ASHER I came out of my room and saw Mommy laughing. Her head was tilted back, eyes squinting, hand brushing Daddy Lucian’s arm as he chuckled too. She looked... different. SKY By the time I got back home, my bones felt like melted rubber. Visiting the hospital always drained me, especially when it was for something as personal as my cousin’s illness.
