Later on , I am finally able to stock up the fridge and pantry . I fry scrambled eggs, bacon strips, and some baked beans for the men. After eating, we lounge in the living room, with Brandon and Noah arguing over their favorite superhero, and Gabe siding with Noah. I pretend not to notice Brandon’s eyes lingering on me when he thinks I am not paying attention. I grab my nonfiction book, The Werewolf Series, and start reading.

Brandon reads the cover and teases me. “Nothing you read in there is real, My Queen. If you want to know anything, just ask me,” he says, flashing his pearly whites at me.

I laugh. “I know, but I just love a good fantasy romance. This one has a coven of witches in it too, so lots of magic and extra spice.”

By noon, the live-in has cleaned the apartment from top to bottom and fluffed all the pillows in preparation for the guests we were expecting. I burn some scented candles, and we all chip in to make sure the space is spic and span. Brandon has checked his
