolves and the black and white one formed a circle, with the latter trying to match Logan's stature. Suddenly, the black and white wolf went for the kill by grabbing Logan's front paw and nipping at it. Growling and sighing, Logan used his free paw to claw the wolf, breaking its hold on his foot.  He overpowered the wolf, biting its throat, and dragging it off. Out of nowhere, Julian jumps on the wolf from behind and tears into its back with his teeth, causing the wolf to cry out in pain. Then, Julian goes for the wolf's neck, pulling its head from its body. After completing his task, he went to Logan and completed the job of killing the wolf. Exchanging a nod, Logan mind-linked Julian.}

_{Logan asked, "Hey, where's Simone?"}

_{"We got separated, and though I'm a little worried, I know she's capable," Julian said.}

_{“Our members are getting hurt as these enemies continue to come relentlessly. I must locate my father,” Logan replied.}

_{Julian responded, "I agree; we must assist everyone. Let's separate; Logan, I believe this is our only option to locate them."}

_{Logan nodded, and they both walked in a different direction. As Logan ran, he heard the howls of his pack members, fueling his rage. He grabbed a wolf from behind, pulled it down, and tore it apart. Not stopping there, Logan also took down three more. Logan finally located his father and mother on the far left side of the woods, with his mother holding onto his father's arm.}

_{"Dad, is everything alright between you and Mom?"}

_{“We’re fine, son. We need to keep fighting.”}

_{Alright, have you seen Mitchell? "Julian's looking for them to check on him and his mom," Logan says.}

_{“Since the start of the battle, I've lost contact with him; the attack scattered us.” Eugene hints.}

_{"Mom's doing well," Logan asked.}

_{"Son, don't worry, your mom and I have handled worse situations before."}

_{“Alright, Dad, I'm going to help everyone else and then I'll be right over.”}

_{"Don't worry about us, son; help as many people as you can."}

_{Logan promised his dad that he would, then closed the mind link and dashed out to aid as many individuals as possible. It seemed to be working, until a wolf suddenly tackled Logan forcefully, sending them rolling away from the commotion. Logan saw a dark brown wolf with amber eyes as they rose.  The force of their collision knocked them both back a few yards.}    

_{While bravely battling a wolf, Logan is unexpectedly attacked from the side by another, its claws inflicting a painful wound that causes Logan to cry out and lower his head. Instantly, Logan bit deeply into the wolf's neck. Logan swiftly ended the wolf's life by using his paws to attack its face, just minutes after the wolf howled in pain. Logan attempted to stand from that position but was initially unsuccessful. Realizing he was bleeding out, Logan understood that without medical treatment, he would not survive.}

_{"Logan, as we're both injured, I'll take charge and try to get help," Phoenix said.}

_{Finally, Phoenix's strength returned, he stood, his dark blue eyes burning with anger, and the other wolf ran off. Despite his best efforts to rejoin the battle, Phoenix's pain intensified with each movement. When they were starting to draw near, stars became visible, and as Phoenix attempted to resist, darkness swiftly enveloped them.}
