Chapter 6

After I had escorted my grandpa home and taken him to his room downstairs, I ensured that my grandpa drank his medicine before leaving him in the care of Angela and going back upstairs to my bedroom.

I went into my closet and changed my casual clothes into a blue suit, and I set out to leave for the company. I had a business meeting at noon with my shareholders and partners.

I had already contacted Henry Black to reschedule the business meeting to the afternoon, and I had asked my secretary to let her know that I would not be arriving at the company on time.

The day was Saturday, October 18, and I took my time to dress up properly in my room. The business meeting included meeting with other foreign partners that I work with, even though Grandpa Charlie had disconnected his company association from mine, except if I married to give him a great-grandchild or impregnated someone before the year-end.

I knew I still had to work very hard to control Grandpa's company too. It was only a temporary warning, but I still didn't want to take my Grandpa's warning seriously, nor his written will either.

I walked towards my room mirror again to examine my looks, and I adjusted my blue suit necktie to fit properly.

After I was done adjusting my suit, I wore my socks and black shoes, and I left the house and went downstairs to my garage, where I have a lot of cars, ranging from SUVs to my G-wagon and sports cars. I drove around the city by myself.

I walked towards my black SUV, a black Range Rover Sport, as it was one of my favorite cars. I got into the driver's seat, started the vehicle engine, and finally drove out of my residence and to my company.

I was still thinking about Thelma, the young lady I had a one-night stand with, and I thought it best to get a complete full information check about her. I could not remember using any protection on her either the previous night, and it wasn't like I had a protective cap to wear, as I wasn't planning on sleeping with any woman either.

Knowing it was her first time too, I felt bad, as I had slept with her roughly because I hadn't been with a woman before.

I finally arrived at my company's gate. It was a smooth ride from home to the office, without any holdups along the way.

I drove into my company headquarters, where my office was located. We have other smaller branches in the other states.

I stepped down elegantly from my car and walked towards the company building, with the bodyguards guarding the luxurious five-star building.

I made my way towards the elevator and went up to the third floor where the meeting hall was, using the private elevator. I stepped out and went straight for the business meeting.

I was a black man, so it wasn't visible on my face what had happened to me the previous night.

I was very mean and unfriendly with most of my staff, and they knew it was best to work diligently, and even the female staff did not try to seduce me at work.

I entered the large meeting hall and made my way towards the head seat, where I usually sat as the CEO of MW Group.

I could see that most of our top partners had arrived, and they all had a displeased look on their faces, as I had arrived late, and the meeting hall was silent as I finally sat down on my seat.

I did not know what the point of discussion was all about again, as all I could think of was Thelma.

What had she done to me? I do not know, but I was sweating, despite the air conditioning in the meeting hall.

Luckily, my assistant Henry Black was there to help me out, and he stood up and started to read out the brief of the business meeting to all our partners in the meeting hall, including the new marketing value, pricing, and shares that we have in partnering with them.

We only have one top competitor, and that was the BEEH Group, as they were far ahead of us. After the business meeting had come to an end, and since I was still sweating seriously, I stood up and shook hands with some of our partners, not having the time to negotiate with them. I told them to meet with Henry Black, and I finally left the meeting hall with a displeased look on my face.

I wasn't in the right mood to speak with any of our top partners, and I knew they were aware of my mood swings at times, as I have heard different comments about me.

I was a 30 year old man, so I made my way out of the meeting hall and entered the elevator that took me upward to the fourth floor. I stepped out of the elevator again and walked towards my office door, where my secretary, Mrs. Tonia Briggs, a middle-aged woman in a black suit, stood up from her office seat and greeted me, "Good afternoon, boss."

Mrs. Tonia was a light-skinned woman, and I knew that she was married with two kids. I managed to respond to her greeting, not wanting to be rude, as I finally went into my office.

My office was wide and spacious, painted in white, mixed with ash grey color.

I walked towards my black office chair and stopped beside the huge desk, taking off my blue coat first. I subtly blamed myself for not listening to Doctor Amari's advice earlier to have a quick medical check-up, after seeing that I was sweating.

I took off my coat and dropped it aside on another seat. I was not expecting any guests, and to prevent any clients from coming into my office to see me. As the day was Saturday, and not our usual working day, and more likely, I was sweating hot despite the air conditioning in my office.

I picked up my office telephone and placed a call across to Mrs. Tonia Briggs' office line. The phone call connected, and I informed Mrs. Tonia not to allow anyone into my office and to direct them all to the rest of the top staff's offices that were around. I also asked her to reschedule any important business appointments until I had the time to meet with anyone.

Mrs. Tonia replied, "Okay, boss."

I immediately ended the office call and dropped the telephone line, while I walked to my fridge and took out a cold bottle of water to drink from it and to calm my body.

I finally settled on my office seat and thought about Thelma again, and what kind of witchcraft she had possessed me with, as I could not stop thinking about her.

"Oh! Maybe it's because I haven't been with a woman before, but why can't I just stop thinking about her?" I grimaced and picked up my office line again to place a call across to Sir Adam, to know if he had found out Thelma's full details since he brought her to me the previous night.

The phone call rang on the first ring, but Sir Adam did not pick up my call immediately. I frowned and called Sir Adam again, and he finally answered my call.

"Hello, boss," Sir Adam said, and I immediately asked him, "Have you found out any details about Thelma's real information yet?"

"No, boss, but we are still trying to match her identity. The only identity that we found that matched with her real image was Thelma Sebastian, CEO Conrad Sebastian, and Melissa Sebastian's only daughter," Sir Adam said to me, and I froze and sat up properly on my office seat, as the revelation took some time to register its meaning in my brain and to know who exactly Sir Adam was talking about.

"What?? Which Conrad Sebastian are you talking about, Sir Adam?" I asked again, and Sir Adam replied, "Uhm, boss, I think Thelma is the daughter of the CEO of BH Group."

"What!" The phone line went silent for a while, and I finally replied, "I do not believe you, Sir Adam. Do your finding properly."

"Well, boss, that's what the hacker found. Maybe when I find another identity that truly matched with Thelma's image, I will let you know about it."

I sighed heavily and replied, "Okay."

The phone call had long ended, but I was still staring at my phone screen in disbelief, as I could not believe that I had slept with my enemy's daughter.

BH Group was totally monitoring all my company's activities and literally creating everything that my company also does.

For a long time, me and Steven Sabastain haven't interacted, even though we meet at any shows or award ceremonies, since Steven and I mostly compete for the Best Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Best Businessman of the Year Award, Billionaire of the Year Award, and our companies are also mostly compared by other growing companies that looked up to us and wanted to know which company was the best among my grandfather's company, named LX Group, and the BeeH Group.

I continued to stare at my phone screen silently, and I finally dropped the phone down on my office desk, as I could not believe that CEO Conrad Sabastain would allow his only daughter to sleep outside late at night and without bodyguards.

"This is unbelievable!" I said, as I sat up properly again and finally switched on my computer to research about CEO Conrad Sabastain and his entire family online, for the very first time in my life.
