The boy then laughed, teasing him about believing in comics and even getting scared. He was not scared of the comical werewolf but he was scared that he was a real werewolf. The boy did not believe in werewolves but he knew he existed, Hank existed.
His mother had started to suspect things when he was sixteen. He was no longer in bed during her usual dawn checkup and each time he came home, she would ask him where he had been all through the night.
"Taking a walk." He would always answer her.
It was a bad lie and he too knew she always did not believe him but she always kept quiet. She was not the type to scold a child or pester them and neither was his father. They were great parents and he felt extremely guilty about hiding things from them, but he had to. He knew they would accept him for anything and everything he was but he would not tell them about him. They were worried about him and though they did not say it, most especially his mother, he knew she was worried about his night absence.
He was in his room that night, it was not a full moon and he lay on his bed but he was not sleeping, he could not sleep. He did not know why but he knew he could not sleep. His door cracked open and he knew who that was, his mother. His father rarely ever came into his room, he only came if he had something important to tell him and he definitely never came at night. He closed his eyes shut, pretending to be asleep. He could feel his mother walk into the room and sit on the bed.
"I know you are not sleeping, Fay." She said.
Of course, she knew, his lamp was still on and bright and she knew that he never slept with the lamp on. He opened his eyes and sat up on the bed. He could see a smile on her beautiful face.
"What is wrong mom?" He asked her.
She did not say anything, she took his hands into her hands and caressed his hands gently.
"Where are you always at by dawn Fay?" She asked.
Her voice was gentle and loving.
"Taking a walk Mom." He replied to her.
She did not speak. She did not object to his reason and she knew it was a lie. She was still caressing his hand.
"We are worried. Your father also noticed your absence, Fay." She told him.
"There's nothing to worry about Mom." He reassured her.
"Just be careful." His mother said.
He nodded and she told him to back to bed. He laid back on the bed and she came over him and kissed his forehead. She tucked him into the sheets and went to the door, she stood there and told him to turn off his lamp. He did and she went out of the room and he could hear the door close behind her. He did not open his eyes again, he just left them closed until he fell asleep.
The next night was the night that things changed for him. The next day went as usual. He went with his mother to her stall in the market and helped her make sales and when it was evening, they came back home. His mother prepared dinner and when they all ate, he went to bed. It was a full moon but he was not in the mood for running, he was in the mood but he could not. He wanted to lay low and spend his time at home till his parent's suspicion was cleared but Hank did not want to. It was a beautiful full moon and he could not resist the temptation of running through the beautiful thick and chilly woods. He stood up from his bed and walked to the door, he turned the doorknob silently and went out of his room. Sneaking out of the house was easy for him, he had been sneaking for the past six years and he did it again.
He was on the streets in no time and he was heading to the woods. He was still walking in the woods when he felt a presence. They were two and they were following him, he stopped and the presence stopped too and he turned around to see what was behind him, nothing. He saw nothing and he continued walking. But the presence continued. It did not feel right, he wanted to turn around and head back home but he wondered if the presence following hIm was armed. He continued walking, even if the person was armed, they were no match to him at all. He would go into the woods and if the presence followed him there, then he will transform and attack. He mapped it out all well.
He got to the entrance of the woods and he could still feel the presence, they were still two. He went into the woods and waited for the presence to come in. They did. He hid behind a tree and he transformed. Hank moved slowly, making sure not to make noise with the twig and dry leaves. He was ready for his prey. He moved silently and when he was closer to them, he ran out, ready to attack. But when he saw them, he stopped in his tracks. It was his parents. His mother was shrieking loudly and his father held her close to himself, she buried her face in his chest. His father looked at him with disbelief.
"Fay!!" His father shouted at Hank.
Without being told, the wolf turned around and started running. He could hear the voice of his father, calling behind him and the loud sobs of his mother. He was not ready to face them, not yet. He had to run and he ran. He ran as fast as he could.

