005. The Vow.

Tyler's POV

“Tyler Brooke, do you take Miss Becky Smith as your lawfully wedded wife?”

“Yes, I do” I replied so firmly with a smile on my face.

“And do you, Miss Becky Smith, do you take Tyler Brooke, as your lawfully wedded husband?”

One minute, two, and some more minutes passed as she looked around. I had no fear because I knew she was going to accept no matter what. Her father had placed her in a tight corner, she just could not refuse.

According to my personal assistant Simon, he had given me the information of why the Smith family lawyer needed me there before he read the will. Mr. Smith had placed almost everything in the hands of both Becky and I. It was really funny how he knew his daughter very well. She will only agree to this marriage if all that rightfully belongs to her is taken away from her.

“I do,” she finally responded. Even though I was sure she would agree to it, I still released breaths I didn't know I was holding.

“With the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride”

Joy sprung in my spirit when I was finally able to take her veil off her face. She was so beautiful, even with the Stony face and eyes that were shooting daggers at me. I gave her a soft smile.

With speed, I slammed my lips on hers, making sure she wouldn't be able to reject my kiss even if she planned to. I could hear the cheer from the crowd as I kissed her deeply with my eyes closed. My hands moved from behind her neck down to her waist as I tried to pry her lips open, but she was refusing to open up to me.

“Ouch,” I pulled away when she bit my lower lip. My finger caressed the spot before chuckling,

“This would be fun,” I said to her, but she looked at me with disdain. I don't care, she'll love me soon enough.

“Welcome to the Brooke family, babe,” I said to her, but she rolled her eyes as we both moved from the altar, so we could get some pictures taken.

She stood in front of me as I held her waist, hugging her closer and her hand rested on my chest, looking into my eyes, the photographer took shots.

“What are you welcoming me to? Emptiness? Disaster? You are all you are because my father found favor in your sight. Trust me, this won't last long. I'll get all that belongs to me and if it means killing you to get out of this shit called marriage, I'll do so” she spat in anger and I chuckled.

“Two things would happen now that we are married,” I said to her when she was done. I wasn't a bit scared of her threat.

“One, you'll fall so much in love with me that you'll wonder what the fuck was wrong with you earlier on” and she scoffed.

“The bride's family” we heard the photographer call out

“Two, You'll be so shocked that I am more than just emptiness and Disaster, you won't want to leave me anymore. Even if I ask for a divorce, you won't dare agree to it” I winked at her,

“About killing me… Come on darling, your heart can't take it” I flashed her a smile.

“Family of the groom?”

I watched my best friend and his girlfriend come out, along with my personal assistant. I saw Becky literally facepalm,

“He doesn't even have a family. God, this is a complete disaster”

I chuckled at her words but held her closer by the waist as we looked at the camera. More pictures were taken, and I found pleasure in holding her by the waist, not caring how many times she had pinched my hand.

We went to Grandma Smith,

“My grandson-in-law, may God bless you. Your marriage prospers and brings good news. Soon enough, I'll get to see my great-grandchild running around the house. This marriage will last long in love”

“Amen!”

Becky didn't respond, though. She walked out of the church and went straight for the car. Before I came out, she had driven off with our car.

“Sir, I tried to stop her,” Simon said to me, and I shook my head with a broad smile on my face.

“Let's use the other one” I instructed, “You should know that your boss got married to a stubborn wife”

We drove off back to the smith's mansion, only to find her outside the gate. She sat on the car bonnet still in her wedding gown, she was smoking a cigarette.

“Why are you outside?” I asked her.

“Why don't you tell your stupid guards to open up for me!” She yelled as she threw the cigarette at me, but I stepped back, and it fell to the ground.

I quickly instructed the guards to open the gate, and they did. She stepped into the car and drove inside, ignoring me, I walked inside while Simon drove our car into the compound.

“Becky” I called immediately and she came down. I wanted to instruct her about the cigarettes, I'm definitely not letting her smoke here.

She walked over to me before pointing a finger at my chest,

“That wedding is just for the public to see and for my properties to be given back to me. There is nothing between the both of us. The only person I have a connection with and will forever have a connection with, is Ephraim, my fiancé and husband to be”

My hands formed a fist by my side. That name, I hated to hear it, Ephraim.

“We would get all the properties, and we would leave you penniless, as you were before my father found you. You have no right to any of these, and you don't deserve me. I'll advise you to do the needful and pass all the properties to me now that we are married, then file for a divorce. I might show you mercy and give you this mansion to console yourself”
