05| You met your prince charming today Maya

"Right on time." Maya said and rushed into the restaurant. She didn't run all the way, but she was still really tired. Once she got it, Mr Stanford came out from his small office. "A minute late Maya, it shouldn't repeat itself." He warned, and Maya nodded.

She wanted to roll her eyes at him again, but she couldn't. Afterall, he was the boss.

"Bella's out, you'll be the only one here till late at night. Your pay will come with an extra." He said.

He didn't even give her the chance to say a word, he just walked out of the restaurant rolling his keys in his hands. Maya turned to stare at him till he was out and when she turned to go stay at the counter, her eyes met with the stranger she had seen earlier.

She tapped her forehead and gave him a 'What the hell are you doing here expression."

He walked in, tucking one hand into his pocket and looking super hot.

"I haven't gotten an apology from you young lady." He said. Maya could hear the annoying whispering voices of the many ladies who were seated in the restaurant. Some called her lucky, but she saw absolutely nothing lucky about being bothered by him.

"It was just a silly mistake young man, I was a bit unaware about the traffic light. And moreover, you aren't a baby that should be whining over a silly apology." She fired back.

He pursed his lips, "Ouch, that hurts." And said, holding his chest like her words had gone really deep into his heart.

Maya almost laughed at his behavior. She found what he just did funny, but she didn't want to give him a chance to get into her life. The more she thought about it, the more he behaved like her little brother.

"I won't stop bothering and bugging you till I get an apology." He said.

As he turned to leave, he took just one step and returned back to the exact position he was before. " I'll have lobsters." He ordered.

Maya opened her jaws and looked at him. Then she walked away to go get what he ordered.

Gritting her teeth she brought his order to his table, didn't wait for him to stare at her properly and just walked away.

The only thing she was worried about was Valerie, and her mood immediately changed back to the sad one she wore when she walked in. Valerie was more than a sister to her and she wanted to share most of her pain, not half of it, but most of it. She was the strongest while Val was maybe, not too strong.

Valerie opened her eyes and began rubbing them consecutively. She did that for about a minute before fully understanding the environment.

"Maya." She called, but there was no response. Her stomach grumbled so much and her eyes immediately caught the plate of food right beside her. It called her attention so much that she didn't think twice before opening it up.

She picked up her phone to phone Maya, but saw her message instead. A frown formed on her lips when she recalled the hospital, and everything that was going on in her life.

"Baby, Mama's here, and she's keeping you." She boldly said and began munching on the food when her stomach wouldn't stop grumbling. The house was as boring as hell, and she had no idea what to do. Visiting Maya wasn't an option after she had vowed never to return back there, as it would hurt her pride so much.

Looking for a job crossed her mind next. As she stood up from the bed, she fell down back on it when her back made funny noises. "Okay, tomorrow it is then."

In less than an hour, Valerie was sure to drift off to sleep. Well, it was all about the pregnancy.

He remained seated, and his eyes glued to his phone for hours without blinking. Maya had thought he would go insane in some minutes, but he didn't take his eyes off his phone. She had been watching him since his eyes were on his phone.

She finally walked up to him. "You've been here for 3 hours now sir, aren't you going to leave?" She questioned, trying to ignore the questions on her mind.

"I told you, I'll keep bugging you till I receive an apology." He replied, without raising his head to look at her.

Maya furrowed her forehead, "Dream on." And muttered before walking back to the counter.

"Welcome.." She greeted immediately as more customers walked into the restaurant, and finally glad that she would be busy enough to ignore the strange guy.

"Crispy chicken, Rice and sauce, I'll be back in a jiffy." She replied to the customers that gave their orders and walked away.

Once she came back, she dropped their orders on the table. "Enjoy." And said before walking away.

Hours later…

Maya yawned loudly, stretching her body so much. She had almost fallen asleep countless times, but when she recalled the stranger was still in the restaurant, she would sit back up and lightly tap her cheeks to stay awake.

Bella suddenly walked in, swaying her body like someone who didn't care as she stared at Maya.

"Good thing you're here Bella, take the rest of the shift, I'll be off." Maya yelled, gathering her things into her bag. She checked her wristwatch and nearly screamed when she saw the time.

"10:00? Shit!"

She ignored the stranger staring at her and zoomed out of the restaurant. Her legs were beginning to hurt so much with her standing and waiting for the arrival of a vacant taxi, but there was none.

"Hop in, I'll give you a ride." She heard a familiar and annoying voice say.

"If you think this will make me feel grateful and apologize, then you better…."

"Just hop in and stop being so silly." He cut her off and opened the door for her instead. Maya was really dying to get in, but her pride wouldn't let her.

She ignored him and continued waiting for a taxi, and luckily, she found one. Sticking out her tongue, she walked away and got into the taxi.

"Val.. oh Val, I'm so sorry. I had to stay late at work and you know Mr Stanford is?" Maya rushed her words immediately as she got into the room, rubbing her hands together in a pleading way.

"It's fine Maya, you shouldn't explain everything to me okay." Val replied.

She stood up and walked towards the kitchen to dish out food for Maya who had landed roughly on the bed.

"I need to look for a job Maya, feeding off from your pocket makes me feel so useless." Valerie started.

Maya yawned and settled to lay on the bed, "First of all, don't ever say such cause it's hurts a lot, and second, only till you're heavy." Maya replied.

Valerie nodded her head in relief.

"I met the craziest guy on earth today, and believe me the imagination of his face still creeps the hell out of me."

Valerie chuckled, "Or you met your prince charming today Maya."
