Chapter 03 - The Job offer

CHAPTER 03 - THE JOB OFFER

His grandma's last wish was everything to him. Now he was looking for the girl who saved his grandma. He was ready to work day and night for this. In search, when he came out of the room, his eyes fell on the CCTV camera as he asked his manager.

"Sam, help me to get the footage. I want everyone to find that girl."

Following his orders, Sam went to the hospital management, but the response was quite different from what they thought.

"Sir, the camera footage that you're asking about has not been working for the past few days. However, we have another camera in front. We can give you that footage, but it will take some time."

"Please, try to send it as fast as you can."

..................................

While on the one hand, the whole company of Shawn was engaged in finding that helping girl. Selena had her life's best morning.

It seemed as if her dark life had finally seen a ray of light. Running faster than a bullet train, when Camila came to her room, she was surprised to find her sleeping.

Annoyed, Camilla pulled her blanket side down and tapped on her arm.

"Selena, wake up. It's not time for sleeping."

Murmuring while keeping her eyes closed, Selena moved aside.

"Umm... Let me sleep a little bit more."

"You'll regret it later. I just found a job offer letter in your mailbox."

Upon hearing it, her eyes suddenly opened as she stood up, moving her hair strands aside. "What did you say?"

Showing the desktop opened, she said. "Check it by yourself. You got a job offer from one of the most top-class companies."

Selena couldn't believe her, and so she checked by herself. But the first line of mail was enough for her to faint.

"Vaughan groups?"

"Yes, my girl. The company of Shawn Vaughan is like a dream company for every worker. Not only a handsome, dashing CEO but also a huge income."

Selena was in her world when Camila shook her, which made her come back to reality. She pulled Selena into a tight hug as a smile finally appeared on her lips.

"Will mom be proud of me, Camila?"

Smiling, she rubbed her back and whispered. "Everyone will be, Selena."

There was no measure of Selena's happiness. She finally got a chance today after so many days. Her rejections, hard work lastly led to the most prominent light, Vaughan groups.

....................................

After a day's exhausting work, Shawn could finally relax. He just went to his favorite place, which could be the best place to release exhaust, the hot shower.

He just stood up in his favorite hot shower and turned on the button. The cozy warm water escaped the shower's head and fell on his masculine, pearly skin.

Breathing out, he closed his eyes while running his hand through his wet hair. At all times, his mind seemed fixed on that night's unexpected kiss.

Her Vanilla scent was not leaving him alone as if it was like a drug.

Resting his hand on the wall, he opened his eyes, trying not to remember it. But as much as he tried, the more it passed through his mind.

He felt suffocated as he turned off the shower. Those memories were stressing him more that he could not even enjoy his shower time.

He wrapped a bathrobe around his body and came out. Now, the only thing that could help him was the red wine.

Walking towards the bar counter, he took out a bottle of the red wine, and without pouring it in any glass, he just gulped it down.

"Why is her scent so addictive? How can I get rid of it?"

Though he was thinking about her all the time, he didn't even notice when he fell asleep.

...................................

The morning was a new start to Selena's career. The sun shone brightly in the sky while the clouds ran after each other in the blue cover blanket.

Selena was almost ready for the first day of the office. Her image in the mirror reflected her nervousness yet a cheering smile on her face.

"Selena, hurry up. Do you want to get late on the first day?" Camila shouted from downstairs.

"Coming!"

She brushed her hair once again and gasped before leaving the room and running downstairs.

"I'm ready. Camila, let's go."

As they started leaving, her mom stopped her. "Selena, wait."

Confused, she turned back only to see a happy smile on her mom's face.

"Take it with you." She handed Selena a pen and added. "Your dad signed his first-ever contract with this pen. It's all yours now."

"Mom, now you don't have to worry anymore. I'll take care of you."

Smiling, her mom lifted her hand and patted her head. "Hmm! I'm proud of you, Selena."

Those words were enough to bring tears to her eyes. After all, she did everything just to hear such words from her mom's mouth. It finally came true. But before she could say anything, Camila dragged her out.

"We're getting late, Selena. Let's go."

.......................................

Both of them left together but went separate ways after a turn.

Selena's office was in the west, while Camila's baking shop was in the east.

On her way, she saw an old lady selling some flowers that reminded her of her grandma. She was fond of flowers as her grandma used to garden flowers in her backyard.

The refreshing moments melted her heart as she picked a flower and smelled it.

"Lilly never disappoints to impress me."

The grandma's eyes fell on Selena as she greeted her. "Are you looking for flowers, dear? The one in your hand is one of the most frantic flowers."

Her lips flashed a smile as she nodded while handing the flower to the old lady.

"It's my grandma's favorite flower as well. Can you make a bouquet for me?"

The old lady hummed and started making the bouquet. Selena was solely staring at her, witnessing how hardworking she was even at such an age.

She was beaming while talking to the old lady when someone's shouting voice distracted her.

"AGH!"
