Rogue snapped his eyes open, he looked around his room trying to place yesterday's events together. Was it a dream? He thought to himself, but it couldn't be right? Afterall I remember everything to the latter. Rogue thought, his head began to get dizzy as he continued down the memory lane.
“For your first question, no it wasn't a dream. Everything that had happened yesterday was real” Lucifer's voice interrupted his train of thoughts, she was wearing one of his buggy shirts and she was standing next to the door with a smile.
Rogue's first thought in mind was his mother. “Moth..” He said turning his head only to see Lucifer instead of his mother, it took a few seconds for Rogue to realize who she was and upon doing so he quickly jumped out of the bed hiding behind it. “You... What do you want in my house? and where is my mother? ” Rogue asked still not appearing from his hiding place.
Lucifer chuckled at his childish ethics and made her way to the bed, sitting down she decided to tease him a bit. “ You said I was so pretty and wanted to be with me” She said amidst her giggles watching Rogue's eyes become wide as saucers. However her giggles instantly faded as she came to his second question.
“It's better if you read this yourself” Lucifer articulated handing Rogue the note she found earlier when she went to the kitchen to make them something to eat. Rogue hesitantly took hold of the note and unfolded it, his eyes danced over the content. By the end of the letter, he was a mess, tears were streaming down his face. Lucifer stood up and walked to Rogue wrapping her arms around him to comfort him.
“Ever since Escliffe began his reincarnation cycle, the host's mothers always ended up sick and all died. This is because the potent power of Escliffe himself is a poison to the mother and it eats their bodies away, Since many of the doctors don't know this, they classify it as Cancer... ” Lucifer articulated revealing the secret behind the mysterious cancer Rogue's mother had suddenly contracted.
“.. Unlike what they think, there's actually a cure for this and we are the only ones capable of doing that” She continued her speech, by now Rogues loud caterwaul's were merely stuffled sobs but he was listening attentively to Lucifer.
“T-there I-is one?” Rogue stuttered a bit, his eyes looking at Lucifer hopefully. So far he only had his mother left to trust, as the woman he thought he knew was merely after him for his power, the power forced upon him by an unknown entity.
Lucifer heeding the sobs of Rogue, she smiled and nodded once more. “First we need to get to the hospital she still has 3 days or so to live” Lucifer articulated loosening her grip on Rogue ending their little moment, She stood up to her feet and smiled again. “ Come down, breakfast is already done” she spoke as she exited the room.
Rogue had his pyrrhonism about Lucifer, but he banished the thoughts to the back of his head and stood up from the floor, made his way to the door and he too exited his room. His feet pattering on the oak wood as he descended down to the living room.
His eyes widened at the amount of food that was on the table. “Um, you do know it's the two of us here. So why that many food?” Rogue catechized Lucifer, who sheeply grinned rubbing the back of her head.
“The thing is, I didn't know your favourite food so I decided to make everything I know in hopes one of your favourites is among them” Lucifer replied taking her sit next to the vacant chain which she assumed was the chair Rogue's mother usually sat on.
Rogue shook his head and he too sat down on his chair which was on the opposite side of the table, the duo began to dig into their food. As they were eating Rogue remembered something. “Skyla said something about A curse, what is it about?” Rogue asked clearly confused by everything.
Lucifer took a deep breathe, contemplating whether to tell him or not, but she figured that he'll find out eventually for it was inevitable. “ You see, Escliffe wasn't a devil per say. He was a primordial deity, However he fell in love with me a devil. His father Chronos, the primordial deity of time didn't approve of us and Escliffe ended up fighting his own father for his beliefs... ” Lucifer began her tale.
Rogue paid attention to her, even stopping his chewing to listen closer and gain more information about this. “ However Chronos proved to be stronger than Escliffe and he banished him from heaven giving him a curse. Chronosis curse, the curse allows each of us to be able to tell what the other is feeling, tell if one of us is in danger. But the downside is that if one of us gets hurt our strength get reduced” She uttered once more.
