CHAPTER 8

Nessa’s POV

That growl did not come from an ordinary animal.

It echoed through every corner of the massive office, powerful enough to make the expensive glass windows of The Grand Arizmendi Plaza tremble. My heart tightened as a strange energy suddenly filled the air, a force unlike anything I had ever felt in my entire life. It was as if an invisible weight had descended upon the office, making it difficult for all of us to breathe.

“Zarek… don’t, my son. Please, that’s enough, m

CHAPTER 13Nessa’s POVI thought everything would be fine after I bandaged Zarek’s wounds. I believed everything my grandmother had taught me would be enough to save my son’s life. But I was wrong. It was already the middle of the night when I suddenly woke up because of a weak, raspy groan beside me. I immediately jumped out of bed and rushed into the living room where Zarek was resting. The moment I switched on the light, I almost stopped breathing in fear. The white bandages wrapped around his waist and shoulder had turned completely crimson. Fresh, thick, warm blood poured from his wounds, soaking our old mattress. His entire body trembled violently. His skin was ice cold, and all the color had disappeared from his lips. He looked even worse than before. It was as if his body was rejecting the ordinary herbs I had used to treat him.“Zarek! Wake up! Please don’t leave me!” I cried as I pressed another towel against his wound, but the blood kept flowing like water from an open fauc

CHAPTER 12Nessa’s POV“Run! Run as fast as you can!”I didn’t know how I understood Matthew’s growl, but before I could even react, I felt Zarek transform beside me. Despite the deep wounds on his shoulder and ribs, he shifted into his massive wolf form and lifted me onto his broad back. Matthew Arizmendi, the enormous golden wolf, let out another terrifying howl that shook the entire forest as he stood between us and the remaining enemies.Zarek sprinted. He ran so fast that the trees around us became nothing but blurred lines. I clung tightly to his thick fur, lowering my head to keep the branches from cutting my face. I could hear his heavy, ragged breathing with every leap. His warm, thick blood soaked through his golden fur, and I could feel it against my hands. On both sides behind us, several large wolves ran alongside us, guarding our escape. Please, God… save my son, I prayed over and over in my mind as tears streamed down my face. I no longer cared about the cold night or t

  • Abandoned by the Alpha King   Chapter 11

CHAPTER 11Nessa’s POVI had already lost count of how many times my heart had nearly stopped beating during this terrifying night. The thunderous footsteps of the enormous black wolves sounded like knives stabbing into my ears. The wind carried the sickening stench of rotting flesh mixed with fresh blood, making the air even more unbearable. The black wolves had surrounded us. There was nowhere to run. Every shadow between the trees held a pair of massive red eyes fixed on us, hungry to kill.In front of me, Zarek stood his ground in his wolf form. His broad back was the only thing separating me from death. I could see his shoulders rising and falling rapidly with every breath.“Zarek… Oh God, my son… please be careful,” I whispered, my voice trembling as it was almost swallowed by the sounds of the forest. Tears streamed down my face again.I tightened my grip on the torn fabric that remained of his shredded shirt.“Stay behind me, Mama. Don’t look,” he replied in a short, deep voic

CHAPTER 10“Stop right there!”My own voice sounded foreign to my ears, laced with a raw, dangerous fury that I hadn’t felt in years. The emergency red lights of the fire exit flickered violently, casting eerie shadows across the smoke-filled stairwell. My Grand Arizmendi Plaza had been compromised. An explosion from the lower levels had shattered my security grids, but at that moment, the chaos consuming my business empire meant absolutely nothing to me.All I could see was the man standing a few steps below me.He was enormous, burly, muscular, easily six-foot-four, with sharp, aristocratic features and a jawline that looked terrifyingly familiar. He appeared to be around thirty years old, his bare chest glistening with sweat and dust beneath the dim emergency lights. But what stole the breath from my lungs was the woman cradled securely in his powerful arms.It was Nessa. The soft-spoken, trembling waitress who had returned my wallet only hours ago.She clung to the stranger’s neck

CHAPTER 9:I woke up lying on something soft. Slowly, I opened my eyes. As my vision cleared, I realized I wasn’t lying on the cold ground or on the woven mat inside our tiny hut. I was lying on a huge bed covered with white sheets. It was so soft that it felt like I was floating on clouds.“Mama…” a soft, familiar voice called from beside me.Panic immediately washed over me, and I quickly sat up. Beside me sat Zarek. He had returned to the form of a five-year-old boy, but he was still wearing my oversized T-shirt. His eyes were filled with worry, and his tiny hand gripped the edge of the blanket tightly.“Zarek… my baby.” I immediately pulled him into a tight hug, my body still trembling as I gently rubbed his back. “Are you okay? Did they hurt you? Are you in pain?”He shook his head and buried his face against my neck.“No, Mama. I’m okay. The man didn’t hurt me… he gave me food.”I froze. “You can talk even while you’re a wolf. Oh my God!” I exclaimed before hugging him even tigh

It was as if an invisible weight had descended upon the office, making it difficult for all of us to breathe. “Zarek… don’t, my son. Please, that’s enough, my baby…” I whispered weakly, my voice shaking with fear as I quickly dropped to my knees on the luxurious carpet. My trembling hands desperately pulled the little puppy back inside my jacket. I held him tightly against my chest, trying to protect him from whatever danger his actions might bring. My heart pounded wildly inside my chest. Every passing second felt like a countdown to armed guards bursting through the doors to hurt us. I squeezed my eyes shut, fighting back my tears as I held the
