~3~

Levitating down to earth in a deserted forest, Selene, now in human form had her head arched backwards and her toes pointing to the ground mid air. She was unconscious and was glowing so luminously that night, Mother Queila got scared someone nearby might be curious to look for what was producing such rays of light in a government abandoned reserve that ungodly hour.

Once she gently made contact with the earth's crust, her luminous quality surged straight into her eyes causing her to immediately jerk up amidst her soft coughs.

She slightly opened her eyes but then, her eyes was so blank, trying to adjust to the darkness and her new form, she couldn't see a thing.

After five minutes of steady breathing and system composure, thanks to the moon and her fox-like eyes, she realized she could see so clearly as though it was day time.

Her eyes were glowing but this time, very dull.

She doesn't know who she is, but she had a faint memory of a woman who use to take care of her and her sisters somewhere that doesn't look like where she is at the moment and somewhere that doesn't make her want to explode into a thousand pieces.

All this while, she hadn't raised not even a finger nor her head.

She was lying down on the floor with her face upwards towards the sky.

Trying to get used to her new form.

Gosh, It felt like she never existed.

Still inside her empty head and trying to understand the mystery she was into, her eyes caught sight of an object that was giving a flickering yellow light on her chest.

Looking down, she found a locket around her neck.

She raised her hands towards it to examine it. Feeling her hands around it, she opened it and saw a name on it,

SELENE.

Well, whatever she was doing there, she knew it was not by accident because she felt like she wasn't alone.

She managed to stand up on her two wobbly legs, steadying her walk.

She made her way out of the reserve and straight into the strangely busy and lousy street at that time of the night, slowly, one step before the other.

There was a street costume carnival going on. It was her lucky day because no one in her right senses would wear corset kirtle dress by that time of the night and century, it's obviously not the medieval period in England.

Looking around, she saw so many people dancing, drinking and partying on their different costumes. She was lost in everything as she kept spinning around slowly but steadily. She was thankful to the moon, she didn't get awkward glances as expected from people, they were very busy with the festival.

Then someone tapped her by the shoulder startling her, it was a lady in her early forties.

The lady looked her over and smiled towards her like she knew her from somewhere. Then she came close to her and whispered to her ear.

"Follow me."

Well, she didn't wait for Selene to do so, she got hold of Selene's hand and dragged her gently out of the crowd.

"My dear. I know you are so confused and dazed concerning who you are and what you are doing here tonight.

But I would explain everything to you immediately we reach my home. But firstly I would like you to know my name, Celia, do you know yours?"

She asked glancing over her shoulders to Selene who was following behind her.

Selene remembered the locket on her neck and the data it bore. It can only be her name, so she touched the locket slightly as she said,

"I think it's Selene."

She said nodding towards Celia.

"Well, you must have had your locket tag opened already. I have the same as yours, only difference is, it has Celia on it."

Reaching Celia's house. It was a little nice bungalow. She lived alone.

Selene came in and sat down at the table while Celia made a hot kettle of coffee. Pouring the coffee on the two mugs that she brought out earlier on the table.

She kept the kettle at the counter and sat down across Selene who had been staring the living hell out of her all the while.

Lifting her coffee cup towards her face, she was abruptly stopped by Selene who threw her a question she had been expecting all along.

"Who, who are you?"

Selene asked dimming her eyes on Celia.

Celia gave a warm chuckle as she set down the mug and exhaled deeply.

Looking at Selene, she began.

"And I thought you would never ask.

I am what you are Selene.

A moon petal sent down to earth to ward off the Dulmore's royal sons and their minions from reaching the forged excalibar at the lines gate of earth.

But after my one successful mission, I began to love the life down here, I never wanted to go back to the moon again because I made friends and had a good life. I begged The Mother Keeper to allow me stay here on earth. And she approved of it, but on a condition."

Celia said as she took up her mug and sipped on her coffee.

Selene was just sitting there listening carefully trying to understand the whole situation.

Then Celia continued.

"It was never to fall in love with any human, and never to bear a child for none. After much thought, I took the challenge and I have lived here for two hundred years and counting, helping mother Keeper to train the fresh petals on their missions. I have lost all my friends to death and I was never ready to make new ones. You would be my last student Selene, hopefully. I am tired. I can feel my bones weaken day by day. I would like to go back after you to Ishka and wither away, honorably."

Selene for the first time since Celia began the story gave a sigh and blinked. Man, that was so much information to take in at once. She felt her throat go dry.

"Drink up your coffee, Selene. You won't like em if it gets cold."

Selene nodded and brought the coffee to her mouth as she gulped it all at once dropping the mug on the table.

Celia keenly looking at her, knew she needed water. So, she left the table and got her a glass of water which she took all at once again, this time feeling a little better.

"So, how do I go about this uhmm.....this mission of mine?

Because I really want to get it done and go back to Ishka. I don't like it here."

Selene said, she looked at Celia's chest and found her on the same locket she have on her chest.

"With your locket Selene. Mother Keeper would communicate to you through your locket. Before sunset, open it and call her name, she will appear to you and tell you how you will get your job done. But first of all you need to get rid of that dress on you, come tomorrow you would put yourself in trouble if anyone sees you on that. You look like an England Princess from the 30's."

Celia provided Selene with a pant and T shirt.

She thought her how to take her bath and do other personal stuffs.

Celia was not stressed because unlike every other student that had come and gone, Selene is a fast learner.

Celia has a certain connection with Selene and she took her like her own daughter and Selene was doing a good job adjusting to her newly found environment.
