“You mean I have to go to one of the brothers' rooms?”Annabel asked, a bit sceptical.
“That’s exactly what I mean” Mrs Jones declares with a warm smile on her face.
The thoughts of Annabel going to one of the brothers' rooms is making her a bit nervous as adrenaline rushes to her blood.
“Do I have to go in there, maybe you should assign something else to me?”Annabel nervously suggested.
“Do you have a problem with cleaning the master room?” She suspiciously questions her.
“No, I don’t have a problem with it. It is just that I don’t want to make any mistake in cleaning the room”Annabel quickly uttered to kill her suspicious eyes that were gazing at her.
“In that case, you aren’t fit to work here”Mrs Jones declares, making Annabel's eyes widened but she recovered immediately.
“I am very capable and very fit to work here”Annabel assures her with pleas evident in her tone.
“Then do as I say”Mrs Jones orders, Annabel nods not wanting to create any more chaos
“You will have to be fast because I don’t want him to see you in his room,”Mrs Jones added before walking away.
On getting to the room,Annabel politely knocks to see if anyone was inside but she didn’t get any response. She then remembered that he wouldn’t be home and she has to be fast in cleaning before he gets back.
She took a deep breath and finally opened the room door. She gasped immediately when she saw his room. It was all white and spotless, the bed was big enough to contain a whole football team. She got closer to the room and she couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw his dressing room, it felt like she was in a clothing store.
‘These people are so filthy rich, this room definitely has to be in another different dimension’She blurted out loud, amazed by the decor of the room.
The room looked so spotless and clean, it made Annabel think on what she really needs to clean in here seeing as the place is clean enough already.
After fifteen minutes, Annabel got tired and decided to take a rest by sitting on the couch. As she was sitting on the couch, her eyes met with a beautiful robe. She wondered how the robe would look on her.
She took a longer stare at the robe and she couldn’t resist it anymore, she stood up from the couch and decided to try on the robe. She put it on and loved the way it looked on her, she had a big smile on her face as she stood in front of the huge mirror in the room.
“What the hell are you doing?!” A voice questions from behind with anger laced in his tone.
Annabel’s heart skipped a beat immediately when she heard the voice, she slowly turned to look at the person and it was the owner of the room standing in front of her. He looked really angry, with his messy hair that covered a little bit of his face and the disgusted look on his face was visible.
“I..am.. so.. sorry” Annabel stammered as she tried to take off the robe.
“Who gave you the right to come into my room and wear my robe?” He coldly asked.
Annabel took the robe off gazing down, she was so scared to look at him straight in the eye.
“I made a mistake, I promise it won’t happen again”She assures him.
“You can have the robe, I can’t wear that anymore knowing that your filthy body has worn them already”He coldly remarked.
Annabel bites her lips to prevent tears from rolling down her eyes, she keeps her gaze down and stands still with fear.
“I am really sorry”She apologized again feeling remorseful.
Annabel kept her gaze down, unable to look up at the pair of eyes that were dangerously piercing into her soul.Annabel could hear the sound of footsteps as another pair of feet were visible as she looked at it firmly.
“What is the matter Andrew?”The voice of the owner of the feet asked.
“It is nothing Albert, it is just some low life thinking she can have her way in my room”The owner of the room whose name appears to be Andrew rudely remarks.
“You are the new house help right” Albert asks, earning a nod as response from Annabel as she was too scared to look up.“Aww she looks so scared,”Albert added, feeling a bit sad for Annabel.
“Well she should be scared, next time she will think twice before coming in here”Andrew coldly stated.
“I think you should calm down a little bit, she is new here” Albert calmly tells him. “Why are you here?Albert questions Annabel.
“I came here to clean, I don’t know what I was thinking about when I put on his robe” Annabel mentally reprimanded her actions.
“You should have known better than to put on someone else’s clothes”He reprimanded her.
“I promise it won’t happen again”She immediately assures Albert at the verge of crying.
“It won’t have to repeat itself again because you are fired!” Andrew announced,Annabel immediately looked up with her eyes widened and immediately fell to his feet.
“Please don’t fire me, I promise I won’t make that mistake again”She pleaded with Andrew as tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Let go of me!” He yells but she doesn't budge as she holds onto his leg wrist.
