Selene took out the locket that has been on her neck the whole time.

Looking beside her, Celia looked at her askance face and nodded towards her, giving her a go ahead sign.

Selene anxiously gulped at the possibility of what she was about to do and believe in.

White magic powers, are they real?

She had to trust the process because Celia had told her it works and she has been with Celia long enough to trust her, she thought.

So, she did as she was instructed keeping a crossed finger.

"Mother Keeper, Queila." Selene called out looking expectantly at the open locket resting on her palms.

Three awkward minutes passed, whew. Nothing happened.

*I guess I was right all along.*

She thought to herself as she gave a subtle smirk.

"Where is your faith, Selene?"

Came a sharp voice like a soft cackle from the locket she was holding.

Selene noticed her head swell up in fright as to what she was beholding. Her hands shook, threatening to drop the locket that got warm in seconds.

A diverging ray of yellow light surged out through the locket forming a hologram image of a silver with a ginger touch haired lady who you could mistake for a star because of how bright she was glistering. She is what one would describe as impossible.

Looking closely, the face was getting familiar as the rays died down its light.

It's The Mother Keeper, Queila, live and breathing.

Selene couldn't help but leave her mouth gape in cold astonishment.

"Oh, shut your mouth Selene. I taught you better. Welcome to your first mission on the earth's realm. Oh, you look as beautifully as I've imagined you."

Queila commented making an admiring face at Selene who was blinking repeatedly in awe.

Celia was at the corner watching. You can't see Mother Queila unless you call on her with your own personal locket.

But from Selene's expressions, the conversation was going smoothly, she could tell.

After a few moments, Selene closed the locket and gave a satisfying wheeze using her hand to fan her face dramatically.

"Okay, calm down Selene. What did she say?"

"Oh my Gosh! I just spoke with Mother Queila face to face? This is strangely exciting. Okay okay. Calm down now Selene, wheeew."

She exclaimed trying to calm her nerves while she took a deep breath in and out as she looked at Celia who had her eyes on her all the while trying to understand the situation.

"She said I would be traveling to West Side, first thing tuesday morning and that I would be giving an architectural contract at a place called, Lucian Estates and Resorts, I hope I got that right. She also asked me to pick up my papers at Josh's place that you would take me there."

"Oh, Josh is an old friend. I feel guilty now 'cause it's been long I visited him."

Celia muttered more to herself.

"The only problem is, I am not an architect! How could we pull something as huge as this? "

Selene asked trying to think about what lies before her.

"Don't worry, when you get to that bridge, you would cross it, allow everything to take its course. Just do what Mother Queila instructs you to do and everything will be alright."

"I am not even good with acting if it's an option, how technically possible is this assignment?"

Selene asked already pacing the room, biting down on her poor pinkie.

Celia looking wearily at her, stood up and sighed as she said,

"You were once but a flower petal, somewhere in the moon called Ishka.

Now, you are here on earth's realm, a full fledged woman. Human. Have you ever wondered how technically possible it is?

Selene couldn't provide an answer to what seemed like a rhetorical question.

"Let's go fishing Selene and get out of your head."

Celia concluded, leaving the room to fetch her hooks and bait, giving Selene enough time to think of what she just made her realize.

One of the things Celia had done with hundreds of years of her existence on earth was to learn how to fish hunt.

She is also good in garment making, sailing ships and farming.

She hardly ever went to the market to get some stuffs she probably could make herself. Her coffee was made from some herbal leaves and tree barks she got from her farms and adventure, it also helped in keeping her fresh and young apart from being a white angel.

Selene had tapped alot of knowledge from her within the short period she had spent with her.

Her bungalow is the only house standing ten inches round it's perimeter, she wanted to keep her distance from people boning down to the fact that she was no human. She had a rough past with them as much as she couldn't deny the good old times and she is trying her possible best to avoid the ugly side of the past from repeating itself.

Selene was a lovely girl, she was also a good friend to Celia. It's been long Celia had a companion, one who is not even human but of her kind. They had a mother and daughter kind of connection. Selene loves reading stories and any book she could get her hands on, it helped in widening her horizon and made her to understand alot of things that would need experiences to comprehend basically.

Celia on the other hand loves listening to stories even though she had had alot of experiences, nothing is new to her, but she enjoyed listening to Selene's euphonious voice because it had a bag of characters in it. On this note, Celia went to the library and packed lots of bed times story books and had Selene read to her every night, she would slowly and peacefully doze off while she's at it. Unknowingly, Selene was her bed time medicine.

Tuesday is in three days and Celia couldn't help but start missing Selene already.

She took her to Josh, she sorted things out with Josh and got the papers from him with Selene's face and identity all on it.

~Selene Rogers.

~Twenty five years.

~Professional Architect with four years experience. Worked for Sudan republic.....

The only problem which was not a problem literally was, Selene never went to school!

But Mother Queila had everything all planned out.

Tuesday came and Selene never wanted to leave Celia. But she had to, if she ever wished to return to Ishka.

