I ran downstairs in full sprints to make sure what I saw was real. I stood behind the backyard window and looked outside to make sure he was still there. But what I saw made my heart flip.

The wolf. My wolfie was staring at my bedroom window. He was just standing there with his front paws and staring at my bedroom, but that's not what made me take a step forward. It was the raw emotion in his eyes.

I don't know how ridiculous it was for me to think that I can see a wolf's emotion in his eyes. But something in my heart said those were the accurate things.

I saw deep longing and guilt in his eyes. I don't know what I am supposed to think right now but the deep emotions in his eyes make me want to open the only barrier that is separating us and spring forward to take him in my embrace.
