 (Violetta POV)

I checked the sample contract, which I received from that alpha, and I read everything. Not a single hidden clause was present, but somehow, all the news that I read on the internet about him wasn’t easy to digest.

“No, Violet. You don’t have to marry a beast just to avoid another monster,” I reminded myself and slept on the bed with dried tear marks on my cheeks.

When I opened my eyes, it was already 9 in the morning. I almost jumped out of bed because I had promised someone to meet in front of the marriage registration office. I quickly picked up a simple but elegant dress and took a quick shower.

In just fifteen minutes, I was almost ready. I was about to head out when my phone started ringing. I know who it will be, so I didn’t pick up the call. And then I recalled that I had decided to back out of that deal. Marrying a cursed alpha, who didn't hesitate to k!ll his own mate, wouldn't be a wise idea after all.

“Violetta! Come out and meet the guests,” My mother started calling my name, and quickly picked up my bag and headed towards the breakfast table.

When I headed downstairs, I found a few men sitting with my parents. They were so happy, and their faces almost glowed.

“Violleta! Come here. Look, Mr. Warren came to meet you in person,” I felt like I heard something wrong. I looked at the man who was looking at me with lust-filled eyes. He stood up and smiled, but I felt like I was about to throw up. I looked towards my parents like someone had stabbed my heart with a silver stake.

“I have already told you about my answer, so why the hell did you invite him into this house?” I asked through gritted teeth, and their smiles faltered a bit, but they quickly forced another fake smile to hide their real expressions.

“Aha! She is a feisty one. I like her, and I like wild cats a bit more. Don’t worry! I am willing to double the dowry price for you,” He said while eyeing me like a vulture from head to toe. He touched his pudgy belly, and I wanted nothing to punch the living daylight out of him.

“Mom! I have to meet a friend. I am going there, and she is in an emergency, so I will not be back for a few hours,” I said and turned on my heels like my feet were on fire. I have already sensed their intentions, and when that f*cker doubles the dowry price, I felt like they would do anything to trap me in this marriage, so for now, I have only left with one visible option. I know, It won’t be easy to survive with a cursed beast, but it would be way better than this predatory monster.

“Violetta! Mr. Warren is here to see you. You are not allowed to step out of this house,” My father ordered me in an angry voice, but I was already on my way. I quickly opened the door of my car and revved the engine before they got time to stop me from going there. F*ck! I had never thought that I had to run away from my house because of their greedy natures.

F*ck! I didn’t reply to him last night and even ignored his calls in the morning. What if he has already decided to cancel our deal… F*ck, f*ck, f*ck! I have no other way but to go and beg him to marry me. Sh*t! I don’t know when my life turned into a sh*t show. All the thoughts were making my head hurt, so I picked up my speed and in just ten minutes, I was already present in front of the Marriage registration office. I stepped out of my car and looked around. No one was present around, and I felt like crying.

I gulped hard and decided to dial the number with shaking hands. I know, I was looking like a bus wreck with everything going on in my life. All the pedestrians were looking at my face with sympathy-filled eyes, but I didn’t care about them. Just when I dialled the call button, a phone rang just a few steps away from me. I quickly turned towards the person, and there he was… Alpha Draven King, with a displeased expression etched on his face.

“I hate slackers, and you are…” He checked his watch, but before he could utter another word, I almost ran towards me and hugged him. I know I caught him off guard because he encircled his arms around my body after a few seconds.

“You came… You didn’t cancel our deal,” I mumbled under my breath, and he slowly patted my head.

“No need to worry, Miss Violetta. I am a man of my word,” he said, and after a few minutes, I finally stepped away from him. My emotions were much more stable now, and my heart calmed down a bit. I noticed Gerald, who was trying hard to suppress his smile. I also noticed how a few people stopped to witness our encounter. My cheeks turned red, and he cleared his throat to lessen the awkwardness a bit.

“I am sorry! I got a bit emotional just now,” I quickly apologized, and he arched his brow but didn’t say anything else.

“Gerald! Please give Miss Romera our contract,” He handed me the contract, and I quickly read it before signing it.

“Are you sure?” He asked once again, and I nodded in yes.

“Good!” With this, He signed the contract as well before entering the marriage registration office with me.

In just an hour, we were legally tied in a relationship. I don’t know how it will proceed from now on, but one thing was sure, it can’t be worse than what my parents chose for me.

I took a deep breath and headed towards my car.

“Where are you going, Miss Violetta?” He asked, and I looked towards him with a puzzled look.

“To my car,” I pointed towards it and stepped towards it.