“You can’t just fire her just like that,” Albert tells him.
“I don’t want her here, her presence irritates me”Andrew disgustingly replies.
“I think that’s enough now!” Albert snaps, feeling annoyed “The poor girl is crying and you still want to fire her”Albert frantically scoffed.
“She isn’t the first I got rid of, why are you defending her?”Andrew curiously questions his brother Albert.
“She is new and needs adjustments, firing her is a bit too absurd”Albert states.
“I promise I won’t make the same mistake again”Annabel assures them.
“Get out of my sight!” Andrew yells but she doesn't leave.
“You need to go now” Albert tells her and she immediately stood up and left in tears.
Albert closed the door As soon as Annabel left and turned to look at Andrew.
“What?”Andrew frowns.
“What the fuck is your problem? Are you really going to pour out your frustrations on her?”Albert declares.
“Fuck!… I hate this!” Andrew yells before smashing his lamp on the wall.
“You need to get hold of yourself, losing a contract isn’t the end of the world”Albert tries calming him down.
“You know how hard it was for me right, I did everything and I still lost to him”Andrew's eyes were filled with rage as Albert stared at him.
“It is not just about losing that contract. I am always losing when it comes to him, firstly it was high school and now our profession too!” He continued before throwing another lamp on the wall.
“Enough,You can’t change anything by smashing these beautiful lamps on the wall”Albert tells him.
“It helps me relieve my stress a little”He calmly responded. Andrew went on and sat on the bed, his eyes immediately went on his robe on the floor “I guess I was a little bit hard on her”He sighs ruffling his messy hair.
“You were mean to her and you also got her fired”Albert added reminding Andrew what had transpired between them.
“Well she can have her jobs back, I mean it was mom who hired her in the first place”Andrew blurted out.
“I should go tell her that she isn’t fired and you didn’t mean it”Albert excitedly uttered as he was about to leave but Andrew's words made him halt in his tracks.
“Wait, why will you do that? Don’t tell me you want to have fun with this one also?”Andrew scoffs, giving him a suspicious look.
“Of course not, why will you even say that?”He defenselessly asked.
“You don’t have to tell her anything bro, the head housekeeper will do that”Andrew sheepishly grinned.
“Don’t give me that look, I have a fiancée remember”He reminds him.
“You didn’t think about that after messing around with the other housekeeper”Andrew pointed out, chuckling slightly.
“You acting like you are innocent”Albert frowns.
“I am not the one with the fiancée” He tells him with a smirk on his face.
“This is what I get for being the older brother”Albert sighs before leaving.
“It wasn’t a choice!” Andrew yells out but he is already gone.
Albert strolled down the hallway, a rare smile tugging at his lips after a quick meeting with the family doctor. But he came to a sudden halt when he spotted Annabel up ahead. His smile deepened. He made his way toward her, slow and deliberate, until he stood just inches away.Annabel looked up, her brows slightly furrowed. “Do you need something, sir?” she asked, her tone even, though there was a trace of curiosity in her eyes.Albert tilted his head, lips quirking in amusement. “You know, it’s not really fair,” he said, mock-pouting. “You call Andrew by his name, but I get stuck with ‘sir’? Why’s that?”A flicker of a smile crossed Annabel’s face. She dropped her gaze, then lifted it again shyly. “Albert.”He grinned. “That’s what I like to hear.”They held each other’s gaze for a moment—quiet, tentative, almost tender. It had been two months since Annabel’s pregnancy was announced. In that time, she’d found comfort in Andrew’s steady presence. Their bond had grown stronger, more na
The tension in the Torres mansion thickened with every passing day. It hung in the air like smoke—stifling, bitter, impossible to ignore. Mrs. Torres couldn’t hide her disdain any longer. Annabel’s continued presence in the house was an open wound she refused to let heal. Pregnant or not, all Mrs. Torres saw was a threat—an intruder deliberately tearing her family apart. As soon as she entered the kitchen, her sharp eyes locked onto the housekeeper. “Why are you still fussing around with all this?” she snapped at Mrs. Jones, who was stacking clean plates with trembling fingers. “I’ve been waiting for my coffee. What’s the delay?” “I—I’m sorry, ma’am. I’ll get it right away,” Mrs. Jones replied, her voice laced with apology and the faintest tremor of fear. “That’s not what I asked,” Mrs. Torres said, her tone now colder, more cutting. “Why the delay?” Mrs. Jones hesitated, wringing her hands. “It’s just… since Annabel hasn’t been able to do her chores, I’ve had to cover for h
