Lyra’s POV

I felt a sudden surge of power engulf me. I wonder why I was feeling so much energy at this particular point in time. How and when this happened is what I found very hard to fathom.

My hands were shaking rigorously, my entire body ached badly. At some point I felt like just staying numb and not waking up.

Lucius did everything in his capacity to make me better again. He provided with me a personal nurse to come check up on me at intervals. He also checked him once in a while to see if I was awake or needed anything. Responding to treatment and it seemed like it was going to kill me. I really wish for it to end so I don't have to think of anything.

“Look, you're going to be fine and you just have to trust me and trust the process. Everyone here is going to help you one way or the other. Just need to cooperate everything will come back to normal”

I expected him to run out of patience but the reverse was the case. He provided me with help and every single thing I needed to be fine again. If there was anybody that didn't give up on me, it was Lucius.

“I don't need your help or anybody at this time. I can easily figure this out myself”

The surge caused constant irritation, forcing me to kick away every one that offered to help me. This didn't at any point discourage Lucius in any way. He still continued to show his constant care and affection.

“You don't have a choice Lyra. If you really want to be whole and free again you just have to do as I say. And besides, you need this more than any other person”

Deep down I knew he was saying the truth. He honestly wanted the best for him but I wasn't allowing it. I was just too frustrated and irritated to think straight. My honestly have a choice than to follow everything he has said and prescribed. Truth of the matter, I want to be fine again.

“Right now you need all the rest you can get to feel safe and better again. I'll show you everything will come back to normal. You just have to follow my directives”

I finally succumbed to doing just as I was told, taking enough rest and doing just as he has said. I pitied him so much. He's been through thick and thin to see that everything's stabilized with me.

There was something off about Kael. I couldn't really pinpoint it but I could tell from the energy that something was really off. I could foresee that we had to act fast. If we didn't, we were going to be at the receiving end which spelled disaster.

“I feel this is a better time to strike. Just have to do this and take me later”

He laughed sarcastically, casting a weird look at me. I could tell from his expression that this was another turn down of one of my numerous ideas. His expression already betrayed him even though he tried too much to be polite.

“And why are you looking at me like that? Don't you find validation in everything I've just said? You should really listen to me this time around”

He laughed again, this time briefly. He still into space as if thinking about something or what to say, choosing his words carefully.

“I really admire how much you think you are a very good strategist. If you'd ask me now is not the time to strike or do anything rash”

Here we go again. I am seriously sick and tired of the way he makes me feel like I don't know what I'm saying. Does he really think I'm unintelligent or can't prefer solutions to pressing issues? This was honestly the height of it.

“Lucius, you really have to listen to me this time around. If we don't do it now the aftermath would be disastrous”

He looked at me this time with keen interest, seemingly paying attention to what I said.

“Disastrous you say? Okay tell me, in what way is this going to be disastrous because you talking riddles that I don't seem to solve”

“Of course you can't solve it. You just have to listen to me this time”

I am honestly sick and tired of how Lucius was making me feel.

“You see, right now you should focus on getting yourself back together. We can't afford to launch an attack we are not sure of”

I covered my face in my palm, feeling stupid once again.

“You just have to tell me, is there a problem in listening to me or giving me attention at least? Or better still, pay attention to my words? Can you listen to me just once?”

Desperation was written all over my face and the way I sounded. I actually had a foresight of what was going to happen if we didn't act fast.

“Okay this is it, I will only listen to you the moment you get well. Is that fine with you?”

“How does acting accordingly have a connection with me getting well? Can't read the handwriting on the wall?”

“Obviously, nothing is on the wall. Please let's get this over with”

Did Lucius just make a joke about something so serious and life threatening?

“So what I've said is a joke to you? You really won't take my words seriously again?”

“It's not about not taking your word seriously, it's about you getting well and most importantly how sure is what you want us to do…I mean, what you've just said should be given a second and if possible a third thought. C'mon, think about it”

I already made up my mind that I wasn't going to say anything again but I couldn't just help but to spill out this one. I wish I had known better not to say anything.

