“What were you about to do there, fight him?” I slammed the door behind me, my voice higher than usual.

“He very much wanted it, Aria. It's best to match his energy.”

“And disgrace yourself and your guest, me?”

“Why do you suddenly care about your reputation? Last time I checked you never wanted to become and be involved in this.” his voice echoes, mimicking with his hand gestures.

“I never wanted to become whatever you claim I am because you lie to yourself, shutting out everything and everybody. Playing the strong card. And if this is how this new me would live, I would rather stay human.” I drop to the cushion almost drowning to how soft the cushion is.

He stands over the counter, suddenly quiet. He does not reply. He is drenched in thoughts, staring down at the floor. Like something kicked his memory, he is brought back to real life. He shakes his hand, pour out a drink into two cups and walks over to me, handing me one.

He sits, taking a sip of his drink, he sighs.

“Ah! There he is. Always a saviour forever a saviour.” Tyril let out a humourless laugh, slowly walking towards us, with his men behind him hungry for blood. “What is the meaning of this Tyril?” Lucian questioned. “Nothing much, I just came here for one thing and one thing alone.” His eyes glowing with deceit. “We are in no possession of your property Tyril. Please leave us be.” “Of course you wouldn't dare claim my possession, but today I came to take Aria with me.” Me? Who does he think he is? Oh he truly has some guts. “Me? Please, Tyril , there is nothing I would want to do with you.” My voice mixed with pain and disgust but he did not still get the message. “Come on Aria. You know I'm better than this forgotten prince here. You come with me and I will treat you like how you should be treated.” “Aria is not going anywhere with you. You meet her for a night and suddenly she is your interest?” “I guess I cannot control myself because of her beauty.” He shrugs. “Leave Tyril

  • A Vampire's Mark    PAIN!

The old woman's spell intensified. It felt like they were tearing the world out of me, thread by thread. My skin burned, my veins turned to fire, and every breath came with the struggle for air. I could feel my magic fighting back, clawing at my insides, screaming to stay. But the pull was stronger. It dragged the light out of me, inch by inch, until I could no longer tell if I was shaking from agony or from the emptiness that followed. I could hear the Hunter's voices, filled with happiness. “Keep going, it's working. It's working.” they told the witch but suddenly there was a pause in the room. My voice echoed, filling the room with a loud painful groan. Even as pain circulated my body, I was thankful that she stopped. “What happened? Are you done? Is her magic gone?” a Hunter asked the woman. She kept quiet, not answering any of their questions. “Please… let me go. I really do not have anything to say about Lucian.” I cried out. I heard a loud thud on the floor and as I tilted m

Even with everything going on in my life right now. I tried so hard not to neglect my roots—being human. I went back to school, catching up with friends and school. As the sunset sky bled into darkness, I packed my books on a journey to head to the library to cover up more school that I've missed for days. I was interrupted with a knock and poking his head into my room was Ethan. “What are you up to?” he asks entering the room and closes the door behind him. “Nothing much. I was just preparing to catch up on school work. As you know I've missed a lot.” “Yes I know you've missed a lot, Aria. But what I don't know… Is Why you've missed a lot and where you were.” He looks up to me as he drops to my bed. His eyes were very intimidating. “Come on Ethan does it matter? What matters is that I'm here now? Right?” “And then you disappear again for the next five days and make an appearance like you own the school. You know you can always tell me anything Aria. Is anything wrong?” I wish

  • A Vampire's Mark    Always Me!

A hand envelopes my waist, and pushes me to their embrace before I wreck havoc at the “Vampire ball”. Melting into his welcoming warmness, I stagger a bit, my vision like a blank piece of paper accompanied with the eerie sound. Making it seem as if I was the only one in the room but at least I know who's hands I was in. “I'm here Aria, breath. I got you.” his lips brushing my ears as he reassures me. His voice seems to work magic, pushing me back to reality in no time. “What happened?” my voice soaked in total curiosity as I tried to jog my memory of what might have happened. “You almost went goddess mood.” He lets me go off his embrace, his humor not really helping situations. The whole whole room glares at me intensively, the weight of their gaze could possibly push me to the underworld. “Let's leave here. Shall we?” Lucian stretches his hand, a warm smile curling up his lips. Taking his hand, we exited the room, definitely giving them something to talk about. ****I sit on the

  • A Vampire's Mark    Killer Me!

The mansion sinks into darkness, every corner heavy with silence. I press my back against the cold wall, breath shallow, the shattering of glass cuts through the stillness like a scream. My heart pounds so hard I can feel it in my throat. It’s not fear, at least, not entirely. I can fight. I know I can, but how? The air shifts behind me, and before I can turn, a low, calm voice whispers against my ear.“Go to your room and hide. I’ll fight them off.”Lucian.His presence, even in the dark, is grounding, steady where I’m trembling. For a heartbeat, I want to argue, to tell him I can help. But the sound of footsteps closing in swallows my protest. This isn’t the time.I nod, barely. Then I ran.The shadows chase me. Every creak of the floor feels like a target on my back. I slam the door shut behind me and lean against it, chest beating. Below, chaos erupts, glass breaking, furniture toppling, the sharp clash of metal and the deep groans of pain. Lucian’s fighting. But for how long?I
