Hello readers. If you are regular reader of books with werewolves/wolf shifters then you already know what heat is. To those who may be reading a book of this genre for the first time, I just want to give a little explanation. I want you to have a basic understanding before you continue reading so you won't be confused in the next chapter. Heat is basically a period of extreme arousal in female wolves. It's kind of like ovulation in human females where they are horny and moody and have other symtoms of PMS. But in female wolves, it's more than just being horny. They get the intesnse urge to mate, and if they don't obey that call, it causes extreme pain. A female in heat also gives off a scent that is pleasant to males, for unmated males, the scent drives them crazy and all they can think about is satisfying the female in heat by mating with her. For mated females, they can not stand the touch of another while in heat and can only be satisfied by their mates. For unmated females, they

ADAIRA ~ I stumbled away from the mirror and rushed to the shower. I got in and turned on the water just as the first wave of need pulsed through my lower abdomen and almost sent me to my knees. ADAIRA~I gasped as my vision returned and I saw where we materialised.“Are you crazy?” I asked, then shook my head.“Of course you’re crazy, you’ve already proven that countless times since I met you, but this is on a whole other level. Why did you bring me to a volcano? Did you finally decide to kill me like I asked?”I was surprised that my strength was slowly returning, enough for me to speak so much, and speak coherently. ADAIRA ~ Beautiful sparkling volcano lakes are definitely magical, but the feeling of Gavrael’s lips on mine was more than magical. It was like all the stars in the galaxy were aligned just right. There was no other way to describe it but with sappy lovey dovey words that would make me cringe later, and I refuse to think more nonsense than I already have. Even though it felt good to kiss him, touch him, and feel his touch, I needed to remember that he was the enemy. Curse the fates for matching us together as mates. He was being gentle now, acting sweet, but he would return back to being the monster after this. He was on his way to conquer another pack and only came back because he was told that I was trying to escape. If I asked him to stop his agenda to rule more packs and stop enslaving the packs, and stop killing those fighting for their homes, I doubt he would heed my words.
