"What do you mean something urgent came up and you had to leave her alone. You made the same excuse last week... Are you even sure she has been adhering to the doctor's rules" Rose yelled and I winced because the aggravating sound of her voice was like sandpaper scratching my eardrums? She was pissed and she had every right to be but I wasn't going to apologize for needing a break. I was already sacrificing a lot for them, so I didn't understand why she had to be so hostile.

"I had to take care of my business," I got out calmly when all I wanted to do was yell in her face that she had no right to speak to me as if I was her servant. For God's sake, I was doing them a favor that could land me in jail if it ever got discovered. Just because they'd helped me and my family, I had to be in servitude to them for the rest of my life.
