06| Visiting her baby's daddy

"Mr charming? Oh jeez Val, say something better than that. Mr charming my ass. Seriously he's too clingy and you know how much I hate such people." Maya complained.

"Get a man soon girl, you're getting to old, and soon, you'll be all wrinkled."

Maya rolled her eyes still munching on her food. "I hate all men, especially those who believe we're something worthless they can trample on."

Maya's words brought back memories of Sam to Valerie, the smile on her face suddenly turned into a deep frown that left her almost dropping a tear from her eyes.

"If I should ever lay my eyes on that cruel bastard, I'll pull out his heart, his lungs, everything, till he gets to feel what you're feeling. He destroyed your life and he gets to live in peace."

Valerie cleaned up the tears from her cheek and then sniffled, "That's enough Maya, I don't want to talk about Sam."

"Fine, just know I won't let him go scott free whenever I see him."

"I'm going to show him and the world I am not somebody to be trampled upon just like that." Valerie said. She crawled up to the bed, grabbed a pillow and laid on it, burying her face in the pillow to cry herself to stupor silently.

Life was really treating her in the cruelest way it could treat anyone, but she wasn't planning on giving up so soon.

Once Maya was done eating, she went towards the kitchen and dropped her plate, then walked back out. She leaned the left side of her body on the wall, and stared at Valerie for a few minutes.

If there was anything, just anything she could do to get back the once cheerful Valerie, the Valerie that was always filled with love, hope, and never kept a frown on her face. Love was a bastard, and Maya wasn't going to let it pull her down.

"Val, hey Val, get up will you." Maya yelled, tapping her lightly.

Using the pillow to cover up her face, Valerie mumbled in her sleep, "Go away Maya."

"Okay, I give up. Whatever you say girl, just know I'm off to work and I warned you." Maya said. She turned to leave, but began counting her steps when she was sure Valerie would jerk up from the bed any moment from now.

"Mayaaaa." Valerie yelled, jerking up from the bed. Maya could only burst out into laughter and the next seconds, she was being chased by Valerie.

"How dare you, you wanted to leave without me?" Valerie yelled again and when she felt tired, she instantly fell on the bed.

"I'll be off to work Val, don't stress yourself so much okay." Maya warned with concern.

"You aren't my husband Maya, stop whining." Maya kept one hand on her waist line when Valerie said that, with a smirk at the left corner of her lips. "I love you girl, don't forget that." She said, and rushed out of the room in a hurry.

"I love you too.." Valerie yelled back, just enough for Maya to hear.

The hot scorching sun tampered with her skin, but Valerie wasn't ready to give up. She needed any kind of job really badly, but it seemed like they were all rejecting her.

She wondered if she was really affected with some kind of disease that made people run away from her, or try to avoid her.

Tired of walking around with nothing fruitful, she stayed under a shade to prevent her skin from enduring more of the harsh sun rays. She dusted the sweats on her forehead off, and sat down on the long small stool under the shade she stayed.

Unknowingly, a tear fell out of her eyes, and it made her wonder if she was really wanted by anybody in the world. She meant nothing to anyone except Maya, and these past few years Sam was the only guy making her feel a bit special.

Suddenly, a newspaper scurried down the road side till it finally got stuck on her legs. Reluctant to pick it up at first, she finally did and stared at it.

She stared at the so many job opportunities she could get only if she was educated, and had a more classy lifestyle. Opening to the next page, she finally saw the picture of the man she had thought she would never see again. One look, and she could instantly recognize him.

"Nelson Davon." Was the name boldly written on it. The more she read about the man, it finally dawned on her that she had slept with a super wealthy Billionaire who owned so many companies, and the best of all in New York.

Stunned, she used her hands to cover her mouth, in order not to scream out loud. Was she dreaming, no, it could be a dream that was toying with her.

She rubbed her eyes, trying to be sure it was him, but yes, he was the one she had slept with. She stared at the newspaper to read more information about it, and luckily, the address to his ten Billionaire house came in sight.

She gasped a little, staring at his net worth and then stood up from the stool. "This baby also belongs to him" Valerie thought, "I can't sit back and watch myself take all the burden." She continued, dipping her hands into her purse to bring out some dollar bills she had planned on using to buy new shoes.

"Taxi." She called, and boldly walked into the cab.

"Take me there." She passed a small piece of paper she had used to write the address to him and leaned to rest properly on the back seat.

After a really long drive, the cab man stopped. Valerie stepped down from the cab and through the window, she stretched a few dollar bills to him. Happily, he collected it and zoomed away.

She turned to stare at the house, to behold such a magnificent building, and it made her wonder just how much power he was holding.

She rubbed her belly softly, still staring at the building. Her legs were becoming wobbly as they were approaching the house, and she began contemplating whether to hit the button or not.

Anyways, after a long moment of contemplation, she closed her eyes and finally hit the button till the gate was opened for her to walk in.
