1, MEET UP

"Of all the figures in this world, I'm just tethered to you. What is the comparison? The whole to one."

***

Fiona knows there are a lot of things she has in this world. Perfect job, wealth, perfect physique, and popularity career. Beautiful women seem to be certainly coveted by many people, especially men; starting from the CEO, celebrities, and even those who work under her also want a position beside her.

The woman sighed when she finished putting on the boots she had taken off the shelf. She turned his head out of the window, finding that it was starting to rain. Her memory wafted, along with the dry maple leaves that had fallen out there.

"Whenever it rains, it always reminds me of that." She muttered.

Indeed, everything is owned by women it seems. However, there is one that until now was not owned by Fiona Aubrey.

It feels to love and be loved.

Fiona felt like she never got that. Even when her hazel beads looked up at the sky of the world and made the memory of her past unfold. The woman sighed, leaving a faint smoke haul in the air. The memories of leaving and being abandoned are the bitterest in her life. It hurts too much and makes her chest throb with a sting every time she remembers it.

The woman looked at the watch on her wrist after a few minutes out of her apartment. She tightened her coat because she didn't want the rain and the memories of piercing herself and her heart deepened. Her steps seemed a little shaky. The world knew if last night she was really tired. Returning from her job as the son of Jack Aubrey, she was surrounded by many reporters covering—busy asking about her personal affairs, and taking care of part of her father's company's finances.

Fiona prefers to return to the apartment and be herself. Even when Jack told her to go home and be the proud daughter of the Aubreys there, Fiona wouldn't want to. She wouldn't be herself there.

The atmosphere with cold air began to freeze around. Autumn makes some people lazy to go outside the house. However, not for Fiona. She was hungry and in the refrigerator, there was no food or junk food left over from yesterday. So, today she decided to go out by herself and buy some food stocks in a convenience store not far from the apartment.

"Damn it!" The woman murmured.

Her steps came to a halt when she saw several people appearing to be huddled on one side of the road she was about to pass. The convenience store is a few meters away from those sucking guys and Fiona has to get there soon now. She thumped softly, feeling a sting in her stomach. Sure enough, if her ulcer recurred because she was late for breakfast or something else.

"Where, where it is, come on!" Fiona bullied her softly. She turned a corner, looking for another way to get to the convenience store.

The exclamations of the reporters sounded coming over. It seemed that they knew the existence of the woman. Fiona growled in annoyance. Why are those bad guys still chore her, like they don't have any other job?

In between her anxiety of not finding a way out, someone suddenly pulled Fiona's arm and immediately took her into the snook. A black coat jacket suddenly covered the faces of her and the puller. The smell of masculine perfume was lived by the woman's smell.

Fiona knew if her savior was a man. It felt from the muscular chest under the thick clothes that were now touched by him. She didn't stop inhaling the smell of perfume mixed with the man's sweat. It made her crazy in the blink of an eye.

For many seconds the woman found the butterfly in her churning, and the rescuer brought her face closer until their high noses almost touched. Fiona stared at the man for a very long time. His blue eyes were like heaven's sky, making Fiona float unceremoniously.

"S-sorry." The man let go of her tightness. Aware that the man's bottom began to stiffen, he moved away from the body of the woman who had been rescued by him minutes ago. The two stared.

"Thank you," Fiona said.

The man nodded because he was watching the reporters who had passed by earlier or he couldn't resist the surge in himself after saving a woman as beautiful as Fiona. Anyone will feel thirsty and hungry in an instant when they see the figure of Fiona Aubrey.

"Fiona." The woman said. She looked at the man as she stretched out one hand.

The man returned Fiona's handshake. "Steve." He said.

"Steve? Such a handsome name, as the owner."

In the name of Santa's socks, Fiona seemed to forget the bitter memories she had just remembered a few minutes ago. The woman carved the curve of the sickle on the corner of the lips of the newly met man. Of course, with her seductive lips and begging for it.

The noisy voice from her stomach unraveled the barrage of romantic moments at the first meeting of the two. Fiona snorted in annoyance. After reporters, now it's her stomach. It really can't be compromised.

Steve chuckled lightly. "Want to go there?" He asked, pointing to a small tavern on the corner of the alley.

Fiona looked in the same direction. She nodded. Her stomach was already hungry and asked to be filled with wheat porridge or a ton of hotdogs now.

As if supporting their first meet, it rained heavily again. Steve and Fiona had no other choice but to run quickly in the direction of the tavern and entered it. They managed to get an empty bench in the corner of the room.

Fiona could look out from the window beside her. The rain that flowed and formed a chopping along the way seemed to carve out memories for all souls. The petrichor wafts, adding to the impression of being upset and sweet that blends into one atmosphere.

He is handsome!

The woman stared at Steve who sipping coffee. Fiona also occasionally devoured the bowl of soup in front of her. She was incessantly throwing eyes at the stern man. The alpha aura that Steve possessed made Fiona go crazy. His face is masculine, his jaw is firm with a sturdy nose, his eyes are blue like crystal in the ocean, and his black hair makes her even more perfect. The other side of Fiona squirmed impatiently now.

"I often see you being chased by those people," Steve said, stopping the bribe of the woman opposite. "I also often see you on television."

Fiona fell silent with the faint nod she showed. She went back to sipping slowly the soup soup. Her hazel eyes again looked at Steve, but hurriedly looked in the other direction after finding the man throwing a look at her as well.

"You never saw me?" asked Steve then.

Fiona's forehead wrinkled. "You?" She thought for a while, then shook her head. There were too many humans around her and her short-term memory illness made her forget the likeness of all the people she had ever met. "Have we met before?" She asked.

Steve grinned faintly. He already understood that the beautiful woman had forgotten him. The other side sighed in annoyance, angry that Fiona had forgotten the events of that night. "You've completely forgotten." He said.

"What do you mean?" interrupted Fiona until she put her body first.

Steve again carved a smile until it formed a seesaw that was so obvious on the corner of the lips. He thrust the body, approached the woman, and whispered; "Mariposa Hotel."
