I returned to the country to study. The moment I stepped onto campus, I was surrounded by a group of people. The girl leading them was incredibly arrogant. Everyone around her fawned over her, calling her "Miss Gaston". She stared intently at the bag I was carrying and scoffed aloud. "So you're the girl who seduced my brother and stole the bag I ordered?" Her sidekicks immediately chimed in and jeered. "Gold diggers nowadays will do anything for money!" "Not only are you leeching off the Gaston family, you even dare to steal from Nina! Do you know who she is? She's the young lady of the Gaston family!" "Hand over the bag and apologize to Nina right now or we'll teach you a lesson!" Listening to them flatter the girl in the middle, I chuckled softly. If she's Miss Gaston, then who am I? I took out my phone and sent a text to my brother, Henry Gaston. "When did Mom and Dad have a third child? How come I didn't know I had a sister?"

Chapter 1

Henry's reply came back instantly. "Did the culture shock make you dumb? Mom and Dad only have two kids: you and I. There's no third child."

After reading the reply, I glanced at the girl before me.

Although her makeup was meticulously done, she didn't resemble anyone in our family.

I had a hunch, but I still texted Henry to ask. "If we have no younger sister, then how come there's a 'Miss Gaston' confronting me with her lackeys?"

The chat showed that my brother was "typing..." for a long time, then a few long paragraphs of text came pouring in.

"Miss Gaston? Don't tell me you ran into Nina Ferrell? I'm so fed up with her. She keeps telling everyone at school that she's my sister. Mom and Dad sponsored her for a few years out of kindness, and she thinks she's part of the Gaston family now!

"It's Mom's fault, her heart is too soft. Whenever Nina cries and plays the victim, Mom lets her get away with anything. She said Nina has had a rough life. Because of that, Nina keeps telling people she's a Gaston and uses that to her advantage to gain benefits.

"You don't have to show her any respect! If she acts up, just yell at her! That's what I did!"

I knew Mom and Dad sponsored a student from a disadvantaged background.

At the time, I was abroad with Grandpa and Grandma.

Meanwhile, Henry was always traveling and was rarely home.

We were worried Mom and Dad would feel lonely, so we weren't against it, thinking it would be good for them to have some company.

Surely, even if that poor student wasn't grateful, she'd at least be well-behaved and sensible, right? Yet, she was actually using the Gaston name to throw her weight around outside.

Looking at my brother's complaints, I could tell that he had been unhappy with Nina for a long time.

The thought of my brother, the young master of the Gaston family, losing to a poor sponsored student amused me a little.

Nina, seeing me focused on my phone, immediately became irritated.

She signaled to one of her followers, who instantly understood and tried to slap me.

I stepped back to dodge the slap and raised an eyebrow at Nina. "So impatient. Why don't you check your phone first?"

Before Nina could say anything, the phone in her pocket rang.

One look at the screen and her face instantly froze.

Her expression changed several times. Finally, she put on a confident smile. She answered the call and spoke first.

"Brother, your girlfriend is such a terrible person. She's so disrespectful to me. Who knows what kind of trouble she'll cause in the future! Did you call me because she made up lies about me?"

Her words earned an angry response from my brother.

"What kind of nonsense are you saying? Do you know who Jenny is?! Apologize to her right now!"

Nina didn't expect my brother to yell at her after hearing her twisted version of the story. She immediately sounded even more aggrieved.

"I'm doing this for your own good, Henry. She's a gold digger, how can you not see that? No matter how rich our family is, we shouldn't let a gold digger like her squander it!

"You should make her apologize to me instead and also make her return the bag to me! Otherwise, I'll complain to Mom and never talk to you again!"
