Chapter 1

"I do not accept Marina Jones as my wife." A gasp filled the hall immediately Jayden rejected the vows from the mouth of the priest for the second time in a row. Everyone was surprised at the sudden turn of events.

The hall went into panic, whispers filled the hall, and both the girl's and boy's parents ran to the front. "What do you think you are doing Jayden?"

"What's wrong with you Jayden? Accept the wedding vows and get married to Marina." Marina's mum chided, pulling Jayden's arm and he pulled out like her presence was irritating.

"The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, does it? Daniel, display the photos." Jayden’s voice was loud and almost immediately, pictures of Marina lying naked in the arms of another man were brought up on the trajectory

"Does this look familiar?" He raised a brow and Marina's eyes widened when she caught sight of what everyone was gasping at.

"I have no idea what that is." She yelled gesturing at the photos.

"I can't get married to a woman that cheats a night to her wedding day.!" Jayden yelled which was loud enough for everyone to hear.

Marina stood there with tears in her eyes, she refused to let them fall. Watching her wedding get ruined was the last thing she ever imagined, she never thought there would come a day when all her fairytales would be destroyed before her own eyes but here it was.

She couldn't even understand the pictures that were been displayed on the trajectory because she had been with her mum all night the past day.

Hearing Jayden reject her on the alter, slashed her heart like a sword running through meat. He did not have to do this to her here, but he chose to make a mockery of her before everyone she knew.

"She cheated? How belittling. She should be ashamed of herself."

"Just say something, Mari. Is this true?" Her mum queried In a low voice that was about to crack into tears.

The murmurs in the hall did not reduce even a little bit, many gazed at Marina with disdain in their eyes. Everyone had always thought Marina Jones would get married to Jayden Hawthorne, the number one bachelor in town but the reality of things was quite different.

"She is so pitiful, imagine her groom rejecting her on the altar."

The murmurs were not reducing and the media kept taking pictures of everything happening in the hall. Marina felt her ears were going to burn with the whispers and talks, it was like her whole world was crumbling on her feet to her.

The tears threatened to fall from her eyes but Marina refused to let them fall, raising her head she gazed at Jayden with tears in her eyes.

"Jayden, we've been betrothed our whole life. You know me and what I'm capable of, this isn't true. I've been framed, can't you see? I don't know how you got those pictures but this isn't me." Marina yelled as her eyes twitched with tears while she pulled his shoulders.

The whispers in the hall reduced at the sound of Marina's voice, everyone focused their attention on her wondering what was going to happen.

"Take your hands off me now." Jayden said calmly, shifting backwards like her very presence made him feel irritated.

"I said, take your flirty hands off me, Marina." Jayden half-yelled peeling his hands away from her body. His eyes glowed with hatred as she stared at him.

Marina stared at the crowd and back to him, no one was going to believe anything she said and she wasn't the kind of person who loved explaining herself. She was rather sure that this would crumble her social standing and everything she had lived for.

She turned to her parents and they gave her a look of disgust, no one in the entire hall was in support of her.

"Marina, how could you do this"

"Priest, I think I'm next in my line. Continue the vows.." Marina remarked throwing a fleeting gaze on the priest as she remained as calm as ever.

"Marina, what are you trying to do? Stop this! You've already ruined our reputation, don't take it further." Mrs. Jones yelled trying to stop her daughter from doing something foolish.

"Her vows? Does this make sense?"

"He already rejected her, what does she want to do now?" The people whispered confused at Marina's request.

"Continue the vows." She wasn't listening to them, she was hell bent on doing what was replaying at the back of her head.

"This does not make sense. All you are is a slut that has no shame." Jayden raised his brows as he wondered what she was aiming to achieve.

The young priest trembled where he stood, her gaze was piercing. Opening the book, he continued like he was asked.

"Do you Marina Jones take Jayden Hawthorne as your lawfully wedded husband? To love him in"

"No, I do not!."

Gasps filled the hall at Marina's reply. "Is she insane? What is she trying to do?"

"She is rejecting him too, giving him a taste of his own medicine!"

"Do you take him as your lawfully....."

"No, I do not!"

"For the last time, do you take him as your lawfully wedded..."

"No, I do not and will never!." Marina replied looking straight into Jayden's eyes, a smile creeping into her lips as she walked off the podium and went into the restroom. It was weird as no one knew what she was up to.

"You can still get married today, that's if you want it." A deep baritone voice stated from behind her as she tried to stop the tears that were flowing out of her eyes.

"What rubbish is that? I'm supposed to do what? Drag him into the marriage? No one would believe that I'm innocent." Marina yelled as her thoughts were not flowing in the right direction any longer.

"I do. The photo looks photoshopped, I guess your fiancee is to dumb not to see it and It just so happens that I'm looking for a bride for just 3 months, you can get married to me to save your face and at the expiration of 3 months, when I've accomplished what I want; we get a divorce." A smirk was on his face as she looked up at him with tears-filled eyes.

"I'll do it."
