Becky's POV
“Attorney Collins, what's the meaning of this?” I asked as I stood to my feet.I watched the imbecile walk over to where we stood, a look that one would think innocent. He was dressed better today, at least. He looked like he would need more than guards to know his limit.“Mr gardener, are you deaf? Didn't you hear what I said back at the hospital? I do not want to see you anywhere close to me. What the hell is your fucking problem?!?”He didn't say anything but moved his eyes from me to the lawyer as if I had just spoken nonsense. Is this man being serious?“I'm sorry Becky, but until he is here, I am not allowed to read the will”“What kind of stupid rule is that?” I yelled. Before I could ask the idiot to leave, Ephraim had already begun to push him out with strength and anger.“Miss Becky, you should know that this man isn't supposed to be here too,” the lawyer said the minute he saw Ephraim dragging the gardener out.“He is my future husband!”“Who was not recognized by your father? If there is anyone who was recognized as your future husband, it was that man your boyfriend just pushed out” I wanted to speak, but he cut me off immediately,“If the young man isn't going to stay, then I don't think your so-called boyfriend should too. Until you agree to my terms, I won't be reading any will” he picked up his bag.“What is this nonsense?” Grandma asked, pissed, “I have been quiet all because I wanted to listen to what he had to say and go back to my room, only for my time to be spent like this? Attorney Collins, if you want Ephraim out, I'll help you with that. Just read the will”“Grandma, you—”“Shut up!” Grandma yelled at me before I could even speak, causing me to jerk slightly.“Guards! Lock that door, now!” She ordered, and the guards got into action so quickly that I wasn't given time to speak.“Grandma, that's my future husband!”“When we are done with the will, you can meet your future husband, now, we are in the present so deal with it” she snapped. I know it was because she just lost her only son that was why she was that way, but it was rude to lock my boyfriend outside.I stood up ready to go open up for Ephraim when I heard the banging on the door when Grandma spoke up again,“If you dare open that door, I'll ask the lawyer to take the will statement away till you are back in your right mind” She turned to the guards and yelled,“I didn't say take him outside the house, I meant outside the compound. He is inconveniencing my meeting!”The guards walked out, and I could hear shouts and growls from outside. Ephraim must be so angry right now. I turned from the door to the lawyer,“Let's make this really snappy," I said, as I wanted to go meet Ephraim as soon as possible. The lawyer cleared his throat before finally pulling out the will testament.“Good day, family of Mr. Smith Jones, this is the will statement of Mr. Smith before he died. His last will was written on the 22nd of October 2022.A frown formed on my face. That was the day before his death. Why did he have to add to his will? Did he decide to give that gardener the field to cater for the rest of his life?“All landed properties home and abroad now belong to the JX orphanage home. My companies should be sold, and the money would be remitted to JX orphanage homes also. The mansion belongs to my mother, Grandma Smith, and Tyler, who she has taken as her own grandson. Becky should be sent out of the mansion if she refuses to marry Tyler because she does not belong there. Her bank accounts should remain frozen—”“What the fuck is this?!?” I yelled as I stood to my feet. I didn't think I could hear any more of his nonsense. My father would never write that kind of will.“And who the fuck is Tyler?!?” I asked, already pissed.“Your gardener” The lawyer replied, and it was as if my body were burning in anger. The gardener caused father's will to change into punishment?!?“That will is fake!” I roared in anger. The lawyer moved closer and showed us father's signature and stamp.“What the fuck!” I snapped as my eyes shot daggers at my father's lawyer. No wonder he was so adamant in making sure the fucking gardener comes before we began.“But….” The lawyer added, making me squint my eyes at him,“But? But what?”“But if Becky gets married to Tyler with Grandma's blessing, all the companies should be handed over to her as the only child of Mr. Smith Jones along with her husband, Tyler. The landed properties and estates should be under the names of the couple, Becky and Tyler. Everything would and could only go to Becky if she agrees to marry Mr. Tyler and stay married to him”All because of Tyler? Everything would be taken away from me, all because I didn't want to get married to Tyler.“What is the motherfucking Tyler?!?” I yelled. My chest heaving up and down, my eyes teary, and I looked from the door to the guards. I didn't need to tell them what to do, they rushed out only to come back without him.“Where the fuck is he?”“He left”“This is to begin immediately, so till you make a decision, you will have to step out of the mansion.” The fucking lawyer had to open his mouth. My hand reached for the throw pillow behind him and threw it at him,“Idiot!”“Guards, please escort Miss Becky out of the mansion. Ask her personal maid to get her things out also and make sure she knows her job here is done or else Grandma Smith still needs her around” I heard the lawyer order and my eyes widened. The stupid guards really walked over to where I stood,“Ma'am,”“If you touch me!” I snapped. I looked at my grandma for help, but she looked helpless. No, no, this cannot be happening to me.Tyler's POV“Tyler Brooke, do you take Miss Becky Smith as your lawfully wedded wife?” “Yes, I do” I replied so firmly with a smile on my face.“And do you, Miss Becky Smith, do you take Tyler Brooke, as your lawfully wedded husband?” One minute, two, and some more minutes passed as she looked around. I had no fear because I knew she was going to accept no matter what. Her father had placed her in a tight corner, she just could not refuse.According to my personal assistant Simon, he had given me the information of why the Smith family lawyer needed me there before he read the will. Mr. Smith had placed almost everything in the hands of both Becky and I. It was really funny how he knew his daughter very well. She will only agree to this marriage if all that rightfully belongs to her is taken away from her. “I do,” she finally responded. Even though I was sure she would agree to it, I still released breaths I didn't know I was holding. “With the power vested in me, I now pronounce y
