"How could you do this to your own wife, Orion!" Elaine shouted as the officers grabbed her arms.

"You! Y'all! Don't ever believe any word coming out from that son of a bitch! He's deceiving you! " Her intensely gazed moving from the officers to Detective Carter.

"Elaine, stop! You're just making the situation worse. " A lawyer entered the room, and Miss Mylda followed.

Elaine sighed. "Keep your hands off me, fools!" She forcefully removed her arms from them.

Then she approached Athena, tears streaming from her left eye as she held Athena's handcuffed hands. "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?"

"Hey, what the heck are you two thinking? Release her now! " she said to the officers who were still gripping Athena's arms.

"Goddamn it, I said release her!" Elaine insisted. Detective Carter allowed it, and the officers released Athena.

Elaine wrapped her arms tightly around Athena. Her grip was firm as if she were trying to convey a message through the strength of her embrace. A single tear esc
