CHAPTER SIX: HIS JUDGMENT.

As soon as she stepped into Bigfoot's office, she cringed her nose in disgust. This man was always found in the company of alcohol and drugs, how did she end up working in such a place?Well she couldn't blame anyone more than her money driven family could she?

Different bottles of wine were scattered in front of Bigfoot and his attention was focused on the lady who just entered his office while a smug look appeared on his face.

" Who do we have here?" He asked Mockingly and she bit her lip.

" I need your help Bigfoot" she answered after a while, she wasn't sure if this man was going to help her after the way she quit the club a month ago.

Bigfoot stood up from his chair as she walked towards her, unlike his name he was tall and well built with a handsome face but it looked flirty.

" Why should I help you Aurora?" He questioned as he lowered himself on the edge of his table, " remember you said you were never going to come here again?"

" I know Bigfoot, I am just in need of some cash right now. Please let me just work for the night and I won't bug you again after today" even as she was talking, her heart was thumping fast because she knew how this man was, he could ask for almost the impossible.

" Okay then Aura, I will help you"

" Really?" She asked in desbelief, " you will really help me?" She asked again to be sure.

" Yes but on one condition" 

She raised an eyebrow and wanted to say something when her phone began to ring.

" One sec" she mouthed before answering the call.

" Unique eyes" came Liam's excited voice and she smiled.

" How are you doing champ?" She asked lovingly, how could a little kid care like this?

" Where are you, unique eyes, I hear music, are you at a club?" He asked and she bit her lips again. How was he so smart?

Before she could talk, Bigfoot snatched the phone from her but what he didn't know was that he wasn't going to talk to the little boy but his father.

" She is at work and no phone calls allowed" Bigfoot hissed into the phone while the man from the other end scrunched his eyebrows in disbelief before sighing.

" Tell her to call the hospital authorities and let them know she doesn't have time to take care of her patient again" saying that, Malcolm disconnected the call as he balled his hand into a fist, she was not also clumsy but she had a loose character.

" That was an important call" Aurora almost yelled in frustration, why was Bigfoot always behaving like this?

Bigfoot smirked as he returned the phone to her, " your boyfriend said you should call the hospital and tell them you are not able to take care of your patient again" he added returning to his seat as Aurora's face widened in horror.

" He is not my boyfriend" she managed to answer but her heart was already beating thirty miles per hour.

" I think you should go to the hospital now or you might lose your job and I will have to take you back here, the money will be in your account soon but not to forget my condition".

Without saying anything, she nodded and quickly dashed out of the office. At least her coming here was not In vain but how would she explain herself in the hospital? she was sure Malcolm scared Danny away.

Running towards the main road, she flagged down a taxi and in a minute, it was on it's way to mainland hospital.

As soon as Aurora rushed into the hospital,she met Danny who was already done with her shift and was going home.

"What happened Danny?" She asked almost out of breath.

Danny sighed, " that man is really scary, I couldn't even stay there. I am really sorry and he said I should tell you that if it ever happens again, he won't spare you, I am sorry Aurora"

" It's okay, see you tomorrow" she added before running towards the elevator, Liam's room was on the third floor.

As soon as she got to the door that was when Malcolm was coming out of his son's room and she froze in her tracks. Even if this man never said anything to her, she was always scared of him and what more?he just stood looking at her without saying anything.

" I can explain sir" she didn't know when the words left her mouth but standing in front of him like this was one of the scariest things she had ever experienced.

" I don't care about what you do outside your work but I will not have you involve my son in your messed up life,do you hear me?" He asked calmly but she could feel the threat in his calm demonour.

" I am sorry sir, please do not report this to the authorities, I could lose my job please"

 " You should have thought about that before leaving your job and going off to have fun at a club" he hissed, " I will not tolerate that kind of behavior especially when my son is involved" he added.

She bit her lips again trying to suppress the tears that has already welled up In her eyes, this man didn't even give her any time to explain herself and he was already questioning her character.

" It is not what you think sir"

" It is what I know" he replied rudely, " look I really don't like you being around my son so you better get your acts together or I will personally have your license revoked and you can focus on being a slut"

She didn't say anything as she cleaned the tear that trickled down her left eye, " I will check on Liam" saying that she walked past him into the room but his words kept ringing in her ears, he called her a slut? even in the next years to come she would never forget it because he was the first person insulting her with so much disrespect.

" Unique eyes" Liam squealed excitedly as she entered, she thought he was sleeping but the latter was just lying in bed.

" I thought you already went to bed" she replied, faking a smile at him, the pain was evident in her eyes and Liam noticed it.

" Did my papa shout at you again?" He inquired, concern written all over his face but she nodded in the negative.

" No dear, sorry I left without telling you. Something urgent came up so I had to leave quickly".

By now he was already lying in her embrace and she was stroking his hair lovingly.

Then he stood up before peering deep into her eyes, " did you go to look for money for your mum?I already asked papa to help you"

For a moment she was stunned, Aurora thought by now he would have forgotten about the call she had in his presence earlier and what was this his papa helping he was talking about?

" You shouldn't worry about that Liam, I will settle everything okay? you just need to focus on getting better" she answered faking another smile, ' just don't worry about me"

But the little boy would hear nothing of it, he was going to help her and that was final. But this decision, he kept to himself.

" Let me read you a story, it is already late and you should go to bed already.

" Okay unique eyes" he replied excitedly as he laid his head on her lap before closing his eyes.

Macolm didn't know for how long he stayed outside but when he entered she was tucking him under the blanket but that sad look was still in his eyes.

" You can go home and take some rest, I will stay with him tonight" she said to him calmly but he didn't reply and just kept looking.

" Tomorrow is my day off so I will spend the night here and I won't be clumsy with him. '' she added again before she saw him finally move towards the bed and he stretched out his hand towards her, he was holding onto something.

She looked at him for a while before collecting it but as soon as she saw what it was , her face changed. It was a check for five hundred dollars.

" Liam asked me to give it to you" 

" I don't want it sir, thanks for the help anyways" she replied before handing the check back to him, " the hospital will pay me for the services I render to your son so there is really no need for you to give me any money".

" I am not the one giving it to you" he growled but she didn't bulge.

"Like I said sir, you don't have to worry and I will let Liam know I appreciate his  kind gesture towards me and moreover if I accept this money from you, I will be proving your insult right so not to worry" she added before picking up the bedside flask.

"Very well then, take care of my son" Malcolm said before picking up his jacket, if not for his son he wouldn't even be bothered about someone with a questionable character like her.

" Rest assured sir" she replied before walking out to get water, she may not be financially stable but at least she had her self respect.
