“Not exactly an idea,” he said. “I'm afraid you might think I'm a total nerd if I tell you, though.”

“Carter, you're taking me on a cruise aboard your private yacht,” I said. “I'm hard-pressed to believe that there's anything you could say to me right now that would make me feel like you're a nerd.”

“Check this out,” he said, taking my hand and leading me toward the center monitor. “See this line right here, the one we're about to pass?”

There was a light blue line across the map. The red dot that represented us was about to touch the line.

“Yeah, what is that?” I asked.

“We're about to head into International waters,” he said, with a smile.

“Are you serious?” I said, leaning closer to the map. “Is that bad?”

He shrugged. “No really. You know what it technically means, though, right?”

I shook my head. “I'll be honest. I have no clue.”
