LOGINELIZA'S POV
My first morning at the Alpha's home. I came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel, holding my son, who was also wrapped in his own brand new towel Tina and I bought yesterday, playing with his little hands. We just had our bath together. Couldn't leave him alone now that it's just the two of us. If Tina were here, right after bathing my son, she'd have taken him from my arms so I can have my bath peacefully. But now, it's just the two of us. "Did you enjoy yourself, baby? Yes, you did," I smiled, tickling his face, watching his face brighten up. I laughed happily, lifting my head so I can easily trace my steps to the bed. But all of a sudden, "Goddess!" I shrieked, holding my son close while looking right at the bedroom door in fear! Someone was in my room, watching me like a ghost! "What?" The head maid, who stood at my door with her arms crossed and her face squeezed like she just got into a fight, uttered in a cold tone. My chest was still pounding from the fright I got just seeing her creepy presence in my room. "When did you get here?" I asked, catching my breath while walking over to the bed with my son. The head maid scoffed at my question and said, ignoring the fact that she just scared the crap out of me, "I owe no one an explanation, except for the Alpha." I had a feeling she'd say something like that. It's best I stay quiet and let her say whatever she came here to say to me. Just as I sat down to get my son dressed up, the head maid said, taking a step closer to me, "Now that you're done with your motherly bath time with your son, kindly get yourself dressed and head to the Royal dining room." "The dining room?" I uttered with my brows furrowed in confusion, curious to know if this was part of my rule as a wet nurse. "Will I be having breakfast there? Hmm, that's actually nice," I viewed within, having a light smile at the side of my lips. Earlier, I was thinking about breakfast, wondering if I'd head to the kitchen myself to get myself or wait in my room for someone to bring it over. I was worried about breaking the rules tied to my job. But now the head maid is here to take me to the Royal dining room to eat? "That's really... Wait a minute. The Royal dining hall. Isn't that..." Before my mind can put two and two together, the head maid spoke, heading for the door, "The Alpha will be arriving at the dining hall in the next five minutes. He expects you to join him for breakfast." "The Alpha?" My eyes widened in shock, as I watched the head maid leave my room without waiting to hear what I have to say about this. "Alpha Byron wants me to join him at the dining room? Oh Goddess," I quivered, getting all sweaty. After last night's encounter, I told the goddess to keep the Alpha out of my path so I can breathe peacefully. But as long as I'm in his home, I can't dodge his order or his creepy eyes. "I have to be fast before he storms down here to scold me," I panicked, running over to the closet to grab a clean cloth. After eleven minutes of speeding and panicking, I came out of the room with my son in my arm, hurrying down the path the head maid led me through last night. It's my first time in the mansion and I don't know my way to the dining room yet. There's no maid or guard in sight, so I had to rely on my memory from last night, trailing my way back to the throne room. When I got there, I met a guard who stood at the door to the throne room, and kindly requested for the direction to the dining room. Luckily for me, the guard was nice. Instead of pointing and describing the corners to take, he left his duty post and took me over to the room. On arrival, I happily thanked him for his help, before rushing into the room to meet the Alpha. When I stepped into the wide spacious room, the hair on my skin rose when I laid my eyes on the dark creepy interior of the dining hall, then at the long table at the center of the room. Ten maids —few steps away from each other— surrounded the table like decorations, keeping their heads down as the Alpha, who sat at the very end of the table, ate his meal quietly. With a fork in his hold and a meat attached to the tip, Alpha Byron slowly placed the meat close to his mouth, eating it slowly like time around him had lost its pace. But the moment he heard my footsteps, lifted his eyes and saw me approaching the table, his cold gaze became darker, causing my body to shiver. "Greetings, Alpha," I greeted with a shaky voice, bowing my head respectfully. "What's this?" Alpha Byron questioned in his cold