“And you think I will choose you, right?” I looked at Liam’s face and then towards Claudia.
“Liam! I am not ready for any pranks right now.” I forced a smile, and he threw his head back before laughing like I just cracked a joke.
“Oh my goodness, Violetta! Are you really this dumb?” He asked and looked at my face like he wanted to search for something.
“Liam! You have been with me for the past three years, and now this… I really can’t understand anything. You are my fiancée,” I answered in a serious tone.
“Today is my birthday, and you are flirting with your ex-girlfriend. What the heck is wrong with you?” He pressed his lips into a thin line.
“Because my son didn’t deserve a barren wolf like you,” Luna Rosetta, Liam's mother, answered, and my mouth hung open.
“But, I am his destined mate,” I tried to give her an explanation, and she flipped a bird if it didn’t matter anymore.
“You just blinded him with your innocence, but now he finally knows what type of girl you are. Besides, He was always in love with Claudia. You were just a replacement and nothing else.” Luna Rosetta’s venomous tone took me off guard.
“Liam!!! Say something. What the hell is your mother saying? You were done with Claudia a long time ago, right?” I looked at his face.
“Violetta! I am done with you, not her. She always loved me, and you can never love me like her. She left me in anger, and now she regrets her decision. After meeting Claudia again, I realized our relationship was nothing but a sham. She made me realize what my life was missing, and there is no need to create a scene here because it's my decision to take in a chosen mate, not a fated one,” He explained everything in a single breath like he was announcing a decision to the pack.
“Oh, really? You are realizing this now after wasting three years of my life, hmm? Are you for real, Liam? Where was your Claudia when your pack was struggling with debt, and I helped you with all this? She is just a greedy sl*t, who came back after your success.” My blood began to boil with anger after hearing everything. Luna Rosetta didn’t like me from the start, and Liam never stood up for me like this, but for Claudia, both of them were acting totally different.
“I am being rational here, Violetta. Don’t act like an emotional fool and ruin Claudia’s function. I am the Alpha of this pack, and I have to think about my future too. She can give me a healthy pup and the future heir of this pack. She will help me continue this lineage,” He answered, and my heart ached after hearing it. I thought He prepared all this for my birthday, but I was wrong. He threw this party to propose to Claudia f*cking Ryan.
“B-but you said… You don’t c-care about this weakness of mine,” I staggered back in shock, and he laughed like a cruel maniac.
“I was blinded by your love at that time, but now… We have to start thinking about our future and our pack too,” He cleared his throat, and I laughed while tears were rolling down my cheeks.
“Oh, really? Everything was right until she came into our lives, right? Is she this amazing in bed, hmm?” I asked, and his face turned red.
“Violetta!!! I will not let you insult Claudia like this,” He raised his voice at me in front of all the guests. I clenched my fists in anger. Everything was right, and Liam was happy with me when Claudia came back from Australia three months ago. Everything started falling apart like she cursed our relationship. Or maybe, I was the third wheel in all this from the start.
“Meeting you is the biggest regret of my life, Violetta. I, Alpha Liam Wensley, Alpha of the White Crescent pack, reject you, Violetta Romero, as my luna and as my fated mate.” I fell on my knees with pain, and more tears rolled down my cheeks. He rejected me without thinking twice, like I was some kind of burden in his life. I looked at his face, where no regret was present. His indifference cut me deep and controlled my pain as much as I could.
“I accept your rejection, Alpha Liam Wesley,” I whimpered with pain when our bond broke apart.
He grunted in pain, but being an Alpha, His body was way stronger than mine.
“Liam! You will regret this, and I will never forgive a sl*t for wrecking my perfect relationship." Claudia gasped in shock and sobbed like I slapped her on her face.
“If you dare to insult her again, I will throw you out of this pack, Violetta,” He snarled in anger, and I sneered before getting up and leaving that damned pack house. Instead of heading to my house, I headed straight to the nearest bar. My parents were over the moon after knowing about my fated mate, and now, they will blame me for all this. They just want to have a relationship with the Alpha by hook or by crook. My father was the gemma of this pack, and when he found out about my omega wolf, he didn’t talk to me for a whole month. I did everything to make him proud, but it was never enough for him. I was never enough for anyone, and now… I will be labeled as the rejected wolf of this pack.*******
“F*ck my life,” I said and downed the first shot. Alcohol is the best pain medicine in the world.
“I did so much for that damn bastard, and he dares to cheat on me. I will never waste my life for anyone again… not again,” I downed another shot and looked towards the dance floor.
“Let’s dance in sadness,” I said to myself, and was about to head towards the dance floor when I noticed a handsome man sitting alone in the far corner of the bar. Being a lightweight, I used to stay away from alcohol, but not tonight. I ordered their strongest alcohol and smiled at myself. I wasted my whole life chasing everyone’s approval and now… I will live my life for my own happiness.
“F*ck! Am I seeing an angel in this low-level bar?” I asked myself and downed a few more shots before walking towards him.
“Mr. Angel!” I called him and he opened his eyes. I thought he was looking angry, but when he looked at me with his honey-colored eyes, I forgot to breathe for a second.
“Are you talking to me?” He asked in his deep velvety voice, and I nodded.
“What will you charge for one night?” I asked him and opened my bag.
“For a top model like you… $10,000 will be enough, right?” I asked, and he arched his brow in question.
“Come on, don’t be shy! No one will know anything, and I assure you, I am pretty.” A smile crept on his lips, and he finished his glass of wine.
“You are drunk,” He pointed out.
