I drove home recklessly, my grip tight on the steering wheel and the moment I arrived, I went straight to my room and slammed the door shut. The sound echoed through the quiet as I drew in a sharp breath that burned my lungs.

I thought I could handle seeing Gabe again without letting my emotions get the better of me. But I was wrong. The second he denied what I said and brushed it off as if my feelings meant nothing, something inside me snapped.
