Have you ever had that feeling that something bad is going to happen? That your life is going to change in an unbelievable way and there's nothing you can do to stop it?

I've had this feeling all day and it's pissing me off. My life is great at the moment, I mean I'm alive aren't I?

I had my family, my friends, my degree- speaking of degrees I needed to get a job. I couldn't liveoff my savings forever and needed to find something ASAP. But before I did that and became an adult, like an adult- adult, I needed to have a little fun.

After asking Jane, my best friend for as long as I can remember, to come out with me for the last month, she finally agreed. I had to seize this rare opportunity, Jane rarely went clubbing, and now that she was with a baby she barely had time to do anything.

Caleb was surprisingly a very good and doting father. I'm not going to lie I had doubts about his parenting skills and I fully believed he would disappear with the baby, but he didn't and I could tell he loved Jane a lot. A lot more than she loved him.

I can't say I blame her though, hemarked her without explaining what that was, forced her to move in with him, considered using Jane as a baby making machine and drugged her. Now that I think about it, he was a shitty person, I had no idea why Jane even bothered with him. I guess it's the mate bond, their baby and sex, Jane always looks very satisfied and happy, he must have a big dick and know how to use it properly.

Gosh! I needed that tonight, alcohol and sex. I don't know why people say it's a bad combination, seems to work pretty well with me.

"Hello Evelyn, how are you?" Williams asked as he opened the door and let me in.

"I'm good. You?" I replied as I headed to the living room.

Williams, now that guy is the kind of guy you would call a fanatic, I am not kidding. I know it was wrong to look at Jane's dad in that way but that's all I was doing. Looking never hurt anyone, right?

Also he did at one point belong to an extremist group that hated humans, so his level of hotness has decreased a lot since I found that piece of information out.

He has his own place but spent a lot of time with Jane and they had a pretty good relationship. I wasn't too sure how her relationship was with the rest of the family but she was happy now.

It had been a while since I've seen her genuinely happy. I think she lost that when she met Caleb but, now she was content and thriving and I'm honestly so happy for her.

She's had a rough year, going through so much pain and heartbreak however she always says she would go back and do it again because the end result was her daughter.

"Where's Victoria?" I questioned Jane's dad as I put my stuff down.

He pointed to the basket that was near the sofa. Shit, I must need glasses because I did not see that.

I walked over and looked down at the little angel sleeping. Victoria. She was named after the Lycan who gave up her life for her and her grandma- Jane's mum.

"Don't wake her up." Williams said before he exited the room. He seemed to be in a bad mood today but I didn't care so I didn't ask.

I tapped Victoria's nose, causing her to wiggle slightly. She was actually a very beautiful baby, thankfully she looked more like Jane and not Caleb except for her eyes that were a weird yellow/golden colour. According to Caleb, all Lycan babies were born with that eye colour and it would change after a few years.

Looking back to make sure Williams wasn't here to scold me, I lifted the baby up gently.

"Hello baby, it's me your favourite auntie Evelyn." I whispered as I rocked her side to side.

"Why are you talking in that manner, you sound hideous." A voice muttered in my ear causing me to almost have a heart attack.

Two strong arms went around me to support my arms and make sure I didn't drop the baby.

"What the hell, you idiot! Why would you creep up on me like that when I'm holding her!" I whisper-yelled looking down at the baby to make sure she was still asleep.

Jacob chuckled and moved away before sitting down on one of the sofa seats and looking me up and down.

Jacob Arcas. The most annoying Lycan in the whole world. Out of all the Lycans he was the one I disliked the most, and then Caleb.

"Why are you here?" I narrowed my eyes at him as his eyes continued to trail up and down my body.

"Stop staring at me like that, I'm holding a baby."

"I see Caleb has not spoken to you, Scott and I will be joining you tonight."

"Hell, no. You're not coming."

Jacob smirked. "I will be coming tonight."

The inuendo had me closing my eyes and taking deep breaths before I screamed and woke the baby up. This how-many-century-year old Lycan always acted like a pubescent boy.

"Are you imagining what that looks like? I can give you a demonstration instead." His words had me snapping my eyes open in heartbeat.

Do not engage with him Evelyn, do not engage.

I put the baby down causing him to laugh.

"Are we doing this now?" he smirked again.

I turned to face him with a glare causing the ridiculous smile on his face to get bigger. "Listen you stupid pervert, I will never have sex with you. Ever."

