CHAPTER 43

THREE YEARS AGO

Was she dead? That was the question the young girl asked herself as she floats on the surface of the water. She remembered being shot and then falling off the cliff, her body slamming into the water so hard that her head split into many pieces.

She could sense that death was approaching her before she blacked out, but she only opened her eyes to notice that reality might not be what she expected.

The young girl swam out of the river, relieved to see that she was still alive, and examined her tattered clothes, which appeared to be in poor condition. It was the first time she saw herself as a beggar.

When she thoroughly examined her body, she discovered that all of her gunshot wounds had vanished, as if she had never been shot in the first place. The only evidence that she had been shot were the bullet holes in her clothes, which demonstrated that she was not dreaming and that she was
