OLENA

"Olena?"

His brows lifted in surprise as his gaze met mine. “Where are you off to? Picking herbs or something?”

I froze. He was the one following me all along… but how was I supposed to ask him about it?

I forced a smile. “What about you? What are you doing here?”

“Uh… I came to see someone,” he said, scratching the back of his neck. “I think she’s on her way now.”

He glanced at his watch just as I let out a quiet sigh.

“Oh, here she is,” he added quickly, then turned to me. “Make sure you show up for your practicals, alright?”

I nodded slowly and watched him walk away but then I saw it. Behind him was that same animal I’d seen in Zinnia’s room.

So I was right, he was his bodyguard or beta or whatever.

He glanced back at me with a sharp scoff, his eyes flashing with something between annoyance and warning, before he looked away.

What was that? If it wasn’t Alaric, then who? Or… was he just pretending? Trying to throw me off?

I started walking again, lost in thought, when that se

OLENA Then I caught the subtle nod Abraham gave me, signaling for me to follow as he turned and walked away.I lowered my head respectfully and started after him, feeling his gaze burn into my back. I couldn’t risk looking over my shoulder. When I saw he was heading toward his private chambers, my steps faltered. That place, it was the reason she’d put me through all that hell yesterday, and I didn’t want to go through it again.I froze, hesitating, but then remembered Abraham had the upper hand. The worst part was that even though he had the power, he never bothered to clean up the mess he caused, just left me to suffer. How was it that his future Luna wasn’t allowed inside his private chambers, yet I, a slave, could go there freely? And if it was really about me being his personal slave, then what about his Beta or Catzn, why couldn’t they go in too?He was the root of all this, and honestly, I couldn’t even blame Morgan as she’d only acted out of jealousy, and somehow my life was

OLENAGasps spread through the hall, but Zinnia only scoffed, letting the insult roll right off her.“Are you mad they don’t think you’re prettier than her?” Zinnia shot back. “Mad that he called you a fucking monkey and called her an angel? Is that why you’re so pissed?”Ava’s face darkened, her jaw tight as she clenched her fists and slapped Zinnia across the cheek.“What the hell do you know about me and Zubby, huh?” she snapped, breathing hard. “And what you said isn’t even right, you fucking cunt!”Who's Zubby now? Maybe the guy from yesterday? Someone shouted from across the dining hall, “Y’all better tell her to wrap that white cloth back around her hair, it looks like a rag on a dead dog!”Laughter exploded everywhere, stabbing straight through me, but I tried to stand still and keep my head up. June’s hand closed around mine, grounding me.“Yes, take her away,” Zinnia hissed, rolling her eyes. “Let’s see how they're gonna hurt you, Morgan’s bootlicker.” She reached out to s

OLENAI woke with a pounding headache, forcing myself upright as a groan slipped out. I pressed my palms against my temples, trying to steady the spinning in my head. The alarm shrilled four a.m. instead of three, sending another stab of pain through my skull just as the bell clanged, calling us out for morning baths. My mind was a blur and the last thing I could remember was being at the party with June and Zinnia, and then… nothing.Stepping outside to line up with the others, I felt eyes burning into me. Some girls covered their mouths, giggling, while others just laughed outright.“What the fuck is this?” one girl scoffed, her voice dripping with disgust.Confused, I ran a hand through my hair, catching the way more people were staring, pointing, even reaching to touch it as I stood in line. Was something wrong with me?“More like a green-haired girl now,” someone laughed, their voice sharp and mocking. My heart sank. I reached for my hair, dragging the strands down, and froze — i

OLENA“Got anything to say, baby girl?” one of the girls taunted, smirking.I stayed silent, eyes fixed on Morgan–dressed in a yellow gown, who looked like she could swallow me whole.“Gosh, this is so boring,” another girl sighed, stepping closer while swinging a whip in her hand.Panic jolted through me. I glanced at the door, shot to my feet, and twisted the handle, but it was locked.“You think you can run away, huh?”My heart thudded painfully as I turned back. The girl was grinning, then grabbed my hair and flung me across the floor, sending me sliding until I landed right at Morgan’s feet.My hair was a tangled mess, falling over my face. Morgan lifted her foot and kicked me hard, pain bursting through my cheek.“You can’t be the vessel, right?” she whispered, leaning closer.I had no idea what she meant — all I wanted was for her to leave me alone. “I mean, do you even know how many people hate you?” Morgan hissed. “Why do you keep annoying everyone, you dumbfuck?”She slappe

OLENAA cold wave rushed through me as his breath, reeking of alcohol, hit my face. My heart pounded as I tried to push his hands off my shoulders, but he just dragged me with him through the crowd.Someone reached out and yanked at my hair, tearing apart my bun until my strands fell loose.“Her hair is actually real? Wow, I thought it was fake,” a girl laughed nearby. He kept pulling me forward, trying to haul me onto the stage, but I dug my heels in, refusing to move. I was too shy, too reserved to stand up there like some showpiece.“Please, don’t take me out there,” I begged, voice trembling. He leaned down, his hot breath brushing my ear. “I thought you were courageous,” he sneered, raising an eyebrow. “Where’s that brave girl now, huh?” He was still bitter about how I’d handled him in Zinnia’s room, I was sure of it.I glanced around frantically, searching for Zinnia, but she’d completely vanished into the crowd. Then he turned me to face the audience, voice booming. “We just wa

  • ABRAHAM — The Lycan King   42. Embarrassing her.

OLENANo matter how I tried to explain it, there weren’t enough words to capture how terrifying this man really was. Every time he called me, every time he touched me, it only got worse. There wasn’t a single trace of kindness in him, not even buried under all that cruelty. He was just... bad all through. After forcing me to take him into my mouth, he didn’t even pause before telling me to follow him out and fix coffee for him and his uncle as I frowned my face throughout.“What the hell is going on in your head?” June asked, shaking her head while staring at me.I let out a heavy sigh. “It’s so bad I feel like hanging myself,” I mumbled, wrapping my hands around my neck as if to test the thought.June crossed her arms. “Why don’t you do something that’d make him hate you? Then maybe he’d stop treating you like his personal slave.”I dropped down on the bed, hugging my chest. “The only way to do that is to become a traitor,” I whispered. "I saw the King's guard, Sam or whatever every
