Chapter Thirteen

Amanda called Mirabel on phone. She told her about the call she received from Elvis. Mirabel asked her whether she really wants to go out with Elvis. Amanda informed her that it is just lunch and nothing more.

"Girlfriend, I have known you for many years. You have refused to go out with any man. I could remember vividly, when Oscar begged you to have a lunch with him but you refused. You gave him all the excuses in this world. You have turned down countless number of men that came your way and your reason was that you were not ready for any relationship. Now, you are the one telling me about Elvis and you are even happy about having a lunch with him. Darling, tell me the truth. Are you in love?" Mirabel asked over the phone.

Amanda blushed and did not hesitate to deny. " Mirabel, how can you ask me such? I know Elvis is good looking, tall and humble but I am not in love with him. I don't even know much about him but he told me that I should look for a restaurant he can afford because he is not rich. I also know that he has a motorcycle that is not new but believe me, you will like him when you see him."

" I said it. My girlfriend is in love. She is already admiring the man, yet she is denying of loving him . Talking about being poor, are you sure you can cope with a poor man? Well, all I have to tell you is to be careful. Do not be carried away, you know this is the first man you are going out to have a lunch with. Don't forget to dress gorgeously. I have been thinking, how can a man who wants to have a lunch with you tell you on phone that he is  poor before the date itself? I think something is wrong. I don't think he is poor because a poor man who wants to have something to do with a woman, will talk about his financial status after meeting the woman or during the lunch time." Mirabel concluded.

" I don't think he is rich but there is this superior aura whenever he speaks. A rich man, can not have such motorcycle but I don't care whether he rides an old motorcycle. I will have a lunch with him. Girlfriend, I have to go now. Bye."

Amanda dropped the call before Mirabel could respond to her last statement.

Amanda later called Elvis and informed him about the restaurant she has chosen. Elvis told her that he heard that their food is expensive but Amanda told him that Relaz restaurant is the least expensive.

Elvis told his men about his date and he told them that they should pay the restaurant so that only him and his men who will pretend not to know him will use the restaurant, so that no one  will recognize him. His men did as he instructed.

Elvis arrived at the restaurant with his motorcycle. Amanda arrived almost immediately. Elvis men and few female workers pretended not to know him while dinning in the same restaurant.

" How are you, Amanda? Please, Make your order." Elvis said. Amanda made an order after going through the menu. Elvis also made his order but he  ordered the cheapest food on the menu. Amanda frowned and said " Elvis, are you ordering that because you do not have sufficient money to pay for our food? Don't worry, Order for anything you want I will settle the bills. 

Elvis smiled and thanked her but inwardly he was saying that if Amanda knew his worth she wouldn't have mentioned' insufficient money', but he was so happy that at least he has seen someone who does not know his worth but was willing to have a lunch with him and even pay for it.
