The car ride to my house is silent, Millie only stares out the window and it leaves me to wonder what she is thinking about. I hate that she doesn’t talk much and I hate that I care at all.

‘’Millie,’’ I say.

She turns to look at me.

‘’You will be on your own for a while. For just a week, I have a business trip to go on.’’

Millie shrug. ‘’Ok.’’

‘’Ok, and I expect you to go out with a bodyguard as well.’’

She gives me a look.

‘’I mean it, I don’t want anything to happen to you, and if you need anything. Just talk to Sabrina while I’m gone.’’

‘’When will you be leaving?’’ she asks.

‘’In the morning.’’

She nods.

When we get to the house, Millie hurries off to her room.

I watch after her and then begin to unbutton my shirt, thinking that I have more than just my work cut out for me with her.

Not only is she a virgin, but she doesn’t seem to care much. I’m guessing I did pick the right one. She won’t want a relationship with me. Just her bakery and citizenship.
