Chapter Nine: The Test

Silas felt a lump form in his throat as Alpha Zemo questioned him. He had been so careful to keep his past a secret, to avoid drawing attention to himself. But it seemed that his cover had been blown. He knew he had to lie, for revealing his true identity would put him in danger.

He took a deep breath and composed himself. "I apologize, Alpha Zemo," he said, trying to keep his voice steady. "I did not mean to deceive you. My name is Silas. My mother's name was Liara," Silas said. "She was married to a skilled warrior but he died before I was born. His brother also was a warrior and he taught me everything I know. As for where I come from, I am from a small pack in the mountains. We were wiped out by a rival pack, very few of us survived and I have been wandering ever since I was a teen wolf."
