Chapter 69

It was a wolf, not a werewolf but a wolf. Hank stopped in his tracks and glared at the wolf, its eyes glittered in the dark. He growled at it and the wolf stepped back a little.

It was not afraid of him because when he growled at it for the second time, it growled back, challengingly. It was a big wolf, black and big but Hank was bigger. He did not want such distractions on his journey but there it was and he had to deal with it.

The wolf did not expect his sudden action. He stood staring at the wolf for a while and then suddenly, he pounced on the wolf and tackled it to the ground. He did not waste time burying his fang in the animal's throat, it howled in pain and Hank buried deeper. He quickly uprooted the animal's throat and when he was sure that it was weak enough, he rose from the ground and continued running, he did not want to waste more time.