“I'm cursed to not die no matter how much I try, He's cursed to always run out of time.” Lucifer concluded her brief detailing on the chronosis curse they were under. So is there a possible solution to this? Run out of time? Rogue questioned himself, as he continued to eat.
“This is really good by the way” Rogue complimented, Lucifer offered a small thanks behind her breath. Minutes later the duo were already done with eating, and were helping one another do the dishes.
“ What are you going to do now? Go back to the underworld?” Rogue broke the tranquil silence between the two of them, curious on Lucifer's next plan of action.
Lucifer only shook her head. “ Not yet, my people and the races I governed decided to overthrow me and select a new queen. But what I'm going to do now is teach you how to fight using your power.” Lucifer replied placing the plates in the cabinet with the aid of her tail.
“And why am I supposed to learn how to fight?” Rogue asked, handing Lucifer the plates from the sink after he sluiced the plates. Lucifer sweatdropped at his question and released a frustrated sigh.
“ Now that you've awakened your power, the world will become your enemy. There are many people who were seeking your power and now that it has manifested again, they'll stop at nothing to attain it for themselves” She answered truthfully, placing the last of the plates in the cabinets and closed the cabinet doors.
Rogue's mouth formed an O shape showing that he understood what she meant, “ we should go to the hospital now. We need to help my mother as soon as possible” Rogue asseverated, heading to his room to wear comfortable clothing instead of what he wore the day prior.
Lucifer only shook her head at his denseness, but decided to take pleasure in his suffering once he realized he had wings folded on his back, after the several hours she had been with him, she found him interesting. “3..2..1” Lucifer articulated to herself
“YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME” Rogue vociferated, as he realized that his shirt could not fit him due to the wings protruding from his back, Impatiently he stepped on the floor descending down the stairs wearing his pants and shoes, his shirt clutched in his hand. “Why didn't you tell me about this?” Rogue questioned her pointing at the wings on his back.
Lucifer gave a nonchalant shrug, but grinning at that. “ I told you, you need to learn how to use your powers but you were busy asking why. Anyways to make them disappear just imagine them gone” She replied, standing fixing the hems of the shirt making sure the shirt covered her thighs and clothing beneath.
Rogue closed his eyes and focused on the wings, imagining them gone, the wings would retreat into his epidermis till they were nonexistent.
Lucifer was dumbfounded at what she saw, her eyes were half lidded by the eyelids as a smile played on her face. ‘He is a fast learner isn't he well then ’ she thought of how she would exploit this trait of his.
“ Before we get ahead of ourselves. I have to tell you something, to lift the pernicious on your mother, we need to find the heart of a snow dragon. A special plant that blooms under the full moon and a toad that lives in the swamp” Lucifer articulated, gaining Rogue's attention.
Rogue who was in the process of wearing his shirt turned to look at Lucifer, his mouth gaping as his auditory sense assimilated her words. “ We don't have dragons and anyways where will we find them? Not to mention who would fight it?” Rogue asked Lucifer wondering if she had lost her mind or not.
