My alarm causes me to jerk from my sleep. I look at the time to see that I have two hours before my meeting. So I get up, brush my teeth and head down to the gym. When I get there, I am not so surprised to see Dovey. Our eyes meet and I look away, then make my way to the treadmill. ‘’Georgia, I am going to run out for a quick minute.’’ She gives me a panicked look. ‘’I have to go to Asher’s office. “I am going to nip to the toilet for a bit,’’ Georgia says, getting up from her perch beside me. I nod, biting into my milky way bar. As I look around, I am proud of my… our work. The place is coming together nicely. All I need now is the new windows and doors, along with the furniture, and we are good to be open. I didn't notice anyone coming in, but when I look up, Asher is standing before me. I suck in a breath and choke on the piece of chocolate I was chewing on. I cough and try to catch my breath, but it takes longer for it to go down. So I get up from my seat for a bottle of water. ‘’Hey,’’ he says. Either oblivious to my predicament or not caring at all. ‘’You’re back,’’ I say, then clear my throat. ‘’I am.’’ Asher nods. ‘’You took longer than a week,’’ I say. I don’t know why I said that, but if I’m being honest with myself. I missed his presence. I missed him coming to pick me up and even though we don’t talk much, I missed that. He looks away from me before answering.

The next morning, I woke early for work, because once again one of the idiots my father hired fucked up. I don’t see why he doesn’t just leave things to me. He isn’t getting any younger and needs to retire already. This place can survive without him and I have proved that time and time again. I pause when I see the light shining out from under Millie’s door, and just as I walk off, she gets out of her room. ‘’Good morning,’’ she smiles brightly at me. ‘’You are up early,’’ I note. ‘’I thought I could go jogging before heading to the shop. It is all Georgia’s idea, but I’m going along because I’m not too familiar with the place.’’ My eyes travel over her body, and they bring back the memory of the heated moment we shared at my grandparents' house. She doesn’t seem affected by it and if I don’t know better, I would say she doesn’t care much about it. As I sit there, I can’t seem to get my mind to focus on what is happening now. My mind keeps going back to Sabrina. I guess I am the one who allowed what happened just now to happen. Thankfully, the meeting is over quickly, and all I can do is leave my father to deal with things. I hear the door opening, so I turn. Expecting it to be Georgia back with the clocks, I asked her to buy. But I see that it is no one and guess that the wind must have blown the door open. Since yesterday, the heavy gust of wind has been doing that. This is just another reason why I can’t wait for the new door to come so I can change them. I plug the sign in that is hanging over the counter and get down from the ladder to see how it looks. When I get home, I keep glancing at Millie. She hasn’t said a word since giving me that goofy smile and asking if something happened between Sabrina and me. I just wish I know what she is thinking because she doesn’t seem affected by any of this at all. All she does is go to the kitchen and eat. As I go about my business shopping for flowers as Georgia suggested, I notice I am being followed by Sabrina, who thinks she is being stealthy by wearing a hoodie and glasses.