"I do not agree." He stood up and started to walk towards me causing me to take a few steps back.

He continued until he stood right in front of me, his body almost touching mine. "One day, you will be underneath me, squirming and begging for release. Your hot, writhing body will be aching to be filled by me and I will fill every part of you and I mean every single ho-."

"What are you two doing?" Jane's voice called out from the other side of the room causing me to jump back from Jacob as if he burnt me.

"Nothing." I gasped out, my breath coming out rapidly as if I had ran five miles. My body felt hot and I knew my cheeks were flushed.

Shit, did he...? No he couldn't have. His words had no effect on me.

"Come on, let's get ready." I muttered as I walked towards the door, making sure not to make any eye contact with either of them.

There is a reason why you shouldn't hype up events in your head, they never meet your expectations. I wanted to have a night out with Jane, just the two of us, dancing, getting drunk and not having a care in the world.

But the night did not go as planned. First, both Jacob and Scott came with us for 'protection' and hovered around us, and then Jane spent most of the time sipping orange juice and texting Caleb. Within two hours, Jane said she was tired and wanted to go home and left with Jacob and Scott. They offered to take me home but couldn't let the night end like that.

So here I was, sitting at the bar feeling sorry for myself while I nursed a drink. To make things worse, every few minutes or so, some twat would come over to where I was sat and order drinks, not before 'accidently' pushing up against me or brushing my legs. Maybe it was time to call it a night.

As I felt someone come up behind me I gripped the glass I was holding, tempted to throw it in their face if they tried anything.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" Jacob's smooth voice filled my ears.

"Does it look like I'm having fun?" I muttered as he sat down across me. I watched as he ordered two drinks for us. "Why are you here?"

"Jane wanted to make sure you got home safely."

"As you can see I'm fine, you can go now." I told him, waving one hand to dismiss him and the other to grab his drink and gulp it down.

"Come on, let me show you how its done." Jacob put his hand out.

"Nope. I'm not dancing with you. Knowing you, you'll feel me up and I'm not in the mood to beat you up."

Jacob laughed as he stood up pulling me along with him. "I will not touch you where you do not want to be touched, strictly platonic, I assure you."

"You can see what I'm holding right? I am so close to throwing this in your face." I lifted up the empty glass so he could see.

Jacob ignored me as he removed the glass from my hand before tugging me towards the dance floor.

I decided to go with him, after all what's the worst that could happen?

**********

I grunted as I tried to get comfortable but I was unable to move. Groaning, I opened my eyes and blinked at the unfamiliar room.

Where the hell am I?

I looked down at the strong tanned arm that was keeping me pinned down to the bed, my eyes moved up the arm and to the body it was connected to. The naked man was lying down on his stomach, his face covered by the pillow.

"Shit, Evelyn! What have you done?" I groaned quietly as I stared at the man's back. I had to admit though, he did have a pretty hot looking back.

I pried his large arm away from my waist and put it gently on the bed. The man shifted around a little but didn't wake up. Letting out a huge sigh of relief, I slowly got up from the bed wincing as my body ached.

Damn that guy was good.

I found my clothes scattered everywhere across the room, I quietly tiptoed and grabbed everything that belonged to me. I opened up my bag and was relieved to find my phone, ID and money still in there.

I put my clothes on as quietly as I could, keeping an eye on the man sleeping on the bed. The room had no mirror but luckily I knew the bathroom was only a door away. Grabbing my heels on one hand and my bag on the other, I slowly made my way to the bathroom which had the door wide open.

I shut the door behind me and put my heels and bag on the ground. I knew I probably looked like shit, I could tell by how stiff my face felt. My eyes widened as I looked at my reflection on the bathroom mirror, I looked way worse than I thought.

"Eww."I groaned as I looked at my smeared makeup and messy hair.

I grabbed some toilet tissue and turned the tap on. When the tissue was damp, I began to remove the smeared makeup- well I tried to. When I was satisfied with how my face looked, I chucked the tissues I used into the bin and moved my hair back.

"What the-" I started to say as I saw something on the side of my neck.

It looked like a small black tattoo, with closer inspection I could see what looked like two dots with a letter D in between it with black swirly lines wrapping it together.

There was no way I would get a tattoo on my neck even if I was completely hammered, especially something as ugly as that.