“Of course! Because of you,” I pointed my finger towards him.
“Because of me?” He inquired.
“Yes! Otherwise, I will not be able to muster enough courage to hire you in this lifetime.” My voice turned slurry, and he laughed, and my eyes widened in surprise.
“You are an interesting soul,” He praised.
“And good in bed. Don’t worry! I will give you ten-star reviews,” I showed him my phone, and his smile deepened.
“Oh, really?” I bobbed my head in yes.
“What’s your name?” He asked and stood up. He came towards me, and I pressed my finger on his lips.
“No names, Handsome. Just fun and enjoyment,” I winked, and he agreed. He picked me up in bridal style, and my eyes widened. I quickly circle my arms around his neck to secure myself. A small dimple appeared on his left cheek, and I slowly touched it.
“You are looking like a charming angel. Ready to seduce me,” I commented, and his smile deepened.
He headed straight towards his car, and I pointed towards my car.
“But, my car is…”
“Shhh! Let me treat you like a Queen… since you paid me handsomely,” he added, and I nodded with a smile.
“Okay, okay! I can see you are quite a charmer,” I answered, and he laughed again. F*ck! I can hear this sound all my life without getting tired.
His gaze shifted to hers. And for one split second— she saw it. The crack. The one thing he almost never let anyone witness. Shame. Real, soul-deep shame. “I told you,” he said quietly, “that loving me would one day become dangerous.” The words hit her like a slap. Violetta’s eyes widened. “No.” Draven looked away first. His voice remained cold and controlled, but she heard the fracture under it. “She’s not entirely wrong.” The nursery went still. Dimitri stiffened. Gerald’s face darkened. Violetta stared at him in disbelief. “What did you just say?” Draven’s jaw clenched. “She’s wrong about many things,” he said, “but not about what I am on a full moon.” Her heart started pounding harder. “No.” “Violetta—” “No.” She stood so suddenly the chair scraped across the floor. Draven’s head snapped up. “You do not get to do that,” she said, voice shaking now. “Do what?” “Agree with her.” Something changed in his expression. Slight
The Curse They Wanted to Expose The first sign that peace would not last came just after noon. Violetta had barely managed to get Kael back to sleep after his feeding while Elara dozed against her shoulder, her tiny fingers curled into the soft fabric of Violetta’s robe. For the first time since the nightmare began, the room felt almost still. Almost safe. Draven sat across from her in the nursery chair, his sleeves rolled up, his massive frame looking absurdly out of place while he assembled one of the twins’ wooden rattles with grim concentration—as if fixing baby toys might somehow repair everything else too. Violetta should have smiled. On another day, she would have. But she was too tired. Too full. Too aware of the strange, fragile thing that had settled between them since last night. Not forgiveness. Not peace. But something quieter. Something raw. And then— Dimitri burst into the room without knocking. That alone was enough to make Draven ris
The prison doors closed behind them with a heavy clang. And just like that— Violetta’s strength gave out. It didn’t happen all at once. No dramatic collapse. No scream. Just… a quiet unraveling. Her steps slowed. Her breathing turned uneven. The cold control she had held together inside that prison began to crack, piece by piece. Draven noticed immediately. Of course he did. His hand tightened at her waist, steadying her before she could stumble. “Violetta.” Her name came softer this time. Not a command. A warning. A plea. She didn’t answer. Didn’t look at him. Didn’t even seem to hear him. Because everything she had just held back— every word, every truth, every shattered illusion— came crashing down all at once. “They never loved me.” The words came out hollow. Like she was saying them for the first time out loud… and hearing the truth of them echo back. Draven’s chest tightened violently. “Don’t—” “They never loved me,” she repeated, her voice breaking t
Her mother’s face crumpled.“Violetta, of course I did—”“Don’t lie to me.”The prison went still.Violetta stepped closer.Tears streamed silently down her face now, but her voice had gone eerily steady.“Not now. Not after everything. Not when I was put in a cage like an animal because of you.”Her mother started sobbing harder. But Violetta didn’t stop.“Did you ever love me,” she repeated, “or did you only love what I could do for you?”That question broke something. Not in Violetta. In her mother.Because for one split second—one horrible, honest split second—silence answered for her.And that silence was enough.Violetta’s face went completely blank.Draven saw it and instantly knew—this was worse than tears.Worse than screaming. This was the kind of pain that turned a person quiet because something essential inside them had finally died. Her mother reached for the bars desperately.“Violetta, please—”“No.”Violetta took a step back. Then another. And when she looked at her
The office floor went unnaturally quiet when Asher arrived. Not because he raised his voice. Not because he caused a scene. But because something about him shifted the air. Everyone knew about his power and authority and how much Alpha Draven gave value to his private guard. Even Gerald came after
(Violetta POV)The throne room of the King's Palace simmered with a cold, suffocating tension. Alpha Draven stood before his parents, the King and Queen, his obsidian mask reflecting the torchlight. Behind that mask, Asher’s heartbeat thundered—steady, controlled, but burning. He had just returned
The third morning felt different. Violetta woke up without dizziness, without that constant ache in her bones, without the guilt sitting heavy on her chest. She ate breakfast properly—slowly, deliberately—ignoring the ghost of every cruel word spoken to her. She wasn’t broken. And she refused to
Violetta woke to silence. Not the peaceful kind—but the heavy, pressing kind that made her chest feel tight before her mind even caught up. Her head throbbed dully, and she slowly held her head. The faint scent of antiseptic mixed with something familiar… something warm.Leather with a strong musky
