Floopy was enjoying the silence in the greenhouse and thinking of a new song. Amanda had requested for a new musical to be performed because she was bored. It had been a while since the last musical and the archmage was dying for new entertainment in this boring time crack. Asahina was slightly apologetic when she came looking for him to pass on Amanda's new request.
Truthfully, Floopy didn't mind. He would not have minded writing songs every day if the principal wanted it. Composing music was his greatest joy and it would be great if he could stay in the Academy forever and not just five years.
Asahina left Floopy the special access card to the forbidden forest that only a few special students were allowed to enter. For Floopy, it was his favourite hideout and also the place that he could forget about everything for a while. Klick was revising for tomorrow's test when Floopy returned. He was slightly surprised because the composer was back earlier than expected. Was his inspiration really good? How did he finish composing an entire ensemble piece in less than an hour?"Did it go well?" the bat demon asked but didn't receive a reply. Instead, he heard Floopy throw himself on the bed with a sniffle.Alarmed, Klick put down his books and went over. "Hey," he approached with a soft voice. "What's wrong? Did someone bully you on the way?"Floopy shook his head and cried harder. How could he put this into words? The sound of Syris' screaming still haunted his ears and Floopy hugged Klick who was taller than him. The bat demon bent down awkwardly and sat on the small boy's bed, patting his back and pushing his ears out of the way. Floopy might be bullied a lot but he never bawled like this before and the roommate found himself worrying if things had gone too far."What happened?"

Writing a letter to Syris was more nerve-wracking than getting approval from Amanda about the new musical. Floopy had discarded more than ten drafts and Klick remained silent, trying to not add more pressure to the panicking panotti who didn't think he was eloquent enough."I'm done! Klick, give me some opinions?"The bat demon stopped his revision, It should be around three in the morning now and Floopy still hasn't revised for tomorrow's test. The test was easy and Floopy let out a sigh of relief after the papers were collected. Klick was fast asleep even though it was lunch and the panotti left a note for his friend before sneaking out of the classroom. He was going back to the greenhouse for lunch before the bullies could steal his food.At the greenhouse, Floopy's stomach growled and the panotti dug into his meal quickly. He spent the time listening to the sound of nature and thought about how he could write a song that would suit Prince Syris. Although he had damaged his vocal cords badly, Floopy thought that there was an unusual charm to his voice that was different from the other creatures and stage actors.Syris' talking voice was like wool. It was warm and a little scratchy but soft to the ears and very pleasing to listen to. Due to the damage done to his cords, Floopy wasn't sure how the original voice sounded like. Klick was worried. Floopy had refused to go anywhere else apart from classes and back to his room. The composer was so absorbed in making the 'perfect song' that he started neglecting his meals and sleep. It had been going on for a few days and Klick had never seen his friend in such a state. It was worrying."Come on, you have to sleep."Floopy ignored the bat demon. "One last round," he mumbled and looked through the sheet music again. Today was the fifth day and Floopy did a lot of research about rap music. He even thought about the entire choreography for the musical that featured Syris as his muse. This was the theme song and he wanted it to be flawless when he delivered it to Syris.Knowing that his little friend wouldn't budge, Klick sighed and went to bed on his own. To save his friend from crying at the bad news, Klick spent the whole night thinking of a good way to make Syris come to Floopy instead. Knowing that the panotti had low self-esteem but great musical talents, Klick decided to propose for Floopy to make the song without vocals so that they could turn this undelivered song into an advertisement over the academy's radio program.Floopy cheered up when he heard that it wasn't Prince Syris who rejected his songs but the shark bodyguard who was overly protective. Not wanting Klick to get eaten by the foul-mood shark merman, Floopy agreed to go with a different approach. He wasn't going to give up on helping Syris secretly. One good turn deserves another.The duo worked hard with Klick attending classes and buying food on Floopy's behalf. The night of the audition finally arrived and two hundred auditionees gathered by the pool of the forbidden forest. Floopy was as nervous as the auditionees and Klick had to smoosh his friend's cheeks together to get him to stop talking."Don't think about useless things," Klick told his friend sternly. "From now on, you're not Floopy the unwanted panotti. You're Floopy the great musician that everyone loves. Even if something goes wrong, nobody can take music away from you and I know that there will be at least one person among the auditionees who wouldn't hate you for who you are. Just go out there and do your best. He will show up and you're doing this for him, aren't you?"Floopy nodded and took a deep breath after Klick let him go. He was dressed up in a very ridiculous costume that Klick borrowed from an unknown source. Klick was still recovering and Bruce was taking care of him so there was nobody around to disturb Syris and Floopy in the greenhouse. Nobody bothered them for cutting class either so they were able to make some progress for the musical that Amanda refused to cancel despite the poor response.They went through the songs that Floopy prepared and invited a few friends from the forest to help.“Alright, this part is the chorus.