“ Dont worry about the details. I know a place not far from here, it is a connection to this world to the others.” Lucifer smirked at Rogue mischievously, and the duo geared up to partake a journey to save Seraphine
Light showed itself at the end of the tunnel, Rogue spent time looking for the exit but at long last he had managed to leave his subconscious. When he opened his eyes, they were resilient, beaming with power and it was then he finally understood why he needed to subdue those two. As the bearer of bad news, Ein's willow hovered close to him and gave him a message that infuriated Rogue to the brim. “Your daughter is gone and your wife has been placed in a suspended Animation.” Rogue’s eyes dangerously narrowed and his borrows furrowed, veins emerged on his hands and Metaphysical Essence erupted from the pores on his body. “Who took her?” His question was subtle and had a dangerous lingering tone at the end of it. “Chronos emissaries, conquest and Death.” Without further notice, Rogue flashed out of existence. He teleported from the sanctuary and appeared in his residence premises in Tokyo. When he appeared, many people were already at the scene includin
Rogue stirred awake. His head was whirling around, he got up from the bed and held his head. “What happened?” his memory was foggy, he could remember glimpses of what had happened but it wasn't that concise.“You got your ass kicked.” Vinshi replied from the door folding his arms. He strode to Rogue's bed side and sat on the chair that was in front of Rogue.“As much as I hate to admit it, your father was right. You aren't strong to a point of being able to fight Chronos much less his emissaries, you lack power Rogue and if I were you, I'd take his suggestion.” Vinshi enunciated, his words hitting Rogue like a pile of bricks.Rogue knew he was weak even with his versatile repertoire of abilities. He leaned his head back and sighed deeply, then looked at Vinshi again. “Do you think I can defeat them?”Vinshi sighed as well, to be frank he didn't think Rogue at this stage could defeat any of the emissari
The whole house immediately quieted down. As if the sovereigns were not enough now another legion could possibly be knocking on their doorstep, Rogue nodded and folded his hands leaning back into the chair he was sitting on. “So father, how strong is Chronos according to you? Could I beat him at my current level?” He asked, eyes meeting Ein head-on, Rogue wanted to know how far he could take Chronos before defeating him.Ein listened tentatively and as soon as Rogue concluded his statement, he shook his head. “You are quite weak even now. Don't get me wrong if you had gathered all the ten keys it might have been a different story but you only got eight or nine if I'm not wrong.”“Then what do I need to do to get stronger? I need the power to protect everything dear to me.” Rogue replied, his face unyielding no emotions. He was prepared to go to hell and back for his family and he would drag everything threatening his fami
Footsteps heavy as a sledgehammer trudged across the countryside of Hiraizumi, the winds were fierce and they tossed every granule of sand asunder. “Seraphine,” vocals belonging to a man reverberated in the atmosphere, blending in nicely with the ambiance. His silhouette emerged from the obstructing cliff and he took a stand on top of the hill. Dark bristle swayed with the call of mother nature, mystified oculars took in the scenery of the town and a chuckle soon followed after. He was back where he started, after more than ten long years. Seraphine hummed a tune to herself unaware of what was about to occur, she paused as she grabbed the plate and looked at the ceiling above, “I miss my son.” she whispered to the air and her eyes dropped a bit, expressing the sadness that was digging a tunnel inside her heart. Day in and day out her son was fighting against the forces that were out to end his life. Unbeknownst to her, a tear slipped down the right side of her face, she went
Rogue grinned as he heard that roar, he raised his hand and a key manifested on it before it was absorbed into his entity relishing in the grace of the power it unlocked and returned to him. The satisfaction of being partially whole again made him antsy, and he couldn't wait to use his power, starting with the abominations forged by Azathoth. His middle finger and thumb touched and with a snap, Rogue utilized an advanced reality warping ability along with Omni nullification and he immediately wiped all the forces from existence leaving only him and Azathoth facing one another.Azathoth seeing how Rogue easily dismantled Nave and his creations, knew that he was not a foe to be truffled with and taken lightly. According to his observation Rogue was on par with the Ymir and THE HEADLESS HORSEMEN, that Chronos kept by his side. Giving half into this fight would only endanger him, as such he had a choice and he chose to go all out, destroy everything in his path just to dest
Rogue's morphed eyes did not falter as he stared at the pooling abominations, it seemed as if Azathoth wanted to make a grand entrance, Rogue did nothing to stop that. After all, a father must honor his child's stupidity. He pocketed his hands, sighed and looked back at a bruised and battered Nave with a sophisticated grin. The chess pieces were already at play, and he was a single move away from checkmate. As such he wanted to savour the victory, even if it meant he should allow the idiocity to continue.Nave seeing the composed look on Rogue regardless of how many he faced at the moment, started to feel a sense of unease and become angry... What gave him the right to act all smug before them, he and Azathoth were most notorious deities ever to exist and this beat was looking down on them. “You dare look down upon us as if you have attained victory?”Rogue nodded, showing Nave that he was positive that he had victory in his grasp. “Yes, I do. Now the