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 67

Lyra’s POV. "I have been involved in a few fights in my life and I am not proud of everything that I have done but the only thing you can be rest assured of, is the fact that you would never be disappointed when it comes to me." Lucius told me.My eyes lingered on him, watching the once confident man look like he was trying so hard not to break down in my presence and I kind of understood it but at the same time, realized that he was fighting some battles that would never make any sense to me except he came out clean. "Of course you had to. How is that affecting you now?""Badly, a whole lot of people have different perception about me and as much as I would have loved for me to remain anonymous my past is finally catching up with me and I have to be at the center of it all making sure that everybody has a hand in this no matter what." He wasn't making any sense with his analogy and even though I wanted to believe him to some extent, I kind of felt like there was a little something

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 66

Kael's POV.My wolf led me to the plains, that was the only place that I could be able to get answers for what I was looking for and how long he was going to take for me to fathom a reasonable explanation and why she just disappeared. Selene must have been a bastard for thinking that you'll be able to make me convinced to do whatever she wanted and not what I truly wanted. How on Earth does she even think that it was possible? I had nothing to lose but she had everything and the entire world too. The father was not even as popular as he wanted to preserve his legacy and I was doing this simply because my pack members decided to go on a long journey to make sure that I was not doing anything against what was already in the works. I had nothing to lose nor gain, but now that Selene had spoken about it I was willing to abandon a few things to seek that girl out. She couldn't have been really far away or else I would have found her by now. I also didn't have anything to say apart fro

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 65

Lyra's POV.My first move was to comb the entire area making sure that I was able to drag the few things out."Don't you have a whole lot of things that you have to put into place before we start fighting against somebody that we know is going to prevail one way or the other?" It just didn't make sense to me no matter how much they were trying to go about it and paint it to be the real thing. I had already discovered a better way of handling the situation but none of this was sufficient enough for me. I had more ideas running through my mind and until they were done, I had nothing to fight for.One thing that was certain was the fact that I decided to go on with the entire trip. For Camille to think that everything was fine on my end and I was not under any pressure to give them a correct prediction or else lead them to their doom, she was just the same like everybody else. Most of them had concluded that I was overreacting about certain things that I did which was okay by me and

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 63

Kael's POV. I didn't have much to think of but I knew that something had been going on that I have was not very attentive to and I needed to change that immediately before it was so late for me to do that anymore I wasn't obsessing over Selene but she had made very valid points and I needed to check downtown just to see what was lurking behind this scenes As a spy myself I knew that whenever there was a lot of count it was going to birth something more than a whirlwind. I didn't have much to talk about but I was very sure that there was even something else going on that needed to help in releasing the pains. I had nothing more to look for besides the obvious answers that I had gotten over a long time. I didn't also have what it took to be able to switch things up but I was sure that at some point I would be able to see what was going on and deal with it. Firstly there was nothing else that I needed to do that was going to help out. All I needed right now was to make sure that I h

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 64

Lyra's POV. One of the most amazing things that I had ever done in my entire life had to be the fact that I have been able to understand the difference between the different timelines and how to navigate through it without losing my mind.I was only committed to one and that needed all the time in the world just to be able to sort many differences out."So... Are you a little bit worried by what this might bring and how longMy heart was pounding so hard that I almost felt it leaping out of my chest. My hands were tight but I had only one will.I needed to live, even if that was the last thing that I did. There was basically no option for me and I wasn't going to take chances. "If she gets away, we are doomed!" Somebody yelled from behind me. I was a little bit irritated by the way they were acting but I couldn't blame them either. It wasn't entirely there fault the way things were going, they had just been conditioned to think that Selene wielded the entire power. I also thought

  • ALPHA KAEL'S REJECTION    CHAPTER 62

Lyra's POV. I didn't think that there was going to be a change in the fact, "I didn't have the right to change the mandate but there wasn't anything more the other day." "Are you sure that there's something wrong with the issues at hand or is this something else that you need to tell me?" Camille headed towards me with the intention to get more information out of me but that was not going to happen. I had already figured out that there was going to be a little bit of a mix up here and there and I was waiting to see how long it was going to take and what exactly I had to do to sort out the entire problems. I had taken a deep breath yet refused to look straight into what she wanted me to do. I was thinking about how long it was going to take for me to be able to sort out a few things but here I was, dealing with more issues than none. "Is this really a thing or...?"I took a deep breath refusing to answer my question because it was harmful to my person and I would love to have the
