OLENA

His face was the first thing I saw when my eyes fluttered open as he was still in sleep. A lazy smile tugged at my lips even as a dull ache lingered low in my body, a reminder of the night we’d had.

He was already turned toward me, his chest rising and falling in slow breaths, and for a moment I just watched him knowing the man who rarely allowed himself this kind of rest.

I had slipped out earlier to ease myself, and when I caught sight of the clock, the hands pointed to nine. That alone made my heart skip because Abraham almost never slept this long. He needed it, though, and seeing him like this, softened me in ways I didn’t expect.

I leaned closer, I brushing my lips gently over his. He didn’t wake up, he just shifted slightly, his jaw clenched before relaxing again. I stayed there, close enough to breathe in his scent, before pulling back with a quiet thought blooming in my head.

Maybe I should cook for him... bring it here, let him open his eyes to me and something good w

  • ABRAHAM — The Lycan King   130. The one behind it.

Charles and his assistant, Connor, seated quietly beside him, shrugged his black suits and bowed their heads in respect to the Wills family. His movements were polished, every gesture carrying that calm elegance he was known for.“I came in honor of reminding you about the occasion coming up next week,” Charles said, his voice even and refined, though his eyes flickered with a hint of apology. “Mind my manners, I know I shouldn’t be the one here.”Chloe and Selene exchanged a quick glance before shaking their heads.“Oh no, it’s perfectly fine,” Selene said warmly, her lips curling into a welcoming smile. She gestured toward the dishes spread out before him.“Please, have a taste. Make yourself at home.” Chloe nodded absently, though her mind wasn’t on the conversation. A strange thought slipped into her mind, what if she tried to seduce Charles? If she could marry him, she’d leave this place behind and live in the same kingdom as Olena. The idea burned in her chest. She couldn’t sta

Charles blinked, his jaw dropping. “What?” he barked, disbelief tearing through his voice.Umbriel’s lips trembled as if every word cut her own tongue. “You heard me,” she whispered, her chest heaving. “She’s both a witch… and a werewolf.”Charles straightened, the corners of his mouth twitching with a wicked grin. His eyes gleamed, hungry, like he’d just stumbled upon treasure. He could almost taste the opportunity burning in the air, to take her powers. The thought of her becoming the future Queen of the kingdom had gnawed at his pride.“But why would the Moon Goddess do such a cruel thing?” Charles asked, confusion twisting across his face.Umbriel’s hand trembled as she lowered the calabash onto the red cloth spread over the wooden floor. The dull thud echoed in the room like a final judgment. “She’s impartial,” she muttered bitterly. “Placing the kingdom in the hands of a little girl… it’s nothing less than a slap to the face.”Charles leaned forward, eyes narrowing. “So we can’t

Olena yanked the bat from Rubbie’s grip and flung it across the ground with a sharp clatter.“Hey!” Rubbie snapped, her face twisting with anger. Without thinking, she swung her palm across Olena’s cheek, the slap snapping her head to the side. For a heartbeat, silence. Then Olena slowly turned her head back, her eyes glinting. A scoff slipped past her lips.In the next instant, she shoved Rubbie backward, knocking her flat onto the floor. Olena straddled her waist, pinning her down as her hand came crashing across her face.Smack.“Help!” Rubbie shrieked, but each cry only earned her another slap.Smack. Smack.Olena’s strikes grew harder, fiercer, until the sound echoed in the air. Blood burst from Rubbie’s nose, smearing down her lips, her screams dissolving into choked sobs as Olena’s hand kept finding her face. “Olena, that’s enough!” Zinnia’s voice shook as she wrestled Ava to the ground, locking her arms so she couldn’t move.Ava thrashed beneath her grip, teeth bared. Zinnia’

Olena sat on the cold cement stone just outside the castle walls, the air was filled with the scent of pine drifting from the forest nearby. Her fingers idly plucked a small wildflower that pushed through the ground at her feet. She twirled its fragile stem as Kane’s voice filled the silence.“Do you know,” Kane leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees, his eyes on her, “I was the first person to find out he’s your mate?”Her spine straightened at once. The flower froze in her hand as she turned to him, disbelief flashing across her face. “What?” she whispered, her voice rang out faster than she intended.Kane lifted his palms, a faint smile tugging at his lips as if to calm her. “Relax. I’m not a bad person. I don’t see anything wrong with it.”Olena let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. She dropped her gaze back to the flower, brushing the petals with her thumb, as if the little bloom could anchor her restless thoughts.“It was only a matter of time before it slipp

Curiosity gnawed at Morgan until it dragged her feet. She trailed after them, careful to slow her pace, feigning a casual stroll as though she had business of her own. Her eyes, however, never strayed far, watching as Abraham and the others disappeared into his private chambers. A hot twist of jealousy knifed through her chest, but she swallowed it down, forcing her expression smooth, ignoring the hurt that clawed at her heart. She mounted the stairs and when she reached the hallway, the sight waiting for her made her pulse stutter as she saw Olena, slipping quietly out of the chamber. Morgan’s heart sank like a stone in water. Her nails bit into her palms as her fists clenched tight, and without thinking, her pace quickened, anger propelling her forward.Olena caught Morgan’s glare and rolled her eyes, striding forward as if she hadn’t noticed her at all. But Morgan blocked her path, fury burning in her stare, and without warning she seized Olena’s wrist, shoving her hard into the s

  • ABRAHAM — The Lycan King   125. Silenced.

THIRD PERSONAbraham and Olena had to get out of there, with no choice. Olena’s looked at how his face was hard, every bones in his face was trying to force itself out of the skin especially his jaw as she pulled Abraham along, holding his arms. She didn’t love Ronan anymore, not a single spark left, but she needed him alive to see her rise, to choke on the sight of her thriving in ways he could never imagine. If she hadn’t dragged Abraham out of that place, Ronan would already be nothing but ashes. She could feel the heat radiating off Abraham’s body, his rage burning through his skin. Maybe part of Ronan was already scorched. Maybe he deserved worse for the questions he dared to throw, for the way he pressed when he should have stayed silent. And Chloe, her wide eyes told Olena enough. She hadn’t known about her being mates with Abraham. No one had told her. That shock on her face was proof.Olena’s mind wouldn’t rest because who had told him? How did Ronan even know she was Abrah