“You are now my wife, and your new home is my house. So Come with me,” He held my hand, and we walked towards his Maybach. I was still processing his words when he opened the door for me himself. I took a deep breath and stepped inside.

“I know we don’t have a real relationship, but your protection and safety are my responsibility, so I will assign a personal guard to you. Although you are free to choose a partner despite this marriage but I want to remind you that you have to keep it hidden, okay?” He reminded me, and I nodded in yes. I didn’t inform my parents about it, and I have no idea what they will do after hearing about my marriage.

“I hope you will not regret this decision in the future,” He mumbled, but I heard it clearly.

“No, Alpha! I will not regret this decision at all,” I answered in a determined tone, but his smile made me confused.

“Let’s see,” He said, and with this, Gerald started the car.

“I hope so,” I thought, because now, It was too late to regret my decision.

The party faded behind them like a dream that lingered on the skin.Draven’s hand remained at the small of Violetta’s back as they walked through the palace gates, his thumb brushing slow, absent circles as if to reassure himself that she was real, that this peace was real. When the guests dispersed, Draven pulled Violetta into a dark corner with a teasing smile plastered on his face. “So, what were you saying, My Queen?” Violetta furrowed her brows and acted clueless. “I don’t know what you are talking about,” She answered, and he snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. “Let me remind you then, My Queen,” He said and pressed his lips to her plump lips. A groan escaped his throat, and Violetta’s heart fluttered. Heat pooled in her core, and she tried hard to control it. But his closeness was not making it easier for her. “F*ck! I can smell your arousal, Love. And you are not making it easier for me,” He growled and deepened the kiss. Violetta smiled and put a hand o

The royal palace glittered like a living jewel.Crystal chandeliers poured light over marble floors, gold-threaded banners bearing the insignias of every major pack lining the grand hall. Power gathered here tonight—measured not just in titles, but in glances, alliances, and unspoken debts.Violetta stood beside Draven, her hand resting lightly on his arm.She wore deep emerald silk, simple but striking, the kind of elegance that didn’t beg for attention yet claimed it anyway. She felt dozens of eyes on her—some curious, some assessing, some sharp with envy.Draven leaned closer, his voice low. “Stay where you’re comfortable. I won’t be far.”She nodded. “Go. The slip happened quietly. That was the most terrifying part.Violetta noticed it when Asher’s hand tightened around hers—not painfully, just enough to make her glance down. His fingers were longer. Not by much. Just enough to be wrong. Her breath caught.“Asher…” she whispered. He followed her gaze. And froze. The skin along his knuckles darkened faintly, veins standing out like black threads beneath the surface. His nails weren’t claws—not yet—but they were sharper, edges catching the light.“No,” he breathed. “Not now.”He tried to pull his hand away.Violetta didn’t let him.Her heart was pounding so hard she could hear it in her ears, fear licking up her spine—but she stayed. She forced herself to stay.“You’re still you,” she said, though her voice trembled. “I’m right here.”Asher’s jaw clenched. Sweat beaded at his temple as the curse reacted violently to her closeness—confused, enraged, cornered.“You shouldn’t see this,” he said hoarsely. “This is what comes before—”“Before

The night didn’t end with tears. It ended with silence—heavy, sacred silence. Violetta lay awake long after Asher thought she had fallen asleep, listening to the steady rhythm of his breathing beside her. His arm rested protectively across her waist, as if he were afraid she might disappear if he loosened his hold even slightly. For the first time since the attack, the room didn’t feel like a cage. It felt like shelter. But somewhere deep inside Asher, something shifted. At first, it was subtle—an ache beneath his skin, a heat that bloomed slowly in his chest. He frowned in his sleep, jaw tightening, breath growing uneven. The curse was awake. It always sensed closeness. Safety. Attachment. Those were its favorite things to corrupt. Asher’s fingers twitched against Violetta’s side, claws threatening to surface. His heartbeat thundered, loud enough that Violetta fel

Violetta woke up screaming. Her body jolted upright, breath tearing out of her chest as if she had been dragged back into that dark room again—hands on her wrists, the smell of alcohol, the sound of a man’s voice dripping with cruelty.“No—! Please leave me…” She looked around frantically as if she wanted to escape this place. Arms wrapped around her instantly.“Asher,” she gasped, clutching at his shirt as if the world might vanish if she let go. Her nails dug into him, shaking, desperate.“I’m here,” he murmured, pulling her fully against him, one hand cradling the back of her head, the other rubbing slow, steady circles down her spine. “You’re safe. I’ve got you.” Her sobs came hard and broken, muffled against his chest.