Thinking it was fake or drawn on, I began to rub my neck. I gasped as pain ran down my body, the side of my neck was extremely tender. Shit, I actually got an ugly looking tattoo on my neck?

Nearly plastering myself against rhe mirror, I squinted my eyes to get a better look. I gasped when I realised the two black dots were not actually dots, they were teeth marks.

"Oh my god." I whispered as I shook my head in sudden realisation.

This could not be happening. I can't have a mate's mark on my neck!

My mind wandered back to the man currently sleeping on the bed. What did he do to me?

Anger coursed through my body as I grabbed my shoes. I slammed the bathroom door open and stormed into the bedroom.

You little bitch!" I screamed, throwing one of my heels on his back. "What the hell have you done?"

The man leapt out of the bed as soon as one of my heels hit his back hard. He let out a growl, his body crouching as he scanned the room.

When his blue eyes fell on me, he straightened up and looked at me in confusion. "Evelyn."

"You idiot! Look at what you did!" I yelled pointing at my neck.

His blue eyes widened and he took a step back. His eyes were fixed on my neck for a couple of minutes before they met my eyes.

He looked at me in horror. "Oh fuck! I have marked you as my mate."

School started back up and I was less than enthusiastic as Edward dragged me out of my bed in the morning, unfortunately he was not an alarm I could throw against the wall to let me sleep longer. He had my clothes in his hands, apparently Alice had told him where to find all my clothes, and he stood with an expectant look in his eyes. "I don't wanna." I grumbled as I grabbed my clothes from his hands and began to change, I cared so little at this point that he had barely had enough time to turn around himself."You made me promise I wouldn't let you skip school today." He reminded me."Yeah yeah," I pulled my clothes on and shoved my shoes onto my feet. My stomach threw a large and deep gurgle."Hungry?" Edward asked as he turned around."Opposite!" I yelled as I ran toward the bathroom, feeling the burn in my throat as my stomach betrayed me. He was there, holding my hair back, we had a system down, I'm sure he already had a glass of water in his hand to let me rinse my mouth afterwa

"Nothing to concern yourself with." Edward said with a smile and turned up the TV where George Bailey was busy flirting with a girl over a candy counter. How I hadn't realized we made it that far into the movie already I didn't know."No Edward, don't lie to me." I sat up, placing the bowl of popcorn that was in my lap on the coffee table in front of me."Alice's visions are never the only path we can go on, this was just a variant it's fine." He said dismissively, turning the television up another few notches, only because he knew the louder it was the less I could focus. I could tell he was lying to me, I wasn't sure how I could tell, but I could tell."Edward." I said his voice with such intensity it shocked even me. I was gripping his arm now, my eyes deadest and my brow furrowed. He turned his gaze to me, shocked, and I looked him dead in the eye as I set my jaw. "Tell me. What. Is going. On." I spoke each word with conviction, I was tired of secrets and not knowing the whole tru

November had swept in with a series of flurries, but all the snow melted just slightly before the next snowfall happened. I had had a series of awkward conversations with my father about boys, and about Edward specifically. He insisted on meeting Edward, and of course Edward was all for it. "What am I even supposed to call you." I asked Edward with a panicked gaze. We were sitting on the sofa at his house, Les Mis was playing in the background and it was early, Fontaine hadn't even sold her hair yet."Well what do you want to call me?" He looked down curiously, I was nestled into his chest comfortably, cocooned in a blanket because the whole freezing to death thing was a mood killer.I played with the edge of my sweatshirt sleeve as I thought about it. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to call him, the age gap between us was a tad concerning, even if we just went off the age he stopped at he still had two years on me, and I had only recently turned 15. As far as the school was concer

I woke up the next morning to the smell of biscuits and gravy, and the sound of Bon Jovi drifting up the stairs. Not only was my dad home, he was in a good mood. He had come late the previous night, I was already in bed, and I heard him open my door to check I was there before shutting it and ushering Maddie into his room. I rolled myself out of bed and threw a cardigan that I had kicked under my bed the night before over my shoulders, as the chill of November had already gripped us early this Halloween morning. After finally shoving my slippers onto my feet I wandered my way downstairs. My father stood whisking the milk gravy and singing 'It's My Life' in a hushed tone. When he finally finished the song I erupted into a ton of cheers and clapping. "Encore!" Dad spun around, successfully flinging gravy across the kitchen off the whisk."Hey squirt didn't realize you were up!" The next song began to play from the bluetooth speaker, and he reached over to pause it before returning to th