So, that day, she hugged Celia as she promised to come back and visit her whenever she got the chance. She took a cab and her little luggage and left for West Side.

The silence that enveloped the library could be perceived as a very unfiltered quiescence, equanimity in short. The door was ajar, the chirping and tweeting of the birds were like music to the ears as it formed the background of the usual serenity.Behind the desk was Lucian whose square shoulders reclined on his chair while his dead eyes travelled far away from the library through the spacious window, he was hardly blinking, before him a chessboard sat, while he twirled a piece in his hand, allowing him a smooth passage to his deliberations but each time he took a walk to his head, he'd always bump into the vivid memories of the one little human that had managed to turn his frigid heart to a helpless oscillatory pendulum. On the other end behind him, Ash and Theo had been worried sick about Lucian who had locked himself up in his room, refusing to go to work or pick his calls. He hadn't even talked about eating since that very day at the office, they don't know if he is doing fine or

When the door banged shut, there came a sudden change in the temperature of the room as Lucian and Selene's eyes locked up in what seemed like a subtle battle contest. Lucian stood up from his seat not breaking the fierce eye-contact, roughed his raven-black hair and circled round his space to lean on the edge of his matte desk facing the door with his shoulders hanged, comfortably. All one could here for the seemingly instant weird moment was the ticking sounds of the wall clock. Lucian was a powerful man who could have anything and anyone he likes and wouldn't stand to be questioned, but before Selene he felt quite remorseful. Crossing his legs and arms, he looked up softly at Selene whose nose had turned so red like a snowman with a carrot stuck up his face for a nose. "You should have knocked, woman." Came a very recollected and unequivocally calm voice. Selene wasn't in the mood to entertain his mischievous and tyrannical attitude and he could read the signs from her darkened

Morning came and Selene was so tired out to move. she had a very strange dream and the worst part of it was, she couldn't remember a thing, but something was very significant and deeply inscribed in her memory; Fiori appeared to her and was trying to communicate an information which unfortunately, she couldn't make a meaning out of. Apart from the apparition, every other thing was vague and cloudy. Looking beside her, Stephanie was gone for the day's work but she left her a note glued to her dressing mirror. Selene managed to drag herself out of the bed and when she reached for the note, she groaned a cuss. *You had a bad dream, I watched you struggle last night. I wish I could stay but I have a tight schedule. I made you breakfast and check your phone, a message came in earlier.* Selene got her phone and it was Lucian's name as the message sender. Seeing the formality and flatness of the message, she got reminded again of how Lucian was nothing but just her boss and she tried her

Selene struggled with unlocking her apartment in her distress and when she finally had it unlocked, she threw her bag on the bed and stomped into the bathroom to take her shower. She sat on the tub for twenty straight minutes as her emotions got the vulnerable part of her, making her cry and whimper in disappointment and resentment, she held onto her knees and buried her face between them. Finally, when she got over herself, she stepped out of the tub on her robe, her eyes shot of blood as she damped her hair, standing before her nightstand, she stared at the locket sitting complacently on it and detested how her life revolves around it for a minute before she picked it up and reluctantly called on Mother Queila. There was no answer and she felt very guilty remembering the last call she had with Celia. She swallowed hard and exhaled tentatively preparing her mind to face Mother Queila when a loud knock interrupted. Getting the door, Stephanie stomped into her room and stood before

Selene laughed out loudly in surprise as she stared at Lucian whose indolent eyes were now fixed on hers. "You have a degree in turning tables, don't you?" "Just like you, with asking alot." He retorted as he brought out his sunshades and started cleaning the lenses with his white silky handkerchief. Selene frantically licked her lips, folded them in and glued her eyes on the windscreen, praying fervently for Lucian to not get invested because there was absolutely nothing about her that he needed to know. "I'm hanging, Selene?" Her prayers weren't answered. Lucian's paying rapt attention to her now. He confirmed it as he continued, "I mean, you have seen my brothers, Ash and Theo, my aunt, Arabella, my family house, my drivers, Olaf and Reggie, my company and you are about to see my annex. But the only information I have about you is just your name?" That clever deduction from Lucian kept Selene on her toes, her bladder suddenly became full and she felt a surprising urge to use

Lucian helplessly looked on silently as Arabella wobbled her way up untill she was out of sight, it felt strikingly preposterous that he began to wonder if this would eventually happen to Selene in the next decades to come. Being a human is quite inhumane, it seems. After a couple of minutes of introspection, he stood up and helped himself up the stairs. Getting to the corridor that led to his room which stood at the extreme of the second floor, he felt a lump up above his Adam's apple when his eyes caught Selene's contour from underneath her door which the light behind her reflected, she was throwing on a nightie provided by Arabella and her cups were as firm as her obdurate persona. He stopped in his tracks as he licked his perfect full lips, wet. Unknown desire stirring up his blood. Just then, Selene's door creaked open and she almost screamed when she saw Lucian standing across her door, she was so bewildered that she dramatically crossed her arms over her chest, beseeching he
