CHAPTER 5

Chandler escorted his wife out of the building and back into his car. They were holding hands and smiling at each other cheerfully.

Chandler drew a metallic black card from his wallet and handed it to her. With raised eyebrows, Vanity looked up at her husband. What was he up to at this point?

“Can you tell me what it's for this time?”

“Go buy whatever you want with it,” he said like a tyrant, making her laugh.

"And what if I want to buy a car?"

“You may purchase as many as you wish. Your husband has money, so don't worry about it and spend as much as you want.”

Hearing those words come out of his mouth, she was tempted to bankrupt her husband. The temptation was simply too great.

“I'll definitely buy anything I like then,” she said with a smile.

“Let's drop her off at the mall,” Chandler said to the driver.

“Be free to do whatever you want because the guards will be with you.”

“I will certainly do that, so work with ease,” she said, kissing him on the lips.

Chandler had his wife dropped off at a shopping mall with a security detail before he left for work. He would not feel safe if he left her alone. He had no idea what she had been through in the past, but she was now his, and he would protect her at all costs.

He knew that having her by his side meant revealing to his enemies that he now has a flaw. He had ruled with an iron fist all these years, and his son was well protected by his parents, so there was no need to be concerned.

But now that he has a woman he can touch and love, he wasn't going to let anyone take advantage of the opportunity to depose him from the throne he had worked so hard to obtain.

Everyone could tell the boss was in a good mood when he arrived at work. This was even worse than the previous days' events. The boss was giddy, as if in love. Was that even possible for a man who had previously failed to be enticed? There were rumors that many ladies were kicked out despite the fact that they were naked.

Many speculated that the boss was either gay or impotent because he had not been with a woman for all of these years.

Chandler entered his office and took a seat. Someone came to pay him a visit as he was busy reviewing the files on his desk. Chandler raised his head and hissed angrily at the visitor.

“Is that how you greet me after not seeing you in a while, brother?” As he approached his brother, Ralph, Chandler's youngest brother, inquired with a smirk.

“I assumed that a busy person, such as our dear superstar, would not have time to spend with his family. So, what exactly are you doing here?” Chandler inquired, his gaze fixed on his younger brother.

“Come on, bro! Do you realize how much I miss you?”

“If you do, then come home frequently rather than just going all over the place in the name of working. Have you not played enough?”

“I'll work a little longer and then retire. What do you think?”

“If you don't want to retire, marry and give our mother a lot of grandchildren,” Chandler joked.

Who didn't know how much their mother adored children? He was fortunate because he had already given them a grandchild, and because of his uniqueness, he was not bombarded with the issue of marrying, which made him breathe, but his younger brothers were not so fortunate.

“Umphh, I'll marry when I find the right person for me. I've been thinking about Vanity, and I believe she would make an ideal bride. Don't you agree, brother?” Ralph would have stopped spouting nonsense if he had known he had touched a sensitive subject.

It wasn't his fault, though, because Vanity was unlike any other woman he'd met, and he finds her fascinating.

Ralph realized something was wrong when he noticed the room temperature dropping and when he looked at his brother, he felt compelled to flee. For many years, he had not seen this frightening side of his brother. What exactly did he do wrong to deserve to see it again?

“Brother, I......”

“She is mine, so stay away from her!” The words came out possessive and through gritted teeth.

Ralph heard every single word and realized he'd made a huge mistake. It was unusual to see his brother in this condition. When he saw him trying so hard to calm that beast inside him, he knew he needed to do something to appease him.

“I was joking, brother. She's not my type, and I'll never touch your people,” Ralph quickly denied before his brother went berserk.

The next thing he saw was a familiar red booklet. He grabbed it quickly and stared at it with his eyes wide open.

He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what he was seeing. Is it true that this cold man married? He was deeply hurt when he saw the woman he had been secretly crushing on smiling warmly in the picture, but he was willing to let go for his brother. It wasn't every day that his brother took something seriously.

He could see the changes in him, and those eyes told him nothing but the truth. Chandler was in deep with Vanity, and it appears to be deeper than his own. Ralph was only interested in her because she was different, and she completely ignored him whenever he was around her.

She was never as anxious or excited as the others, which piqued his interest, but his brother had managed to snag her.

“Congratulations, bro.  “Are our parents aware?” Ralph asked after noticing the date on the certificate.

“It's been an hour since we got married and I don't want mother all over her yet so they don't know and let's keep it that way for now,” Chandler replied, not sounding as irritated as when he yelled at his younger brother.
