“Congratulations to us. Finally free from the accusation we have been managing for years now.” Henry Vale raised his glass high, his face bright with excitement.

“Congratulations to us!” everyone chorused before their glasses clinked together.

The room was lively. Laughter filled the dining hall. Music played softly in the background. Expensive food covered the table, and bottles of wine had already been opened.

Every member of the Vale family was present. Tonight, they were celebrating success

The morning sun slipped through the open curtains and landed straight on Jane’s face. She groaned and turned away, pulling the sheet over her head for a second before sitting up slowly. She had slept late. The press conference had stayed in her mind all night. She kept replaying Henry Vale’s speech, each watch feeding the anger burning inside her. Every lie, every calm expression, every word he spoke, like she never meant anything to them.By the time sleep finally came, it was already midnight. Now morning has gone far.Jane got out of bed, bathed, dressed, and went downstairs for breakfast. A maid standing near the dining area bowed slightly when she saw her.“Please wait in the living room, Miss, while I set the table.” Jane nodded and walked to the living room. She sat down and started scrolling through her phone on recent fragrance articles from other countries. New launches, rare ingredients, packaging trends, scent layering. She might be out of Vale Corp, but her love for perfu

“Sorry, Miss,” the woman washing Jane’s hair said quickly when water splashed across her face.“It’s fine,” Jane replied, blinking away the drops. It had been two days since Dravyn proposed marriage to her, yet the strange part was that he still treated her with care even though she had not given him any answer. That morning, he had taken her out shopping, but first he insisted she be pampered. He brought her to an expensive spa salon and requested they wash her hair.“She needs a hair wash,” Dravyn had told the manager. “Not because her hair is dirty, but because I want her to feel good without lifting a finger.” The manager had nearly laughed, wondering if hair wash was a way to show love.Jane sat quietly while staff moved around her in a hurry, eager to please her. It was only her and Dravyn inside the spa. He had booked the entire place for privacy. Han remained outside. He had made it clear he had no interest in staying in a spa with them. When the woman finished washing Jane’s

Jane walked into her room feeling triumphant. She had just put Dravyn in a tight corner, and the thought pleased her.Only a few days after being betrayed, the way she thought had changed so much. If only she had been this sharp before, maybe she would not have fallen so low.She jumped onto the bed, a bright smile spreading across her face. She was happy for two reasons.First, she had asked Dravyn a serious question and left him speechless.Second, Dravyn’s chest.Jane quickly sat upright on the bed, pulling her knees close to her chest. The image returned to her mind so clearly that she bit down on her lip and covered her mouth with both hands.Broad shoulders, firm skin still wet from his bath, the shape of his muscle beneath the loose robe. She imagined touching it. Soft, yet strong beneath her fingers.“What?” Jane muttered to herself. “How can you fantasise over a man’s chest?” She groaned and flopped backwards. Then another realisation hit her. She had never even seen Greg bar

Tonight, they were celebrating success. They had spent years planning how to make Jane take the fall. And the day had finally come.“We wouldn’t have pulled this off without Greg,” Lila said proudly, a wide grin on her face.“Of course,” Kate Vale added quickly. “We can’t forget your husband, who volunteered for the job. And you too, Lila, for being patient all these years.”“Thank you, Mom,” Lila replied shyly, though pride glowed in her eyes.“Lila is truly the daughter of a Vale,” Henry said with satisfaction. “And now she is car

"And I won’t cross boundaries unless you allow it.”“What you mean is more like a contract relationship, right?” Jane asked. “And once I get my revenge, it ends?”“Technically, yes,” Dravyn replied. “But we don’t know how long it would take to bring the Vales down.”Jane lowered her head and thought for a moment. Then she looked up sharply.“Won’t that stain your reputation? Being with me will make the public talk.”“Jane, I don’t care.” His voice was steady. “People will always talk. That is good for my brand, too. All I need is your response.”He leaned forward slightly. “I will give you everything you need. I can’t say I’m good with romance, but I will treat you right. I’ll make sure no one ever hurts you again.”Dravyn reached for her hands and wrapped them gently in his.“Jane, you will not only feel safe with me, but you will be safe. That I can assure you.”Jane looked down at their joined hands, then slowly pulled back.“But being disturbed by women isn’t really a serious prob

“Dravyn Woods?” Jane called softly, her voice trembling with surprise.Dravyn nodded once, his jaw tightening at the sound of his name.“Thank you,” Jane muttered weakly. He nodded again and adjusted the coat around her body, making sure it covered her well. After that, he picked up the bottle of water beside him, opened it, and handed it to her.“Have some water.”Jane took the bottle and quietly gulped down half of it. When she lowered it, she released a long breath of relief before returning it to him.Dravyn collected it with a nod, then started the car immediately and drove off. His eyes stayed fixed on the road.Jane, on the other hand, watched him as he drove. His jaw was still tight. His grip on the steering wheel was firm. She could tell he was not happy.Trying to distract herself, she studied his features instead. Dravyn was no longer the shy boy from high school.Back then, he had been handsome in a quiet way. Now his features were sharper, more defined. He looked even bet