Author’s POVAnnabel’s fists trembled at her sides, knuckles whitening with fury as she closed the distance between herself and Esme. The tension between them crackled like a live wire. Esme, unfazed by Annabel’s rage, met her gaze with a strange calmness. Her voice, though quiet, carried an unsettling certainty.“Yes… I got you guys drunk,” she confessed. “And I’m sorry.”The words had barely left her mouth when Annabel’s hand flew through the air, landing a sharp, stinging slap across Esme’s cheek. The crack echoed in the room, startling Andrew, who flinched in disbelief.Esme winced, her head turning with the force of the blow. Her hand rose slowly to cradle her cheek, her expression unreadable.“You’re a beast,” Annabel spat, her voice trembling with a mix of rage and betrayal. “You’re not even worthy of being called human.” Her breathing grew heavy, and her eyes burned with unshed tears. “What did I ever do to you, Esme?” Her voice broke, wounded and raw. “What could I possibly h
Author’s POV“No!” Annabel’s voice rang out, sharp with fury. Her eyes blazed as she stood her ground. “I will never give up my child.”Across the room, Mrs. Torres scoffed, folding her arms tightly. “We don’t need her child,” she said coldly, her voice dripping with disdain. “She can get an abortion. Tracy and Albert are getting married soon—they can have a child, a real one, not from some worthless girl.”Juliet’s fists clenched at her sides. Her jaw tightened. “Watch your mouth,” she snapped, stepping forward. “I don’t care how old you are—I will slap you if you speak like that again.”Mrs. Torres blinked, taken aback by Juliet’s boldness. “You see that? That one’s already disrespecting me!” she shrieked, turning to her husband. “I don’t want them here. They need to leave.”Andrew moved closer to Annabel, his expression softening as he gently took her hand. “No one is taking your child from you,” he said firmly. “It’s yours. And he will be protected.”Then he turned to his father,
Author’s POVThe room fell into a tense, suffocating silence. Mrs. Torres stood frozen, her eyes wide with disbelief, the weight of Andrew’s words crashing down on her like a tidal wave.“What did you just say?” she asked again, her voice trembling, laced with stunned disbelief. Annabel swallowed hard, her hands trembling as she stepped closer to Juliet, seeking silent comfort beside her.“What the fuck are you saying to me?” Mrs. Torres’ voice rose, her tone now edged with fury, barely restrained.Andrew’s jaw clenched, but he didn’t back down. “You heard me, Mum. Albert and I… we’re both responsible for her pregnancy.”It was like the floor beneath her feet gave way. Mrs. Torres staggered back a step, pressing a hand to her chest as if trying to hold her heart in place. Her sons moved instinctively toward her, but she threw a hand up, stopping them cold.“Don’t come close to me,” she warned sharply, regaining her posture with visible effort. Her gaze darted between the three of them
Author’s POV“Annabel, you need to calm down,” Juliet said gently, concern tightening her voice. “Panicking won’t solve anything.”Annabel clawed her fingers through her hair over and over again, her movements frantic and uneven. A broken laugh escaped her lips—sharp and hollow—as tears spilled from her eyes. She suddenly turned to Juliet and laughed again, louder this time, as if something inside her had snapped.“I’m pregnant, Juliet,” she whispered, her voice thick with anguish. “I’m pregnant… do you hear me?” Her tone escalated into a scream. “It’s over for me. My life is over.”She dropped to her knees, collapsing like her bones had lost the will to hold her. Juliet rushed forward, trying to lift her, but Annabel resisted, remaining curled on the floor like a shattered version of herself.“Annabel, please,” Juliet pleaded, tears now running freely down her cheeks. At last, Annabel let Juliet help her up. Her face was pale, her lips trembling.“Look at me,” Juliet said, gently tak
