I stand up, roll my shoulders, and clear my throat to shake the doubts from my mind. A nurse in the hallway looks up from her medicine cart to bow to me. I nod my head to her, but don’t stop walking until I get to Milo’s door. They’ve turned most of the lights off in his room. He’s laying on his side, facing away from me. “Um, Milo?” I whisper. “Are you awake?” He doesn’t answer, so I quietly swing the door shut. I can come back tomorrow. The doctor said this isn’t my fault, but if I hadn’t let him kiss me, maybe he wouldn’t have had to be sedated. It’s a weird sense of guilt. Milo’s POV It’s after one a.m., but I can’t sleep. Ghost is antsy too. It’s a good thing for once, though. Maybe a walk around the ward will help him calm down. I put on my slides and shuffle out into the hallway. It’s really quiet this late at night. Ghost feels like he’s on alert and it’s making me anxious. “Bro, remember what Doctor Stanton said.” I remind him. “It’s okay to be at sixty percent. Leni tilts her head and looks at me like I’m insane. “That I was crying. What else would I want to hide from my brother?” Did I hear her right? Lenora’s POV 3 MONTHS LATER “Hey, Lenora.” Ashley’s voice rings in my mind. “Hey, what’s up?” “Just checking to see if you are still on the phone.” “Nope.
