AMNESIA

For Mason, going to the hospital had become routine, as had sitting next to Sara's gurney without saying a word, only listening to the beep of the machine that kept her alive, only watching her body slowly fade under the lamps that illuminate room number six. That daily monotony that was not only killing Sara, but also killing him. So, the news the doctor had given him that day made him regain faith in Sarah's speedy recovery.

Mason walks over to Sarah's gurney, she looks like a statue. Although he looks at her shyly he realizes in more detail that she is a very beautiful girl, he would love to know what the color of her eyes is, although he does not admit it these days in his company despite the fact that they do not speak to each other, that she is lying there and does not say anything, he has taken a lot of appreciation for her,  Or in his being he felt something akin to love.

“But how beautiful you woke up today, Sara, I would love to know that you listen to me, I want to ask your forgiveness, because of me and my friends you are there in that bedridden and I can't do anything. I hope you like flowers, I bought them thinking about you and the color of your skin, which is beautiful.

After these words, Mason sees how suddenly she begins to slowly open her eyes, it seems that she has a hard time doing so and in a soft moan comes out of her throat, as if she feels pain as she tries to remove her lips.

“Nurse! Nurse, help please, Sara is starting to react, but she can't do it, someone help me please. Mason screams, terrified to see Sara suffer like that.

A doctor and a nurse who is making the rounds near Sara's room run out to attend to her.

"Please get away, get out of the room, immediately stabilize yourself," the doctor says to Mason.

He walks away from the room and immediately runs to call the only person who is available to him since the accident.

“Hello” Gloria answers the phone.

“Hello nanny, I have something to tell you, I'm a little nervous.”

"Of course, son, did something happen to Sarah?"

"Yes nanny, she woke up”.

“Son, but that's great news, if she does it is possible that she will recover soon, do not be discouraged, because you do not rest a day from going to the hospital and going out with your friends.

“Which friends’ nanny? they all left me when the accident happened, they blocked me from their social networks, and none of them messages, I don't plan to look for them either, I was always there for them or now no one is for me”.

"I'm sorry my child, but you count with me unconditionally, your parents communicated that they have to postpone their trip for about fifteen more days.

“I imagined, if I see them twice a year it's a lot, they're never here, it seems like everything that happened was a game.

"I know son, I'm so sorry, but I'm glad Sara is better, please keep me informed of her condition.

“Thank you, nana, for being there, I love you, I'll call you later.

For Mason the next few hours were eternal, he had no information about Sara's condition and no doctor told him what was going on, countless ideas went through his mind, he did not know exactly what he was going to tell Sara about who he was if he was really going to tell her the truth about the accident.

He didn't have any information about his family either, currently he was the only thing that poor woman had, and that worries him, the mere idea of presenting himself to her caused him anxiety and desire to vomit, he didn't know how he was going to react when he saw it.

After many long hours of waiting, he sees someone coming out of Sara's room and approaches him.

"Mr. Clark, well I want to tell you that Sara has fully woken up from the coma, we took some time, because we had to see what state her senses were in, a person who comes back from the coma always has some part of his body or brain affected.

“Yes doctor, I know, thank you for informing me about your condition, tell me now, did Sara finally lose her memory?

“Yes, unfortunately she says she doesn't even remember who she is, it was very overwhelming for her to wake up and not know where she was, she began to scream desperately and somewhat aggressively, we even had to put her on a sedative to make her sleep again, I advise her to go home to rest and come back tomorrow, she will find her calmer.

"I understand, doctor, can I see you?"

"Not for now, rest, we'll see you early in the morning," the doctor pats Mason on the back as a sign of comfort.

The situation was now getting out of control, he had no idea of Sara's reaction the next day when she saw him, but the loss of memory would make it easier for him to get closer to her, during the time he took care of her feelings had grown in him, especially a protective instinct, something that with his life full of eccentricities he would never have imagined feeling.

When he gets home again, it's just hard for him to fall asleep, so Mason opens his computer, wanting to look up Sara's condition, looking for information on something within his reach that can do for her.

... coma... the person is alive, but unable to speak or move...

... Coma rarely lasts more than four weeks.

... When patients wake up, they tend to lose sensitivity, and forget some basic things, such as talking, eating or even being able to walk.

Anything could be expected in Sarah's situation, and though she tried to sleep, her anxiety was greater than her weariness.

The next day...

Mason buys some beautiful colorful balloons that he finds in a on place, the way to the hospital, today she is shiny and happy, she had proposed to make visits to Sara different now.

He arrives at the hospital and can't believe what he's seeing, the woman he had seen bedridden a few days ago was sitting receiving food from the hands of a nurse, when he entered the room, she immediately turned her gaze to him, not recognizing him he doesn't make any gesture and continues eating,  The nurse looks at him and in a gesture of solidarity tells him that it's okay for him to continue.
