Summer POV

Michael springs up and ruffles his hair. I mentally chide myself for ruining the moment. Why on earth did I have to bring forth the war? I watch him pace up and down, lips pursed and brows knitted.

I do not think he remembers that we are fully mated now and I can feel and hear all his emotions and mental battles.

"Calm down Mikey, we will surely not lose each other anymore."

He looks at me and I see his eyes are partly black, showing that Miguel is fighting for dominance. In a guttural voice, he speaks to me.

"I failed you more than anything mi querida compañera and today I give you my word. I will draw my last breath before I let anyone touch you."

The possessiveness in his voice scares and excites me at the same time. I know that a lot has changed henceforth. But I like it like that. Something tells me that I am going to be smothered with love. Not that I am complaining.

"Oh, you so have no idea mi querida niña."
