Chapter Eight

My heart flew when I heard that.

We quickly hid, masking our scent with a spell, being careful not to be seen by the guard.

"I thought you said that no one else apart from Alpha and your mate knew this area," I whispered.

"Yes, no one except them."

"Who is that, then?"

"It must be that guards have been stationed there by the alpha because of the pure breeds."

The guard walked around the place while shining the torch he was carrying.

He extended his search to the dark areas, being very careful to know the source of the disturbance.

We had to find a well-covered area to hide in order not to be discovered.

We waited till he was satisfied with his search and left before we came out of the hiding spot.

"Don't you dare say anything to anyone; if you do, I will kill you in a slow, painful way."

"You know what I am capable of; Daddy is not here to save you," I warned.

She did not say a word; that would have made me suspicious of her, but it didn't because I was desperate to leave.