tone, making my heart skip with fear. I lifted my head to see what he meant. Only to find the Alpha glaring at my son, then at me! "I only invited you to my dining hall. Why did you bring your son along?" He questioned harshly, making his voice echo. I could see the maids shivering at his tone, making silent prayers to the goddess to save them from the Alpha's wrath. "I..." I gulped, holding my baby close, lowering my eyes away from him. "I didn't know you wanted me alone. And my son... He's still a baby. Leaving him in the room by himself with no one to watch him is..." "You should have handed him to one of the maids. Or are you afraid that something bad might happen to your son if you leave him with my servants for just a few minutes? Afraid he'll get hurt in my palace?" "No, I didn't mean it that way!" I spoke out in defense, swaying my head at the Alpha. "What I meant was my son is still a few weeks old and can't be left alone. If I had known that you wanted me to come without him, I'd have asked the head maid for her help." "Now that you know..." He snapped his finger, and like a switch, a maid ran up to me and didn't hesitate to take my son out of my hold! "Wait, where are you..." "Sit," Alpha Byron's cold voice echoed around again, commanding me to take my seat. "But my... My son," I whined within, watching the maid exit the dining room with my baby, while I helplessly walked to a chair, far from the Alpha, sitting down and holding back my sadness. Under the table, I held my dress tightly, trying hard to suppress the worry in my heart from engulfing me. "Sit," Alpha Byron repeated like a broken record, making me lift my head to see him looking at another seat, three chairs away from his right hand, waiting for me to move there. A maid already pulled the chair back, so I'd come over and sit. Having no choice, I rose to my feet, made my way to the other chair when suddenly, I felt an ache in my chest which forced me to halt and look over at the door. "My baby," I muttered worriedly, knowing with my whole heart that I sensed my son's yearning cries for me. But I can't leave this room to meet him. The Alpha doesn't want him here. "You already wasted my time by being late, Eliza. If this food turns cold..." He threw me a warning glance which weakened me in my spot, forcing me to give in to his command and sit. When I sat down, two maids came over to serve me my meal, as the room went dead silent. Only the sound of my plate being tapped by spoons could be heard echoing around. As I watched the maids dish my meal in my front, from the corners of my eyes, I could see how fast the Alpha ate his food, like he has been starving for long. This left me surprised because he was the one eating slowly like he was tired. But right after I sat down, he now has an appetite? "If he knew he was that hungry, why wait for me?" I asked inwardly, finding this weird. When the two maids were done, I picked my spoon up, ready to eat my meal when suddenly, the maid who took my baby from me, came rushing into the hall, looking troubled! "Alpha," She bowed, before lifting her head to look at me. That's when I took a good look at her hands and... "Where's my baby?" I got to my feet with fear, startling the maid with my crazy eyes. "Your baby... He..." "He what?! Where's my son?!" I roared, letting my emotions take over!ELIZA'S POV"Stop looking at me, Shrimp. Look elsewhere," Alpha Byron groaned at my son like he's talking to a grown man.His attitude only made my baby giggle like the Alpha was another fun activity for him to pester with his cuteness. This left me baffled."The Alpha now has a problem with my son's stares? What next? My son yawns and he turns the mansion upside down and declares war on us?"I didn't know what to say. All I could do was watch the Alpha growl at my baby, while Aidan giggled, still looking at him."Shrimp, don't you know who I am?" Alpha Byron squinted his eyes, pointing at my son."I am the Alpha of this pack, and I order you to look away or else," He threatened, poking my son on the cheek. That only increased my energetic pup's excitement and giggles. He even grabbed the Alpha's finger and wanted to suck on it!"No!" I freaked out, quickly pulling the Alpha's finger away from