**** FAY'S PARENTS POV ****His mother did not believe his story of taking a walk but she did not say anything. She did not make known her suspicion. After the little talk with him about his suspicious night absence, she returned to her room and when she got there, his father was sitting on the bed. His little glasses sat on his face as usual and his focus was on his laptop. He had it on his thighs and he was typing away. She walked to where he sat on the bed and sat there too."I am worried." She said.He kept the laptop on the bed and turned to her."About what?" He asked."Fay." She simply said."What about him?" He asked."He has been leaving the house for quite a night sometime now and I am worried." She explained."Have you asked him where he goes to?" He asked her."I have, he said he goes to take a walk but I do not believe him." She replied. He did say any other thing for a while and when he spoke up, he asked her what she wanted to do. She told him, they were going to follow
His father made his way to the door and he too, surprise-filled his eyes when he saw the boy at the door. Fay just stood there looking at them, he was so nervous that he could hear the fast beating of his heart. His parents finally made way for him to come inside and he did. They instructed him to go and freshen up. He went into his room and took a long warm bath. He finally came out of the bathroom after a long while and when he walked to his wardrobe which stood in a corner of the room, his clothes were packed into his bag and kept inside, probably waiting for him.He wore a shirt and a pair of trousers and he went outside the room and he walked to the kitchen. His parents were nowhere near the living room when he got there and when he got to the kitchen, there were leftovers in the pot and he ate them. He ate silently and his parents came out of their room when he was still eating and they sat at the dining table. He finished eating in the kitchen and washed the dishes, when he fin
When he woke up the next day, his parent's awkward and uncomfortable behaviour did not bother him anymore, what he wanted was to be with him.The black big wolf. He wanted to be with him and ask him questions, to ask if he was real, to ask if any of what was happening was real. He had a thousand and one questions to ask but for now, he had to wait. Wait for the dark clouds to come, wait for the full moon to shine its brightness down the earth, wait for the night to be dead and hope he would come again. He went to his mother's little stall in the market when he was done with his house chores, to pass the time. She did not look good. She looked weak, tired and afraid. Afraid of him and he knew it. Sales were made and by the time they got home, it was evening. The sun was setting and it already had an orange colour, giving the earth habitants a beautiful view to look at. His mother went into the kitchen as soon as they arrived and he went to his room, he did not have anything to do t
The sharp wind pierced through his clothes and caught his skin when he stood at the entrance of the thick woods. He looked into it and sighed deeply, he had concluded that it will be the last time he would go looking for the wolf and after that night, he would still continue to come to the woods but not for the wolf but for his run. He closed his dark eyes and released Hank. The wolf stood at the entrance of the woods, big, black and tall. His dark eyes shone in the dark and he howled. A loud howl of frustration. Then he jumped into the woods, running. He ran fast and hard, silently hoping to see the wolf again. Even if it was the last time. When he strained his ear, he heard it. It was far off and it came in a slow and low wave. The sound of a big wolf's feet meeting the dry leaves and twigs. Hank halted immediately and looked at the direction where the wave was coming from, it was the direction where he came from the other day. Hank could feel his heart beating rapidly, what if it w
Hank ran as fast and hard as he could but the boy was a beast. The blue-eyed wolf ran with expertise and experience, fast. After a long time of chasing Jake, Hank finally stopped, shaken and tired. He had never run that way in his life. The blue-eyed wolf noticed he had stopped and he halted too, he walked back to where Hank stood."So weak." The blue-eyed wolf scoffed.Hank heard him and he growled at the wolf and the wolf growled back. Hank wanted to pounce on the wolf, to scratch and bite and give him wounds but he could not. He was too tired. They transformed back to their human forms after a while. Fay was gasping for air when he transformed, his lungs burned with fatigue and his throat felt patched, he needed water. He sat tiredly on the ground, the dry leaves and twigs made a loud noise when his butt sat on them. He looked up at the boy, Jake. He stood there, tirelessly and looking down at Fay. He still looked energetic even after that hectic run. He took his eyes off the boy a
His room, a spacious large room with an equally large bed, a table and a chair sat at the corner of the room and two doors stood at the other side, one door for the bathroom and the other for the closet, a large window stood at the wall, facing the bed. He got into the room and fell on the bed. He was still wearing the trouser and long-sleeved shirt he was wearing, he was too tired to take them off. His eyes became heavy in no time and he did not fight the sleep that engulfed him. When he woke up later in the day, he sat on his bed, his face in his palms and he remembered the black-eyed wolf, Fay. He made a mental note to ask Mr Jones about Fay later in the day during his lessons. He stood up from the bed and looked at the clock that hung on the wall, at 2:54 PM. It was almost time for his lesson and practice. He walked into the closet to take off his clothes, and he did. He walked out of the closet and into the bathroom to freshen up. When he was done getting ready, he wore black tr
*** JAKE'S P.O.V ***When his wolf arrived in the woods, there was dead silence. He wondered if the black eyes boy had even come. But he promised to come, humans uphold promises and kept them. The boy was not a human but he had lived with them for a long time to be like them. He sniffed the air and he could perceive him, not his wolf, him. His wolf knew the boy was there and he ran as fast as he could to their usual spot. When he got there, he saw him. Sitting on a tree stump with his face in his palms, deep asleep he could not even hear Jake approach. He wondered why the boy was out in the woods sleeping, he was supposed to be running. His wolf transformed and Jake walked up to where he was sitting and reached out to tap his shoulder. When he did, the boy jerked up."Hey," Jake said.____________________________Fay's eyes darted around the woods for a while, his dark eyes still looked sleepy and when he grasped the idea that he was still in the woods, he sighed deeply and then looke
His mouth hung open, he did not know what to say. He could feel his heart squeeze and a tear threatening to fall but he wiped it off with his hand."So no work today?" He asked, his voice shaky."No. It's my day off." His father answered."Do I'll just... I'll just head out." He said and turned around."Shut the door behind you." His father said.He did. He shut the door behind him and left for the kitchen. His mother was standing over the pot that content was boiling on the burner. She had a wooden spoon in her hand and her hair was tied behind her. He walked over to where she was standing, and the smell of pasta rushed into his nostrils."Hey, Mom." He said. She did not say anything. He could see her tense up, in fear. The sweat that suddenly covered her face made Fay wonder if it was because of his presence or if was it because of the heat of the cooking."I was wondering if I could go somewhere. I will only take a day or two. It's really just important." He asked permission."Do w
