CASSANDRA'S POV

That conversation left me unsettled. What did Alaric owe Priscilla? My gut told me things weren't simple at all.

I slowly stalked towards the bed with my hand on my stomach. I needed to leave him, and this chaos. We needed to talk things over but at this rate, I don't think I could casually leave here until things with the press settled down

Then a scary thought snuck into my mind. Alaric was powerful enough to control the media, but why hasn't he settled things down? Was he using this as a means to hold me here? I suddenly felt like a captive.

I settled on an armchair and then slid into Rebecca's dm. She should be asleep now after a long night at the hospital, but fortunately, her status read online.

Maybe this was a sign. My fingers immediately started to type. My hands trembled slightly but it felt like the best thing to do.

I didn't belong here and needed to cut ties with the Von Duvall family.

Cassie: Hi. I need to ask you a question.

Cassandra's POV Who was she? I was curious who the woman was who could make a man like a complete mess. He broke the kiss, my eyes fluttered, dazed by the sight of him Even in this state he was alluring. His shirt had some loose buttons at the top, and his dark hair was ruffled to the side. The dim light contrasted against him, making him look nothing less than a demon of lust, and my core cried desperately for the demon I should not want. He was thinking of another woman and I was too twisted to acknowledge it. I should have shoved him then but...bloody hell he was a succubus My chest heaved trying to catch up with what was happening. He didn't give me the chance to think. His lips were soon on me again, buried in my neck, kissing and nibbling down to the cleavage of my nightie. I was beyond turned on by this point it felt like I was the drunk one. He parted my legs with a simple movement and soon his crotch was pressed against my wet folds. My nightie had r

Cassandra's POV I froze the moment his arms wrapped around me, pressed so tightly against his chest I could barely breathe. My heart thumped wildly, the sudden closeness sending a shiver down my spine. The bowl shattered against the floor, apples rolling away into the dark like they were trying to escape too. His grip tightened as he pulled me closer, I didn't understand why he was suddenly hugging me until it struck. Then the smell hit me, my scrunched up perceiving the strong pungent scent of alcohol. Sharp enough to give me the urge to throw up. Mixed with cigarette smoke and something bitter underneath it all.My body stiffened, This wasn’t how Alaric smelled. A small smirk crossed my lips. He would rather get drunk than face me. How admirable of him.His arms were locked around my waist, too tight, careless in a way he never was. His forehead pressed into my shoulder, and his breath ghosted over my neck unevenly. Tracing warmth down my skin.“I’m sorry…” he murmured

Cassandra's POV "Do you know when he will be back?" I asked despite knowing the possible answer. She shook his head. "No madam, only his assistant Nathan is aware of his schedule. Maybe I can contact Nathan for you to inquire about his schedule." My eyes sparkled for a moment. So his assistant's name was Nathan. "Can you do that?" I asked him, trying to hold back my excitement. Gregory gave me a faint smile before he nodded. "Of course, I have Nathan's number. I will contact him for you," Gregory replied politely. I nodded then turned towards the bedroom. My appearance wasn't fancy at the moment. I was barefoot with a bird nest on my head and I think I was also drooling too "Will you be having breakfast in your room or downstairs?" He enquired politely. I stopped for a moment before replying "I think I will have breakfast in the garden. If that is possible, I saw there is a cute gazebo there. " I replied. Staying in the room was a bit depressing.

Cassandra's POV "Cassandra I have a lot on my plate. It can wait." So I waited. After his phone call, he left without a word. "When will you be back?" I asked Alaric before he left the room. After being fully dressed, he stopped by the door. He glanced over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of my worried face. "Don't wait for me. I won't be back early." He answered and my stomach dropped immediately. I clutched the edges of my clothes "But..." My voice came out shaky. I had this feeling Alaric was avoiding me, but I couldn't say it out loud. He sighed, sounding a bit tired. "Just try to wait, we will eventually talk and don't do anything crazy for now." He said before walking out the door ****** The entire day I didn't step out of the room. My mood was sour and I didn't want to run into Priscilla either. I was sitting on the balcony overseeing the garden just scrolling aimlessly through social media. The sky was already dark

  • Accidentally Married To The Right Von Duvall    61 - Their past

Cassandra's POV It felt like I was caught cheating or something more dramatic. I was the one with sweaty palms while Alaric remained calm, like he heard nothing, and the silence was eating me up more than I had expected it to be. He went ahead to ask a few questions of his which Vera answered, the entire time I was counting the seconds By the time the brief assessment ended, my nerves were stretched thin. Vera stood up grabbing her stuff. “I’ll arrange a follow-up scan later this week. Until then, rest is essential.”Her eyes flickered to Alaric meaningfully. “I’ll make sure of it,” he replied flatly. "We will be having breakfast soon. How about you join us?" Alaric invited her, and my jaw dropped. Their relationship was so casual. "Maybe next time. I had a surgery scheduled this morning, and I dropped a new diet for Priscilla to help with her condition. I heard she made a fuss about the last one." And like that, I felt like an outsider once again that didn't bel