I was taken on a grand tour, and given a little Cullen family history, before sitting at a table with Edward, Esme, and Carlisle. "So what brought you to Forks specifically?" I asked hesitantly as I ate the amazing stir fry that Esme and Carlisle had whipped up."Other than the weather?" Carlisle said he seemed genuinely relaxed as he lounged back in the dining chair with his arm slung around Esme's shoulders. "It's home." He said it so simply, as if it were the easiest decision he had made."But, you've called many places home?""Yes, but something about forks has always pulled us back." His words were so sure, if I had an unlimited amount of years to live I would probably be that sure too. A chill ran up my spine, I wasn't built for that many years, I was barely built for the 15 I had endured. I didn't hate the Cullen's for what they were, but it was definitely something that wasn't meant for me, what was meant for me I still had yet to discover, but vampirism was off the table by m

Nearly a week had passed. Finally, I was given the okay to ditch my crutch, and Edward and I's relationship, or whatever you wanted to call it, sat oddly in the "watch movies and talk all night and maybe kiss stage." Rose had grown wary of me, and Emmet seemed apologetic enough while still standing by her side. Alice seemed electric with the idea, and Jasper seemed as if he was just happy to see us happy. Carlisle was approving, or so I had been informed, and as told by Edward, Esme whole heartedly approved. Today was the day I was supposed to meet Esme, and was going to see Edward's home for the first time. I was so incredibly nervous that I couldn't stop fidgeting and fixing the hem of my skirt in the mirror. It was the first time I had really gotten to look at my leg in the mirror from this angle in a month, it was striped with nearly faded pink scars that would probably fade to the slightly raised white. Personally I think it made me look like a badass, but Edward seemed saddened

When I finally woke that next morning I only had half an hour to get ready, but Edward was still there. He looked at me with great curiosity on his face as I pulled back to take in the scene. "What?" I laughed lightly and rubbed the sleep from my eyes."Your dreams, do you have that one frequently?" He sat up and stared at me as I pulled myself from my bed and attempted to stretch my leg that was nearly healed. "It's so vivid but it was almost like I couldn't see all of it.""Yeah... I've had it a couple times, it's not always exactly the same but the concept of it usually is." I shrugged my shoulders and made my way over to my dresser, pulling out a black strappy tank top, a pair of ripped jeans, and a gray plaid button up. "Now turn around, I don't care if you have been alive 100 years and seen a million titties, mine will not join the list today." He looked at me with amusement, and I waved him to turn around. Slowly he plopped his face into my pillow where he laughed with his arms

"Just hold on Arabella. Just hold on! We're almost there!" The voice called to me as I watched the woods zip by, the color of red hair fluttering over my eyes, it wasn't my own, this red was deeper and more golden where mine was copper and brass. The sun sparked off whoever was carrying me and I felt their grip tighten. "Don't give up sweet girl please!" I tried to roll my head over to look whoever was carrying me in the eye but just as I began to turn my gaze the world began to fall away and I was falling through the blackness grasping out trying to catch anything to slow my fall. A scream tried to rip from my lungs but something grabbed my throat and cut it off, stopping my breathing all together. My eyes shot open and I sat up in my bed and met a pair of eyes staring directly back at me. They were red eyes just like in the hospital, but this wasn't a man standing before me, this was a woman who looked like she was forged in fire and brimstone. Her eyes cut through the dark and stra

Halfway back to my place I got a message from Gaia saying she wouldn't be able to make it to study for the history test because of an emergency on the home front. With a few words of reassurance I shot a text back over to her and shut my phone down. "Do you want to study with me?" Edward asked, casting his gaze over to me. "I am an expert on all things history.""Listen here primary source." I paused to hold back a laugh. "I would like someone to study with because I cannot study to save my life." With a cheeky smile I passed my gaze back out the window as the green ocean of trees zipped past."Well in that case," Edward countered, "do you want me to stop so you can get some study snacks?""No I should be fine my dad is bringing burgers and shakes from Donnie's tonight to celebrate being back at school." I realized I still had his jacket on at this point, and also that it smelled of honeysuckle, trees, and musk. I played with the edge of the gray tweed jacket as we slowed to a stop in
