CHAPTER 15: LIFE IS SO UNFAIR

DIONNAH'S POV

A ton of dead weight crashed down on my chest, but I said nothing. I just stared out into the distance, and my eyes settled on the empty space at the entrance of the pathway. I now realized that it was missing something, maybe two big potted plants on either side. I made a little mental note to go pottery shopping when I got the chance. My eyes then went to find many little things that needed fixing in the backyard. Maybe I could hire a landscaper and he could turn this place into a fairy's playground.

"Dee, did you hear me?" Dani shook me from my trance.

"Mhmhm," I jumped.

"I said did you hear me? Derick's engaged."

"Yes. I heard you, Dani. Loud and clear," I snapped. That big-fat-coconut-head bastard. He told me he wouldn't get married until he was successful and in his forties. I guess that was another one of his lies.

"I just thought you should hear it from me and not someone else."

"Right. Good for him though." I half smiled. I guess it was good for him and even

I know mine is an unpopular opinion, but, damn...! What an emotionally draining woman! And he's right, she needs a shrink. She might not be crazy, but she's a f*cking neurotic shrew, that's for sure.