ELIZA'S POV"Oh, look who's awake," I cooed at my son, gently leaning down at his cot to check on him.He makes the tiniest and cutest groan I've ever heard, yawning as I carefully unwrapped him from the blanket I wrapped him in.Those tiny arms came stretching into the air, followed by my son's adorable eyes opening up slowly to find his mother. When his little eyes found me, he gave out the brightest smile ever, kicking his little legs into the air with excitement."Easy there, little pup. Mommy's going to pick you up," I giggled, still checking his clothes then diaper."Wow, someone needs a change. No wonder you're excited to see mommy," I joked, carefully picking him up and heading to the bathroom. After an hour, I came out holding my son who was wrapped in his special towel, and gently placed him on the bed to dress him up.My little Aidan won't stop throwing his legs and arms with excitement. For a pup that's not yet a month old, he sure knows how to surprise his mother with his
ELIZA'S POVThe next day, I was visited by a different maid who came with my food and with the pump for the milk.I asked about Didi, and she told me the head maid wasn't around."She's attending to an errand for the Alpha," The maid shared, walking up to the door."Oh, I see. Wait, are you leaving?" I asked, noticing when her hand reached for the knob of the door. The maid turned to look at me and responded in a calm voice, "Yes, I have an unfinished work in the kitchen. I'll be back soon."She left the room speedily, leaving me alone with my son and my breakfast. If the head maid was around, the maid would have abandoned whatever work she's rushing off to do and stood at the side, waiting for me to be done. But with Didi absent, seems the maids feel relieved."She's a creepy head maid, so I can understand their fear," I chuckled, placing the food on my lap to eat.Eating my breakfast in my ro
ELIZA'S POV"Give him a warm bath before he sleeps. Remember, werewolf pups have delicate skin," Didi advised as we walked into the mansion side by side.I nodded with a smile, thanking her for being so considerate."You're sweet, Didi," I commented, watching her frown like she doesn't like what I just said."I'm just giving you a tip. Don't misinterpret things," She spoke, rolling her eyes.I felt like laughing but held it in.She acts all tough and grumpy, but she's a kind lady behind those thick layers of wolf skin."Now..." She uttered, walking ahead of me. "I'll send a maid over to give you your dinner. Make sure you eat and get those melons ready to work," She threw me one naughty look which got me giggling out.As I followed her, listening to what she was saying, I suddenly caught sight of a maid coming down from the wide large staircase of the mansion, holding a familiar cup."Wait, isn't that the baby's cup?" I gasped within, recognizing it.The cup is transparent so one can
ALPHA BYRON'S POV "Yes. What name did you and your mate give your baby?" I heard the head maid question Eliza while petting that little pup. But she failed to notice the mother's change of mood towards that question. It felt like she was asked an impossible question that has no answer. "It's just a name. Why's she shaking?" I uttered to myself, watching from my hidden spot. The garden is the last place any servant would expect to find me. For the first time in years, I stepped into the garden because I wanted to watch Eliza. After what happened this morning at the dining hall, my mind couldn't stay in place. I'm the one who wanted to keep my distance away from her, but I ignored my own words and invited her to have breakfast with me. I wanted a peaceful meal with Eliza by my side, eating quietly without feeling scared of my presence. But she came along with her son, and that ruined my mood. With that baby around, I'll only be reminded of Eliza's status as a mother and someone
ELIZA'S POV"Sit down and eat. Your stomach must be empty," The head maid said with her usual grumpy look, picking up the tray from where she placed it.She approached me while I sat on the bed, looking at the tray of food she brought before me.It was much, and my hungry tummy grumbled like it's been empty for days."All this for me? Thank you," I appreciated with a smile, ready to lift my hands and take the tray from her. That's when she said, "The one you should be thanking is Alpha Byron."On hearing the Alpha's name, my hands froze halfway, as my mind flashed back to his cold gaze at the dining hall."Alpha Byron?" I uttered in confusion, wondering why she said that. That's when the head maid placed the tray next to me and told me about Alpha Byron's order."He's the one who sent me to bring this much food to you. He said you haven't eaten. How will you perform your work if your stomach is empty? His words, not mine," She repeated, making it clear.I hummed on hearing this, while