Tyler's POVAs much as I had gotten what I had really wanted and Becky had already been made my wife, I had a very big dilemma; getting her to love me. I could visibly see the coldness in her eyes and the look of disdain she addressed me with anytime I tried to make a romantic move towards her. I was on top of the moon and I suddenly felt being dragged to the dark depths of hell. The coldness and the hatred was so much that we slept in different rooms on our wedding night. I wanted to win her heart so badly, but I didn't know how to go about it. I devised some romantic plans to help her swing to my side. I decided to carry out my plan the next day.As early as six, I stepped out of bed and headed to the kitchen downstairs. I could hear the clattering of plates and utensils as Alicia, the chef, was busy."Alicia, you're relieved of your duty today." It was if she was jolted back to life from a long trance by a megavolt of electricity. She spun around and almost lost balance in the proce
Tyler's POVI sat in the master bedroom and speaking to someone. "Nah, I wouldn't let her words get to me, she's probably just frustrated and tired from yesterday" I looked around and realized I had been speaking to myself all along.I heard the master door of the mansion unbolt and I rushed outside to see who it was. It turned out it was my baby."Babe, where are you headed to" I asked, curious. She didn't even as much as flinch as if it was a ghost whisper across the room. I thought she didn't hear me and I repeated the question. With a cold look, she turned to me and replied."I'm going out sir" with a tone laced in sarcasm."If I may ask, where are you heading to?" With a voice more subjective than authoritative. She turned and still didn't say a word. I rushed to the dining table and motioned to her. "I made your favorite; apple pie and double brewed tea, the table is set, just waiting for you."She looked at the table and her cold stare suddenly broke into a thin smile that grew
Becky's POV I was amazed at Tyler’s frustration level and I didn’t know what to do with his matter. While I get ready for work, I heard a light tap on the door to the room. I knew who it was. I opened it; and the filthy gardener came in.“Hello there, how was your night?” I looked at him.“It is none of your concern, bro.” His face became crossed and I knew he might burst any moment. I was expecting any reaction and I was ready to give him back in his own coin. “I really do not know what is wrong; all I have done is try to make you happy and to make you feel loved but all I’ve ever experienced with you was sadness and wave after wave of insults and emotional degradation.“Well, that is what you deserve for intruding into my life.” He looked away and responded “I’ve heard the word intruding into my life over a million times in the past two weeks. I’ve heard it so much that I thought my second name is almost Intrusion”I was about to burst into another long lecture of harsh tongue – la
Becky's POVWhen Ephraim stormed out of my office, I was left in a pool of decisions. I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing, not that I cared less for Tyler, but I was just bothered about the family name. Grandma Smith would have me slaughtered with a pencil if she caught wind of what I wanted to do; it’s not like the other family members cared about her. I decided that I would close for work and go make my decision at home. The mergers meeting had ended and Mr. Clarke was in my office, ready to make some finishing touches and to renew the contract he had before my father’s death. The phone screen came alive, someone was trying to initiate video call and when I saw that it was Tyler, I almost threw the phone off the office table. The call ended and the phone started ringing again. I was ready to give him the tongue lashing of his life when I realized the new caller was my Grandma, Grandma Smith. Taking a deep breath, I pressed the green button.“Hello, my precious daughter, how
Tyler's POVThe informant had just given me information with proof that she had actually went to visit her ex – boyfriend. I was infuriated, angry and disappointed at the same time. I felt like he had not been doing enough and also angry that my beloved wife left me for her ex-boyfriend. I really wanted to believe that it wasn’t true. Maybe, she went on business at that same estate. It was a big place after all.He waited for all night and she didn’t come home, confirming my suspicion. I couldn’t sleep, pacing in and around the mansion and didn’t even know what to do. I picked up the phone and called her, but she kept on bouncing the calls. The next day was a Saturday and she still wasn’t home. I decided not to call anybody as I didn’t want any more complications. I picked up my phone and called her best friend, Ann.“Hello… How are you?”“Hi there” her voice boomed from the other side of the phone.“I’m calling in regards to Becky. Do you know where she has been? I’ve been trying to
BECKY'S POVThis was the worst day of my life. I cursed the day I married this beast. I almost cursed the day I was born. I didn't expect this to happen, never expected that he could be like this to me but I already had my mind made up, I wasn't ready to listen to all his pleas; I knew what I was going to do.I sat in the room and stared into empty space in an attempt to clear my confused mind but it wasn't working. My mind took a flashback to the incident and I could remember the jealousy and the aggression in his eyes; he didn't even listen to my pleas and now I felt pain all over my body both physically and emotionally. I wish I could get a pistol and shoot him.My pool of thoughts was interrupted when I noticed his presence. I must have been lost in thoughts when he came in and I realized I didn't even lock the door of the room I was in. He came closer and went on his knees; I wasn't ready for all that."Becky, I..."“Don’t. Don’t even do it. Tyler, you just shown me your true colo
Grandma Smith's POVI had felt the need to go spend some time with my busy grand daughter. Even since the death of my son which happens to be her father, I have longed for her the more but it was if she was straying far from me. Her father wouldn't be happy in heaven if he saw me doing this to the only prized possession he had on Earth. I made up my mind to go visit her; but I knew I needed a tangible reason to be at my grand daughter's matrimonial home. I packed up my things and ordered to driver to drive me to the airport, I wanted it to be a surprise so I placed a call through to the assistant."Hi there, where's your boss?""Mrs. Smith, good morning, she has not reported to work today but she has confirmed that she will be in tomorrow. Is there any other way I can be of help to you ma?""Yes there is, I'll be landing at the Singapore airport tomorrow, help me prepare a ride to the mansion. Please, no staff or welcoming party; just me and the driver."The hearty laugh of the young
