Chapter 7

Eleanor had stopped counting the doors when they got to the kitchen. She had tried to engage Leana in a conversation and still try to count the doors from her room to the kitchen, but that was as good as impossible.

“This is the kitchen,” Leana told her as she pushed the large door to the kitchen open, revealing an almost empty large kitchen. The door looked old like it had been made long ago of wood, but then inside looked like it was centuries ahead.

Eleanor muttered, “Wow.” She looked around with her head up, not being able to help how surprised and amazed she was about the kitchen. “This is the kitchen?” She asked Leana, who nodded excitedly. “It is so pretty.”

“Exactly,” Leana replied. “Pretty is the perfect word to describe this place. “I remember growing up here and always thinking to myself how pretty it was. The brown and cream ceramic tiles always have this place the perfect kind of glow. I always thought people would think it dull, but I guess by your reaction it is just
