Chapter Forty-Six

As the last of the elders left the room, Prince Amareux let out a deep sigh and ran his hand through his hair. I could see the anger in his eyes, and I knew that he was about to let loose on them.

"You have no right to interrogate my guests like that," he began, his voice laced with fury. "Especially not prospective Lunas of this kingdom. I will not tolerate any disrespect towards her or anyone else in this castle."

I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me as I listened to him defend me. It was comforting to know that he had my back, even in the face of his own council.

As we made our way back to my room, Meredith and I couldn't help but talk about what had just happened. "I can't believe they would treat you like that," she said, her voice filled with anger. "You deserve better than that."
