A lie

“Hello dear Sarita” he approaches her and takes her hand look “I brought you these balloons, I hope you like them”.

Sara smiles shyly and takes the balloons in her hand where the catheter is not placed, the nurse withdraws making way for Mason.

When he saw her awake, he could not even imagine Sara's natural beauty, she has a clean and fresh face and despite the fact that time has passed the wires connected to her face have not affected her smoothness at all, he passes his hand over her face making her move away a little.

“Who are you?”  Sara asks him with a voice that is still very soft and with a low tone, he does not arouse any kind of confidence in her and does not feel that his face is known.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Mason Clark.”

"But who are you, my brother?" My friend?...

The nurse looks at Mason, according to the information he had given at the hospital he was her boyfriend, so she confidently and somewhat embarrassingly responds.

"Sarah, I'm your boyfriend," her cheeks blush as she tells her this.

“My boyfriend?” Sara's cheeks also blush, for her to have seen that handsome boy made her stomach twist, although she didn't remember anything, she would like to feel familiarity with him, if he was her boyfriend there really should be some.

"Yes, we were just starting out when you had the accident”.

“Yes, the doctors have already informed me that I had an accident, I was run over, was it true?”

“Yes Sara, but now the important thing is your recovery.”

“What about my family? I guess I must have parents, siblings, or someone besides you”.

"Well, I've tried to look for them, but since we were just starting to go out, I didn't have time to meet them, the truth is I've been trying to look for them, but I still can't inform them of your condition”.

“How long had we been together Mason?”

At that moment his mind became clouded, every time he spoke to her only a new lie came out of his mouth, he did not know how long this situation was going to last, but he did know that Sara's reaction was vital for his recovery, and at any moment he could recover his memory.

“We've only been dating for two months.”

“Very little time to be honest and I didn't introduce you to my family, do I have friends? Who was I before the accident?” she asks, quite confused.

“Well, Sara, I don't know much about the circles that surround you, we were introduced to a mutual friend, one who worked with you in a private clinic, he introduced us, and we started dating”.

"And that mutual friend, has he come to visit me yet?"

"Oh, no, he's out of the country, but as soon as he arrives, he'll come" Mason becomes quite nervous because he doesn't have any answer to everything Sara is asking.

She immediately turns pale and her tension drops, her hands begin to shake looking at Mason. She was really affected by everything he was telling her, even though he was a good person and had been the one who took care of her for a long time she still didn't feel something that related him to him, and in her situation everything that happened was more confusing, she had no idea who he was,  of what his name was and the sight of such a handsome man caused her a sea of sensations.

"Well, Mr. Clark, it's been a lot of strong emotions for the lady here, she needs to rest so please leave, come back in the afternoon."

"But I want to stay with her," he replies, refusing to leave her.

"I know sir, it's been a long time, but keep in mind that she just woke up from a coma and it's not easy to react, please come out."

Sara doesn't flinch, turns her face to the window, and doesn't even give Mason a chance to approach her to say goodbye.

Mason leaves the room, somewhat confused by what just happened, at that moment he had two options, continue with the lie that he was Sara's boyfriend and invent a life that she had not had, or simply tell him the truth about the accident and wait for the consequences that this would bring her, very possibly she would want to report him and put him in jail.

This thought gave him chills, but it was the most convenient thing to do at the time, he couldn't keep filling her head with lies, because when he remembered what he did to her, it was logical that she was going to hate him.

He had taken charge because the goodness of her heart was greater than the selfishness of her friends who fled the place, he wanted to get her to safety until someone from her family showed up and took care of her
